Bittersweet; a sense of pleasure tinged with sadness…but that’s OK, you are always welcome to come back!

This homes boasts 4 luxurious king bedrooms, each with its own private en-suite tile/glass bath; dual sinks, and resort style glass door enclosed showers, plush towels and blow dryers. You’ll sleep soundly on Tempur-Breeze Cooling mattresses with high-end linens and bedding, 4 king down pillows, complete with down comforters to snuggle under. Each bedroom has a flat panel TV discretely hidden behind custom cabinetry. You are in for an extraordinary experience! No detail has been overlooked for the comfort of our guests.

The outdoor space is AMAZING! At the center of it all is the waterfall (operation of which may be seasonal) with the calming sound of falling water to add to the ambiance. The pavilion boasts a wood burning fireplace (wood provided), flat panel TV, and comfortable seating. This is everyone’s favorite place to be! Just off this area is also a wood burning fire pit (wood provided). The semi enclosed dining area and gas grill, lends a bit of elegance to outdoor dining and is perfect for those days when the weather just isn’t cooperating with your plans.

Relaxing but Close to The Action

The property was the perfect location to relax after returning from a day of seeing The Biltmore and Asheville. We especially loved the den because it's size and seating options allowed us to visit as a group. This is a luxury property that is worth renting. Our one regret is that the rainy weather did not give us the opportunity to use the beautiful outdoor living areas.

September at Bittersweet

The property exceeded our expectations!! The house and grounds were well kept, fully stocked with amenities, and peacefully quiet. Our family (4 adult sibling couples) enjoyed plenty of meals and football game viewing together and well appointed areas to sit and talk. It was a beautiful time of year to visit and we will tell our friends about this special place.

More than everything you need

Place has everything and so much more. The layout of the house easily suits the whole family. Every item in the house is carefully thought of. House is stocked with all the basics. The outside is unlike anywhere else. Sitting, eating, cooking - it’s all there. Kids can play; adults can relax. House is near walking trails and close to anywhere you want to go. Or you can eat in at the great table. Hosts care about the place and you. Easy directions and the process makes sense. Great time and can’t recommend enough.

Gorgeous oasis

Bittersweet is a gorgeous oasis of comfort, welcome, and tranquility, nestled in a lovely natural setting that is, nonetheless, luxurious and sublime. Every need has been meticulously thought of and designed into this beautiful home, with its epicenter (for my family) balanced between the outdoor living area and the large, inviting kitchen and dining area. The naturally designed water feature provides a constant, soothing background and lures a variety of birds and butterflies, as do the beautiful trees and landscape, which were blooming while we were there. The king beds were pure bliss and we all slept wonderfully well the entirety of our weeklong stay. And oh, the showers! The home, furnishings, and decor have been meticulously planned and cared for and is meticulously clean and in perfect condition. It is obvious that this is a beloved and well cared for home. We absolutely recommend Bittersweet as an oasis of comfort, luxury, and beauty, and would love to return.

Absolutely fabulous!

There are not enough superlatives to accurately describe our stay at Bittersweet. First of all, the home is dropdead gorgeous inside and out. The owners have thought of every creature comfort imaginable, and then some. Every aspect of this home exceeded our expectations. The amenities inside the home were thoughtful and inclusive, write down two snacks, a coffee bar, serving dishes, pantry shelf, linens, glassware – everything a home needs. The outside pavilion living room with full fireplace was a gathering spot for us every night. The sounds of the waterfall were soothing and peaceful. Call today one of the seven other casts would raise his or her glass to me - the organizer - and say “Well done!” we rode the hop on hop off trolley two days in a row to visit various sites we wanted to see, including lunch at the famous Terrace at Grove Park Inn. We enjoyed dinner and drinks on the rooftop of Hemmingway’s and celebrated my birthday dinner at Vinnie Neighborhood restaurant. Lunch at sierra Nevada brewery provided a great afternoon as well. But each evening, we built a fire, sat around talking and laughing like old friends do, the peaceful sound of the waterfall added to the ambience and pleasure. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Had a great time despite fact Hurricane Helene came to visit. Home is impeccable. Stunning in every way. We immediately felt at home. Hats off to Beth and Ron who ventured out in aftermath of the storm to insure we were safe and sound. Similar kudos to neighbors who were kind and welcoming. Bravo Zulu.

Asheville - Bittersweet

We had four couples here for an extended weekend. The property was fantastic. Easily the best VRBO property we've utilized. It was clean, modern, roomy, etc.... We didn't get to enjoy some of the beautiful interior common areas because the outside areas were so perfect for our group. If our group does Asheville again we will definitely be headed to Bittersweet.

Girls Get-Away

We were so impressed with this home! We wished we had more time to just hang out in the beautiful outdoor space. It seemed all the decor and furnishings were really chosen with care. We were 8 adult women, sisters and sisters-in-laws so we all shared bedrooms but between the king size beds and large bathrooms, we all felt we had plenty of space. We would return in an instant!

Top Notch House in a Great Location

From check-in to check-out this was one of the best experiences I have had in a rental property. The owners were very helpful when needed and the pictures of the house do not do it justice! I highly recommend!

Beautiful and well appointed home

We traveled here with our toddler and another family with a toddler and infant. The adults and kids all enjoyed themselves. The house is charming, very clean and has an extraordinary outdoor space where the adults enjoyed relaxing and the kids had a great time exploring. It is a 15-20 min drive to nice restaurants and activities. We would absolutely recommend it to other travelers.
