This newly rebuilt town house is in Capitol Hill Historic district. The façade of the house is the same as the house built in 1860 but interior is modern. Located just a little more than one block from the Library of Congress, 3 blocks from the Capitol, and 4 blocks from Supreme Court. A wide variety of restaurants, bars, banks and stores are only one or two blocks away from this house. A full-service gas station is one block away. Eastern Market is about two blocks away. This spacious house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, two with whirlpool tubs. Also just one block away, guests can find a bus and a bike share station to explore the city.
Eastern Market metro station and Capitol South metro station are about 3 blocks away. However, Uber and taxi are cheaper and easier than metro. For example, metro costs $2 daytime and $ 2.25 rush hour per person. For four people to go to the White House, metro costs $ 8 or $ 9 and you will have to walk 3 or 4 blocks from station to the White House. UberX costs $ 13 directly from our house to the White House. To get to Lincoln Memorial, Metro cost $ 8 or $ 9 for four and you will have to walk 11 blocks from Smithsonian station. UberX costs $15 direct to Lincoln Memorial according to Uber website.
Nationals baseball park is a little over a mile away. It is very easy to go to National Arlington Cemetery from the house: go straight on the street from the house, make one turn on to Memorial Bridge and you are there.
This bright gorgeous house in Capitol Hill historic district has modern décor inside, three skylights, and a backyard with tables and chairs. It has keyless entry door too.
We care about the safety of the guests. The whole house is protected with fire sprinklers. There are smoke alarms and also several carbon monoxide alarms. In addition, there are fire extinguishers in the house. All the box springs and mattresses are protected with CleanRest encasements which keep off allergens, microtoxins, dust mites, and bedbugs.
First floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen and a bedroom with a full bath. Second floor has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Only the Second floor master bathroom is specifically for the master bedroom 2. All the other three bathrooms are accessible by people from any bedrooms. We provide soap, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers, toilet paper and towels.
There is a wet bar upstairs so that people from upstairs bedrooms do not need to go downstairs for drinks or midnight snacks. Temperatures can be controlled separately downstairs and upstairs. There is one thermostat downstairs and also one upstairs. The house has modern forced air heating and air-conditioning.
If you drive, we will obtain a parking permit for you for free if you send us your license number, make, color and the state of registration before you arrive. Parking is quite easy in front and around the house. The neighborhood is very safe because it falls inside the jurisdiction of both DC Police and Capitol Police.
Dining table has 8 chairs. Kitchen Granite countertop has 6 chairs. There are two Pack and Plays and a high chair for babies. There are 3 TV's including a 50 inch TV in the living room. The house has Wi-Fi too.
Every bedroom has its own closet. The bunkbed is adult size. Kitchen has plates, dishes, utensils and other necessary gadgets. Laundry and dishwasher are ready to go.
People who like to be "Green" should rejoice because the roof and the front wall have sprayed insulation and also there is solar power for the house. There is no hidden fees.
If you need 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms or a studio basement for 2 or 4 people, please check out Property number 971861 hosted by the same manager.
Please don't reserve if you want to have loud and noisy parties or smoke inside the house. Smoking in the house is not allowed. Loud and noisy parties in the house or in the backyard are not allowed.
Guests having loud and noisy parties will be asked to leave without refund. Regular family gatherings are fine. Accept 8 people.

About the host
Hosted by Peter

I retired from a Federal Government agency in Washington DC after working about 20 years and have lived in Washington DC for more than 30 years. I love the city and can give you pointers about it if you need to know anything. Please don't hesitate to ask.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is under the jurisdiction of Capitol Police and DC Police and is the safest in Washington DC.
What makes this property unique
We are in a historic district and houses look the same as built in 1800s. Our house was torn down a few years ago and we rebuilt totally new including the concrete and wood floors, following new building codes. But the facade looks the same as it was built in 1860.
