Shamwari, , set just 100m from the clear, turquoise waters of Mystery Bay, is a traditional, homely beach cottage with 2 bedrooms, (1 queen, 2 single), 2 bathrooms, (2 showers, 1 bath), fresh linen supplied, laundry, kitchen, dining-lounge with cosy fireplace for those winter nights, and spare room to put all your luggage, pram, cot or beach gear, etc.

Plenty of wood is supplied for 3 nights, thereafter more can be purchased nearby.


Abundant birdlife surrounds in the national park and bushland, many peaceful tracks for a stroll or pedal.
Echidnas, bandicoots and wallabies are regular visitors.

Ample parking for vehicles and boat, drive in, through, and out, no need for reversing.

Experience sandy beaches fringed by rocky outcrops, headlands, fishing, swimming, surfing, snorkelling and kayaking all at your doorstep. Enjoy a bbq on the private front deck while taking in the glimpses of the ocean while the back patio affords privacy and wood fired piizza oven, all within a colourful garden setting.

The choice of three entertaining areas is great for that holiday enjoyment. In the cooler weather, soak up the warmth and ambience of the cosy indoor wood fire.

Only 10 minutes away is the attractive town of Narooma with all the modern conveniences of shopping, cafes, indoor pool, golf course, bowling club and RSL.

A 7km drive takes you to the quaint heritage village of Tilba.

We had a wonderful short break in Mystery Bay. The house was very comfortable and close to the beach - we were lucky enough to see the humpback whales putting on a show on their way north. Eveleigh checked in on us ( via text) to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Would definitely stay here again.

Great cottage beautiful location

Loved the birds and the beach being so close. My dog had the best time too.Only issue that my partner had was no coverage to make calls, it was concerning for him as he has an elderly parent.

Perfect low key beach holiday

Kia Shamwari is the perfect location for a low key beach holiday. A 3min walk to the beach, or drive a little further for the extensive pristine beaches of the coast. We lived on and loved the verandah! And Eveleigh was a great host - we enjoyed her home grown tomatoes!

Lovely stay

Beautiful house and immaculate gardens. We stayed with our two giant dogs and has a beautiful time. Dog beach within a few minutes walk. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely weekend staying here, the cottage had everything we needed. Only a short walk to the beautiful beaches. A great place to stay, we hope to be back one day.

Great house

Cosy and clean beach house. Everything you would want. The host, Eveleigh has gone beyond the norm and added lots of little things like welcome biscuits, pantry items , flowers and more. My dog was also very welcome. Great backyard and close to the beach

Lovely quiet home

My partner and I had a wonderful holiday here. Sitting on the porch watching the beautiful birds, walking to the stunning beach, and the best sleep in comfy beds. Our car broke down and Eveleigh our host was so kind and helpful, and the neighbours were so welcoming they even took me to town to get supplies. We didn't want to leave. We can't wait to go back. Thanks Eveleigh for being a super host.

Great place to getaway

Great price.Great location. Great host. The stress just melted away there. Walk to the beach, sit and read by the fire. House was spacious and clean and well supplied. My partner struggled a bit as it is a black spot for reception and internet but I didn't! Loved our stay.

Beach cottage charm

This place is an absolute gem, a traditional old style beach house but with all mod cons. The host made sure it was sparkling clean and equipped with everything we needed. We have stayed in a lot of holiday accommodation, and the presentation and cleanliness of Shamwari was impeccable. Ev is a very thoughtful and caring host, great in communicating and available to answer any questions. The cottage was a great spot for a 'digital detox', as there is no internet in the house or mobile reception inside (although 2 mins walk up the road is good Telstra reception). Leave the mobile and pc alone, and enjoy the magical beaches of Mystery Bay!

Amazing long weekend getaway

We had an exceptional stay at KiaShamwari, and our host Eveleugh was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. The housevwas cosy and perfectly situated, just a short walk from beautiful Mystery Bay. It was equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing long weekend getaway. We particularly enjoyed the wood fire and pizza oven, which added a special touch to our stay. Highly recommend KiaShamwari for a memorable holiday experience!

A very relaxing stay

Eveleigh’s Kia Shamwari is a delightful home, really pet friendly (fully fenced and even has blocks under the fence so not even noses can get out), and a block up from the beautiful beach of Mystery Bay. We really enjoyed the proximity to the dog friendly beach and sitting on the front verandah for the ocean breezes. Thanks Eveleigh for a wonderful stay, and for all your lovely touches, including stocking the fridge with local Mystery Bay kelp cheese and Tilba milk- we really felt at home!

Best beach holiday we have had

Our stay at Kaishamwari was nothing short of amazing. We felt so welcome by our host Eveleigh and right at home. The house was perfect and had everything we needed. Truly the best beach holiday we have had. We will definitely be back for another trip.

Relaxed coastal comfort

We spent a wonderful five days in early September staying at KiaShamwari – “the friendly house”. It is spacious and comfortable: we lit the fan-forced fire on two cool nights, and it provided effective warmth for the house. We spent time on the front veranda relaxing, reading, talking, and enjoying the birds and views of greenery and ocean. The beach is only a short distance away, just far enough to avoid what can be a busy camping area in holiday periods. Mystery Bay is a destination rich in things to explore: a mystery from the past, unspoiled coastline, and native animals and forest areas. During our stay, we spotted two whales off the coast, and an echidna making its way across the sand. With no wi-fi or phone line to the house, we were blessedly relieved of technology (tip if you need to email or phone: a usable 4G signal is available near the pizza oven in the back garden). Eveleigh is a friendly, knowledgeable, and generous host: the bottle of wine and chocolates were a lovely touch. It’s a pleasure to give a strong recommendation to KiaShamwari and Superhost Ev.

A peaceful place to stay with our dog

The place has everything you need. Its only a small stroll to the beach, which is dog friendly and has off leash times. Has an enclosed yard for doggies too. This is our second time staying here and will stay again.
