We had a wonderful visit to Mt Gambier. Carol was wonderful to communicate with and we appreciated the extra effort she went to to make sure we had the best stay.

Two nights at Hideaway Cottage

Lovely deceptively roomy & spotlessly clean cottage. Bed was very comfortable and slept really well. Owner was very helpful. Will be back.

Spring Break

A very nice 1930s home well located near the blue lake. Some great walks with Gus & Riley around the blue lake and close enough to town for groceries. Yard is more than big enough and secure for two German Shepherds. Highly recommended and we will be back again soon.

Sadly not a great experience as we had a privacy interuption 1st day and then another the 2nd day. Communication by property manager was defensive and not helpful. The ‘entire place’ won’t be yours and was not as advertised. We left a day early and refund for 1 day refused.

The “privacy interruption” the guest is referring to is putting rubbish bins in and out by the road as her stay coincided with bin night and were full from a previous guest. The bins are located at the front of the house in the garden 2 metres away from the roadside by a side fence. The house or behind the gates were not entered at all. I take my role as host very seriously and would rather guests enjoy their holiday than worry about bin day. At no stage was her privacy interrupted and in fact she arrived early which is why she saw a member of my team put them out and was out for breakfast when the bin was put back in the front garden. It is unfortunate that she chose to leave Mt Gambier a night early but I feel it had more to do with the terrible weather we had at the time. I tried my hardest to communicate with her but she did not answer phone calls and only wanted to send rude and demanding messages. I was not willing to be blackmailed into a refund resulting in this review. I was relieved when she told me she had left as I was worried illegal activity may have been taking place in my home.
