We had a wonderful time staying here. Its a great location and in walking distance to shops, restaurants, and trails. I appreciated the thoughtfulness of some odds and ends they had avaliable and we were comfortable throughout our stay. We will stay again!
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised in the description. It is a very comfortable house. We like cool bedrooms so we appreciated having A/C, that is hard to find in the mountains. Our small dog loved the enclosed backyard. Old house charm with modern amenities. We would stay again and would recommend.
This was our 2nd time staying at The Sunflower House. The location, amenities and all that is included is so nice making for an easy trip. We hope to come back again.
Close to downtown, the river, and our family. Clean, comfortable, and plenty of space. We will definitely be back. PS And thanks for the great weather to enjoy the huge patio.
The house was well appointed and commodius - outside especially. We enjoyed the location very much. Close to a relative we were visiting in town. Definitely would recommend 👍
Darling house. Pet friendly. Lots of nice little touches like tea, coffee and butter. Wonderful patio and hot tub. Close to downtown. Great for walking. Loved using the bikes! Bed and bedding was really comfortable. We loved it.
We had a lovely 2 nights in Salida. The house was adorable and the outside area was awesome. I have one suggestion- put lights along the walkway to the hot tub.
I highly recommend a stay at this house!! Best part- deer!! We saw so many deer in Salida.
Everything you need and want to enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds and couches. Well furnished kitchen and bathroom. Great outdoor entertaining area. Close to dining and outdoor entertainment.
Stayed here with my husband and 3 small kids (5, 2 and 6 months) and our dogs. Great space for all of us and so incredibly clean and well cared for - we have actually stayed here another time with friends and it was equally as wonderful!
The property was perfect for us. We loved that it was so accommodating to our dog Gizmo. He was very comfortable there as were we. When the adult children came there was plenty of sleeping space on the comfy couches. They are more like a day bed. The house was very close to town and we enjoyed the back yard and riding the townie bikes into town for ice cream.
Caren's property worked really well for our trip. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The outdoor space was more than adequate for our needs and was really nice to have. All the restaurants and downtown are walking easy walking distance and trails are just a short bike ride away. We'll definitely be back!
Thanks - Greg
This property was awesome for two grandpas and two 17-year-old grandsons. The quality of the property is surpassed only by the gracious owner. They were so helpful in the process. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house and its amenities allowed all of us to enjoy a hassle-free, wonderful few days of skiing and Salida. WE WILL BE BACK IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Thanks to all who made our stay a wonderful experience.

Bill, our 5 year old son Max and myself (Caren) live in Breckenridge CO. I moved to Breckenridge in 1985 from Michigan and fell in love with mountain life immediately. Bill is a physical therapist and Caren is the owner of Blue Sage Spa in downtown Breckenridge.
Why they chose this property
In the mid 80's I found myself in Salida working for Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center (RMOC) as a photographer. I would drive up and down the river with my Mother's old Cutless Supreme and take photos of the rafters, then drive back the RMOC and develop the film in a darkroom aka closet, give a slideshow to the guests and sell them prints. Did I mention I lived in a tent by the river as well? These were fond memories for me so when Bill and I had the opportunity in buy a place in Salida we jumped on it. Downtown Salida used to be a ghost town back then, but now it is thriving and it is so nice to see the transformation. The community of people are friendly and laid back and we love spending time here. When looking to buy, we tooled around with our real estate agent on our bikes and we must have looked at 35 properties until we found the house on Teller St. We love it because of it's fun and funky touches outside and in, but mostly because Bill and I have created a great outdoor living space that provides comfort and relaxation for all to enjoy!
What makes this property unique
I would say the unique benefits of this property is that we have all brand new furniture in the home with a mid century modern flair. We do accept most pets and have an enclosed backyard so guests can let Rover roam around without the worry of him getting loose. The outdoor living space provides ample room for guests to relax and enjoy themselves, and the hot tub helps guests melt away any tension or stress!
