But ... for those with energy to burn the opportunities abound - walk South on the beach to magnificent coastal rock formations, spend time on the beach, fish, bring your own boat, play tennis (racquets are provided, the court is 5 minutes walk away).
The Jetty Cafe is a 15 minute walk or short drive. They serve hot coffee and delicious meals.
Take a drive south for short or long scenic walks, surf the waves at Cloudy Bay, visit Cape Bruny Lighthouse, the Cheese Factory, Oyster Farm, or take a cruise on the Pennicott Wilderness Journeys. There's so much to see and do.
The home is well insulated, double glazed, heated and cooled with a heat pump/air conditioner. We rely on rainwater and a quality filters are installed for excellent drinking water.
While at Bruny Island, our family loves "screen down time, family up time", enjoying the beach, reading and games, so the TV is small and hidden behind a picture. There is no wifi at the house, however there is great 4G reception for mobile devices.
Sorry no pets due to quolls, potaroos, echidnas and birds.

A return trip for me. If you value quiet, natural bush and a calming stretch of water, this place will deliver. Excellent kitchen with modern appliances and up to date kitchen ware. Janet is a welcoming host and good communicator.Recommended.
Stunning view, convenient location for the Bruny Marathon and it had all the facilities required with easy to follow instructions. Would definitely stay again! Janet sent an informative text in the days leading up offering the option for early check in too!
This was a wonderful place to stay. The weather was wild and windy but we were able to enjoy watching it from inside this cosy and comfortable house. It had everything we needed for a perfect break.
Everything was perfect. Our sea in front of us, the beach, our beautiful house and the beauty around us. And Janet and Frank have provided a home away from home. So comfortable.
Absolutely stunning views. Thoughtfully presented house with a cute little path down to the beach. Great location, comfortable and cozy with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Loved it.
What an amazing spot, incredible view and ambience. So clean and homey. Just a heads up it’s 20mins down a dirt road, a bit hairy at nighttime. But totally worth the trip. Janet & Frank have an absolute diamond in the rough for a perfect getaway. Thanks for having us.
I had a fantastic time at No41, so I extended my stay there. From the view out onto the water, to the board games and puzzles, to the well stocked kitchen, this house was an excellent location for a getaway, and I will be back.
We had an amazing holiday at No41 Dennes. A beautiful home in a secluded location. Those incredible views! Excellent communication from the hosts, we can’t wait to stay again.
A beautiful home in a tranquil place with magnifecent views and Janet has been an absolute pleasure to deal with from the beging to the end of our stay. If opportunity arises we will back for another stay.
Janet’s property is perfect in every way - location, views, amenities provided, cleanliness, contact etc. This was our second stay and cannot wait to stay again. Thoroughly recommended!
Excellent stay in a beautiful home with everything at hand. One of the most relaxing holidays and was reluctant to leave the house and view to go and explore.Thank you Hanet and Frank.
It was a magical stay in a perfect position. The property had everything we could possibly need or want. Communication with the owners was very easy. We loved everything about the property. Highly recommend and hopefully we will be back.

About the host

Frank - I'm a Cabinetmaker and Carpenter. When at Bruny Island I enjoy fishing, beach volleyball and beach cricket. Janet - I've retired from nursing and now manage our holiday house. In my spare time I love to potter in the garden and spend time with our grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
As youngsters we both holidayed with our respective families at Dennes Point, with many wonderful memories. Days spent swimming and playing at the white sandy beach, fishing, rock hopping, walking to the shop to buy an icy pole. We fell in love with the land, built 2 little sheds, bought a caravan, built a couple of swings and 'glamped' on the land during holidays for years with our children, friends and family. When we had had enough of camping, and decided to build the home, our kids thought we were crazy because they loved it and their holidays as they were, but now that it is finished they love it too!
What makes this property unique
We have found it so refreshing to spend time here, a step away from the busyness of life, take a deep breath and relax. To sit and watch the waves, the birds soaring in the breeze, the boats traveling back and forth calms the mind and body. It's a short walk down to the beach, great for swimming, fishing, walking and lazing around in the sun.
