About this property

Large family friendly home for multiple families

Rose Retreat is a 6 bedroom home located in the centre of Port Fairy. The property is only a 5 minute walk into the centre of town and everything Port Fairy has to offer.

The house opens into a large living area with leather sofas in front of your very own log fire. There is also a second living area downstairs with TV. Perfect for tucking the kids away with a movie leaving you to enjoy quality time.

The kitchen comes with a full sized fridge and full sized separate freezer, oven and dishwasher. Settle the kids on one of the bar stools and serve up morning breakfast as the sun streams in through the window. There is also a separate dining areas with a 10 seater dining room table.

Downstairs there is a laundry room with washing machine and extra space for storage. There is also a separate downstairs bathroom with shower.

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms. The spacious master comes a King room with fan and split system, the room has large windows and perfectly positioned chaise lounge. Enjoy quality time with a cup of tea relaxing in front of the large bay windows. The second and fourth bedroom both contain Queens, the third a tri-bunk with single bed.

Upstairs there is a large bathroom with separate bath and shower and a room with a separate toilet.

Downstairs the property has a rustic indoor bar area with TV, creating a sports bar like feel. Perfect for watching your favourite AFL teams go head to head with a couple of cold beers in the company of a few mates.
On the other side of this space is also where the 5th and 6th bedroom is. An old well insulated music room converted a Queen bedroom room with adjoining room containing a set of bunk beds ideally for young children.

Outside is a large outdoor garden with a trampoline in garden, for keeping the kids entertained or for playing a game of footy. The garden is fully secure. The 2nd garage space separate to the house contains a pool table, table tennis table, foosball. This is a house full of entertainment!

Please note the house has its own high chair provided as well as stair gates fitted to the main staircase.

Clean spacious lots to do

Really nice property very spacious and garage turned into a gaming room with pool table table tennis and foosball huge back yard with trampoline lots to keep kids entertained and only short drive to shops and fishing was amazing at moyne river just around the corner

Perfect for multiple families in a great location

We shared this house with two other families and it met our needs perfectly. It is a short stroll to the Main Street and the house had everything we needed. It was well equipped with toys, games, trampoline, games tables, high chair, high quality bedding , heating, kitchen utensils, bbq…….the list goes on! We were all very impressed with the house and highly recommend it

Adequate but better suited to a small number of people

This place advertised a play space with a pool table and table tennis table in a separate garage but the doors were locked and there was no key available to get into it. The trampoline was looking very tattered around the edges and uninviting. The outdoor seating area at the back overlooking the lawn had many spiderwebs. It advertises for 13 people but the bedroom at the back has no window or ventilation and is quite stuffy; the bunk beds are very compact and uninviting. The dishwasher is only half size and for a place that supposed to accommodate 13 people this is not really practical. There are only 10 dining chairs so any more than 10 have to sit on bar stools. The stairs were steep and the layout of the ground floor is a bit confusing. Would not recommend this place for for older people. However, the house was clean and the location quiet and had a good front lawn enclosed by a gate so is good for young kids to play in. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Good size freezer and fridge.

Port fairy break

It was a fabulous place to stay but not enough bedrooms for us. Not sure if it was miscommunication on our behalf but only 4 bedrooms & we asked for a place with 6. We had to revise our stay but the beds were so comfortable as was all the furniture, clean & great facililities & games etc for the family

A fantastic family house

We stayed with a large group of 14. The property catered very well to our needs. It was very clean. It was an easy walk in to town for activities and the house was well stocked with books and toys for the children in our group. The games shed is excellent and we made good use of it. The managers were super accompanying of our need to change dates due to covid restrictions. Some notes for future guests: the upstairs shower is bigger, but down stairs had better water pressure. The dish washer is very small, but these are the only 3 challenges we had with an otherwise excellent property.
