Nestled on a quiet tree lined cul de sac in beautiful Valley Village, this charming home is set in a garden on a quarter acre lot with a circular drive and covered parking. It features a salt water pool large enough for laps, a wood burning fireplace, and a large office perfect for an executive in town to work and relax. It’s only minutes from Studio City, Disney, Warner Brothers, CBS, Universal Studios and the Burbank airport. This quiet neighborhood is also near the Metro station, NOHO Arts District, the Television Academy and trendy eateries and shopping on Ventura Blvd. A short drive takes you to downtown LA, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West LA, Santa Monica and LAX.
The open and airy design includes a large office, family room, two generous sized bedrooms, master bath and central hall bath with original tile. In the office an expansive desk looks out on the front garden, and is complete with wireless printer/scanner, a large comfortable couch and a CD/stereo. The family room has the fireplace, smart TV with DVD player, an oversized comfy sleeper couch for additional guests, and dining area with four high seats for a view of the garden. Glass doors open onto the outdoor sitting area and secluded pool. Both bedrooms have large closets and queen size beds complete with high quality linens, pillows and comforters. The master bedroom has a mirrored dressing room, glass doors opening onto a patio and path to the pool, and marble vanity in the master bath. Both bathrooms have generous tubs and a shower. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counters, a farmers sink and door leading to the outdoor gas barbecue. Hardwood and bamboo floors run throughout the entire home.
Our aim is to provide a completely comfortable living environment. Everything you may need is waiting for you, just bring your suitcase!
The outdoor living space is paved with blended slate stone pavers and features a generously sized pool surrounded by blooming vines, bamboo and trees creating a private space for lounging in the sun or dining under the umbrella at the table next to the pool. Although the pool is behind a locked gate and tall fence that surrounds the garden area, there is no perimeter fence between the pool and the house. Thus it is not safe for unattended children.
The garden changes with the seasons and often features blooming flowers and trees. Hummingbirds and butterflies are frequent guests. Just last year a mourning dove couple raised three chicks in the Staghorn Fern that hangs outside the master bedroom.
Cable TV with Netflix and HBO, Wireless internet, wireless printer/scanner, washer & dryer, microwave, ice-maker, central air conditioning and heat, iron & ironing board,. Cleaning is required bi-weekly (additional charge) but available more frequently on request.
We provide environmentally sustainable cleaning products for laundry and dishwasher as well as "no trees were harmed" facial tissues and TP.
The owner has an office on site in a separate building and is available for assistance and recommendations.
This is a treasured home and garden with beautiful furnishings and accessories. We hope it will provide our guests a retreat from the noise and stress of travel and a new city. Take a moment to sit in the garden. Sip a glass of wine while you watch the hummingbirds and butterflies flit through the flowers. Having traveled extensively through my work in film production, I always yearn for a relaxed private environment when staying in a new city. I hope to provide that special level of comfort and convenience to my guests.
Why they chose this property
For me this property is unique and private due to it's location off the main streets on a cul de sac with little traffic. I love the quiet tree lined streets of Valley Village. My favorite spot to hang out is the covered lounge next to the pool where I can contemplate the expanse of blue water or dive in and swim a few laps. The salt water pool is not heated, but warm from July to September although I swim in June and October!
What makes this property unique
This is a classic 1940's style home, unpretentious but appointed with quality like Anderson windows and doors, oriental carpets and granite and marble countertops. In the winter, I enjoy nothing more than sitting by the wood burning fireplace and sipping a glass of wine. The large desk and office provide a great creative working environment with a large couch for guests or a quiet nap!
