About the host
Hosted by Carmine Savarese
I'm a creative director based in Florence. I grew up in the Tuscan country side before move to Brooklyn, 14 years ago and to come back to Italy 2 years ago. I have been traveling in many countries and I love to bike all around the city. I love to take street photography sessions. During the summers we spend quality time in Europe based at Argilaia, our place in Saturnia, Tuscany or we travel to Greece, Sardinia and other exciting mediterranean destinations.
Why they chose this property
I first came to Saturnia from Naples in 1983. I was 6 years old. My parents purchased this secluded rustic property to have a countryside vacation getaway from the bustling city. In a few years we moved permanently to the Tuscan countryside and lived in the property for several years before to convert it in a vacation homestay.
What makes this property unique
Unique rural setting, among rolling farm hills, mediterranean woodlands and olive trees. The house itself is full of charme and is nested in lust garden with a very large swimming pool where to soak during the summer months. The property is located in the Tuscany Maremma, half way from Rome and Florence and is a just 45minutes drive from the beaches of Argentario or the ski slopes of Mount Amiata. The whole area is dotted by medieval hamlets and Etruscan and Roman ruins.
