Property has been completed to a high standard with privacy, peacefulness & comfort for those who stay here at the forefront of our design. Very restful location, yet easily accessible to nearby Armidale, Uralla & even Inverell.
Property is located in Invergowrie in Rocklea Road, which is located only 10 mins drive or 13km west from Armidale on a sealed road. Invergowrie is an area of many small rural holdings, mostly around 5 to 10 acres of people wanting to be close to a reasonably large centre of Armidale, but with the space to allow for peace and quiet and to enjoy the rural relaxed lifestyle, that's safe and where you can get a good night's sleep.
Would be ideal for Families/Retirees/Professional people wanting a quiet weekend away or for a few days quiet, safe stay whilst visiting Armidale - very much worth the small 10 mins drive to stay in this relaxing environment, with everything you would need.
Bed's are made, ready for your stay. Linen provided, Cutlery, Plates, Kitchen Utensils, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster, Iron, Hairdryer, Dishwasher, Reverse-Cycle Air-Conditioning maintains temperature with Remote Control, 2 TV's, 2 DVD Players, Extra Heaters for Bedrooms, Fan, Bedside Lamps, BIW in Main Bedroom, Wardrobe in 2nd Bedroom with 2nd Sofa, Washing Machine/Laundry in Bathroom, Separate Bath, Shower, Vanity all with On-Demand Hot Water, Heat/Light/Fan Unit, Curtains/Blinds/Carpet or Floating Timber Floors throughout, Desk & Return, Porta-Cot.
House yard only is included excluding locked up garage - yard is fenced off from rest of property making a safe child-friendly yard. Pet cows sometimes graze in rest of property to keep the grass down and property neat. Well behaved small dogs only OK in limited circumstances and with prior notifying of owner - there are sheltered areas for them in the enclosed yard, but NOT allowed in the house itself at all! You must clean up after them also, or a charge will be imposed for us to do so. Any damage caused by pets will be deducted from bond. PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR "WELL BEHAVED" DOGS TO BE GIVEN AN EXCEPTION AS A REFUSAL MAY OFFEND - NO DOGS INSIDE THE HOUSE, AT ALL!
All new or near new furniture, new carpet, floating timber floors, new bathroom, new kitchen, new appliances, but charm and quietness of location remain. House is well insulated making very comfortable throughout.
On-demand hot water, shower, separate cast iron bath, separate toilet next to bathroom, separate tv room for kids, dining/kitchen/lounge all combined, bench-top servery for meals as well as dining table/chairs, extra bed options, sofa-beds, etc included also.
Local shop nearby (about 4 kms) which provides general store supplies, fuel, very tasty takeaways, ice-creams, movies, daily papers, etc and friendly service.
A safe, quiet, peaceful and extremely comfortable semi-rural haven on a sealed road, with very easy access to Armidale, Uralla & even Inverell. We love being a small distance from town to get the safeness and quietness of this great location. Every effort has been made to ensure your stay is enjoyable and relaxing, as has been the case for all staying so far. I stayed at The Block Getaway with my husband and kids and it was such a peaceful getaway! The property is nice and quiet, yet still fairly close to Armidale. It was a perfect size for our family of 4 to relax while away visiting family.
It was a very comfortable and clean house. Quiet and very close to a local Shop (take away food and fuel) and only 17 kl to Armidale

Great location, dirty house
The house sounded as if it was just what we needed The booking process was smooth. The owner responded quickly to our questions and provided details about the address and how to access the key.
Unfortunately the shower and bathroom basin were very dirty. The mugs and frying pans were dirty as were the light switches. A lot of the nonstick coating on the frying pans had disappeared some time ago. The owner had told us the dishwasher wasn’t working and that he hadn’t been able to get it fixed over the Christmas break. Both the inside of the refrigerator and the microwave needed wiping out.
The double bed was good. The smart tv and the washing machine worked well.
The location was only 5 minutes away from the studio where I was doing my course. If the house had been cleaner I would come back next time but I’m now looking for another place to stay.

These comments are just not a fair indication sorry. There were very minor small marks on microwave, but regular cleaning is done each time, and a cleaner had been through the property the day before these tenants arrived. I find this not fair as tenant did not even leave the toilet flushed when leaving, moved furniture into different rooms without asking, and were generally difficult - we would never rent to them again anyway. All previous reviews have confirmed the absolute cleanliness of property. The property WAS clean, and any ridiculously minor things have now been completely attended to. We live in a rural area and put much effort into providing a great small house to stay in but are not a flash hotel in the city. Dishwasher unfortunately broken down a few days before tenant arrived and due to Christmas break was unable to get it fixed until now, and is now fixed. We just find this review rude, offensive and not even close to a fair reflection of our beautiful, well-maintained, CLEAN, property which every other guest has confirmed. Shame on you!
The Block Getaway - says it all really. Beautiful, peaceful retreat, fabulous views, 3 friendly which the boys loved hand feeding grass to.
Plenty of room for the five of us - the additional TV lounge was a godsend to those of us who didn't have Grand Final fever that weekend!
The place was immaculately clean and nicely furnished for a weekend away from it all - there were even 2 beers in the fridge (three now - enjoy!)
Loved the local shop - friendly and well stocked. Armidale and the Waterfall Way were easy to get to and fun, but coming back to solitude and peace was just heavenly.
We loved every minute - especially the spectacular sunsets.
Perfect retreat for a few days for us. Could have stayed longer.

Yes, unfortunately the booking date was out a day so I thought it was actually the next day but I was there within 5 mins of being called. Gave a discount off the usual rent for extra people as a gesture and had a friendly chat - all seemed fine then!
We had a lovely stay at The Block Getaway. It was very clean, cozy and restful. The country quiet was sublime. The kids loved having the pet cows and looked forward to seeing them in the mornings.
It is a great property! Clean & tidy & away from rather smokey environment of Armidale at night but only 9 mins on average from town. The property manager was very kind & obliging. Thank you!

Great escape, close to Armidale
This little cottage was perfect for us; easy trip into town and no close neighbors. ‘plenty of room and nice accoutrements. My only suggestion would be a few more essential kitchen utensils, but I’m guessing this is simply because no one has mentioned it as everything else was taken care of. Nicely appointed bathroom and kitchen.

clean comfortable quiet relaxed
So nice to arrive at this little house and lovely to wake up there in the morning, with a view out over the surrounding countryside and morning sunshine. It's in a lovely, quiet spot not far out of Armidale. Overall impressions were that it is light, clean, well maintained and very easy to relax in. Very important - the bed is wonderfully comfortable. I hope to come back after there's been some rain.

We are a local professional couple, who have built this property over several years as a "get away from it all" peaceful project. Has been greatly enjoyable the building of property, and much attention to detail and care has gone into it's construction and facilities/comforts included.
Why they chose this property
Property bought off my parents who purchased it off a neighbour as an interest block. Has just evolved over time as we all have enjoyed going there and working on it.
What makes this property unique
Larger block with great views set back off main road for peace and quiet at top of a small hill. Closed in yard and many trees planted around boundaries give great privacy also.
