About this property
Artisans On The Hill - Refreshingly different on the NSW North Coast
If you need to be staying in the Manning Valley during the current situation, what better place than your own self-contained accommodation at Artisans On the Hill!
Only a 3 hour drive North from Sydney, overlooking the magnificent Manning Valley, is Manning Valley Hideaway at Artisans On The Hill.
Ideal for Groups or just a quiet getaway, this self-contained home away from home is perfect as a base for family gatherings, sporting groups, team building or creative pursuits in Artisans Workshop. Your hosts, Peter and Christine live in a different wing on-site and are happy to sit with you over coffee to let you in on the hidden secrets of the Manning Valley.
Manning Valley Hideaway at Artisans On The Hill is also Pet Friendly. Well behaved pets are welcome inside (but not on our furniture or linen). Warm timber flooring throughout means no carpets to gather pet hair! Please bring your pet's own bedding for their stay. Please note - the property is NOT fenced.
The large, sealed parking area is ideal for boats, coaches and other awkward vehicles. There is even some under cover parking available by arrangement.
There are 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms plus a large fully equipped kitchen and living area, all reverse cycle air-conditioned of course. (Note: One room is allocated per 2 guests. Should you require additional rooms for single occupancy, a surcharge of $50 applies for each additional bedroom - for the booking NOT per night). Your beds are all made up with fresh linen, environmentally friendly toiletries and large fluffy towels. There is a hamper of breakfast goodies to get you started and of course real coffee and tea supplies are always on hand!
The large screen television and sound bar allows you to enjoy the vast library of movies, or perhaps you just want to curl up with a good book from the huge eclectic collection.
Free WiFi is there for those who need to remain connected while staying.
Artisans On The Hill is strictly a No Smoking property (including the grounds) and we do ask that you respect our wishes in that regard.
Please note that as from 1st December 2021, all guests who are eligible for Covid vaccine must be fully vaccinated in order to stay at Artisans On The Hill.
Located only a stone's throw from the village of Tinonee, and larger centres of Wingham and Taree, you get the benefits of a quiet rural location with easy access to all "The Valley" (made famous by local best selling author, Di Morrissey) has to offer.
The famous "Tip Track" - Mountain Bike Trail through Kiwarrak Forest is 5km away and the Beaches at Old Bar, Wallabi Point and Saltwater are about 20 minutes from your door.
For more information on the area, suggest you web search Visit Manning Valley.
Should you like to experience something different during your stay, spend some time in the Artisan Gallery on site, with functional pieces from some of Australia's best Artisans. Better still, try a workshop with your hosts, Peter & Christine, who can teach you things like woodturning, silver jewellery making, kiln formed glass and lots more. Lots of fun things for kids to make too!
Artisans Retreat / Artisans On The Hill has operated as a traditional B&B for several years, but with the addition of more bedrooms and the kitchen/living area, has made the shift to self contained accommodation - just for you!
Be daring - try something Completely Different!

About the host
Hosted by Peter & Christine Calabria

Peter (originally from a farm in western NSW) and Christine (who grew up in Tasmania) are both passionate artisans.
Peter's favorite is to create in wood, and Christine's is making pure silver jewellery from precious metal clay.
We both enjoy teaching our skills in these and many other crafts at Artisans On The Hill.
Should you wish to try your hand during your stay, the well equipped workshop and our teaching skills will ensure you will go home with some magnificent work you have created.

Why they chose this property
In creating Artisans On The Hill, we looked far and wide for the ideal location before settling on a 5 acre hilltop paddock near Taree in the magnificent Manning Valley, only around a 3 hour drive north of Sydney.
We then set about designing and building our dream to create an unusual, comfortable, inspiring place for us and our guests to contemplate, create or just relax away from the pressures of everyday life.
We also wanted a unique Gallery space to display and sell high quality Artisan craft. This now boasts pieces for sale from internationally revered Australian artisans.

What makes this property unique
Artisans On The hill is unique in that we have facilities on hand to cater to a wide variety of Artisan Crafts.
We were able to achieve this because of the space the property has, the lack of close neighbors but the close proximity to major towns and natural attractions.
