Villa Santa Lucia ...Piece of Italy in Upstate NY

When I visited Italy ..I fell In love with Tuscany....I loved everything about it
The wine ..food ...and the villas . I decided that I needed to bring a piece of Italy back to the US ! So I bought a house in the Helderberg Mountains ...(the landscape reminds u of Tuscany) that was built in 1760...on 5 acres of land ... I decorated each room a different part of Italy...I brought things home from Italy to put in the rooms and photos I took in Italy I blew up and hung on the walls !! My wish for you is to feel a little bit of Italy when u visit ! Also it was named after my great grandmother Lucia !

One of my favorite items is a game table I had made in Sorrento Italy when we visited last year ! It has routlette...black jack...chess & more !!! I also have many board games for adults & kids !

I’m so excited to let you know we just completed a beautiful outdoor kitchen & outdoor game area ! We have a large bar with built in frig & grill ...beautiful large stone dining table ..pergola ..fire pit...Bocci Ball court ..corn hole game..horse shoes ....croquet...& more . We also have a screened in gazebo outside!!its truly heaven on earth and sooo peaceful.

The house is great for fitting large groups. 4 out of the 5 bedrooms are very large fitting entire families in beds and blow up mattresses. The kids enjoyed the yard, covered gazebo and fountain all weekend. The patio and fire pit were great for the adults once the kids went to bed. Michelle was easily reachable. And the winery just down the street was very cute.

Hall of Fame Trip

Group of former teammates of Billy Wagner and a few family members in NY for the weekend celebration of Billy's Hall of Fame Induction. Inside and back sitting area with a fire pit were absolutely beautiful. Even though we were about an hour from Cooperstown, Michelle was able to help with a transportation option which made our travel time just as fun!! Due to time constraints, we were unable to utilize the grilling area, which we had planned to do, but we were able to hangout and talk old times!! Very secluded, which was another aspect we all loved!! We were talking about a possible return visit to Cooperstown and this home will be top of the list for our stay!!

Exceptional House Large FamilyAn Italian Villa that made for a memorable family time

An excellent choice for large families seeking a perfect setting that could have been in Italy. The owner has meticulously created a home, ensuring not only details were thought throug but the layout was perfect for dinner and plenty of space to spread out into small groups. The outside amenities made it feel like a part of the house and had both games, fire pits, 1st rate grill station and a wonderful gazebo. The pergola over the outside cooking (with full prep table) and dinner seating area was perfect. The owner was not only response to questions, she was quick to respond and to follow up. Highly recommend this home for renting.

Great spot for a group

Owner was very communicative and accommodating. Quick replies on any issues. Property is well-maintained and well-stocked. Beds are VERY comfortable and sheets and towels were very soft and in good condition. Unfortunately there was some damage to one of the AC units before our short stay that couldn’t be repaired before we left, and a few other small issues, but owner was very quick to respond. Upstairs water pressure wasn’t great but it’s a trade off for the nice space and privacy. Gorgeous outdoor space. Bocce court needs weeding but the outdoor kitchen, firepit and gazebo are all top notch. Would rent again!

The best place ever- calm, peaceful, beautiful

Michelle was very responsive from the beginning. Already- A great sign. We were 3 young families (6 parents, 5 kids, at the age of 1.5-5 year old). The house is beautifully designed. The kitchen, the backyard, and basically everything- was fully equipped with what was needed (and more). There’s so much room (indoor and outdoor)- so the kids didn’t go up/down the stairs and just enjoyed the (huge) backyard, and the nature that surrounds you. (And for us, the parents, fire pit, bbq, view, place for the kids to run and run and run). Great host, great place, great house (that feels like home. And like Italy :))- we can’t thank Michelle enough. Highly recommended. We will come back for sure. Thanks Michelle!

I choose Michelle's house for the photos on website. But, when we arrived, everything is better than the photos! We loved the villa style backyard and Michelle has been quick and go above normal range of help as a host. She even recommended and helped us find a great catering business, provide extra water and more. We love every bit!

Beautiful restored home with Italian inspiration

Fun summer weekend with friends. Spent the entire time outside enjoying the fire pit, BBQ and corn hole or cooking in the spacious kitchen. Perfect place to gather together and relax.

The house was amazingly stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. Lovely space to sit and eat outside. Bedrooms were nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. Also thoroughly enjoyed hiking in nearby Thacker Park.

Golf outing weekend

House was a great size and very nice, heat was deadly during our stay but with ac units in every room of the house that was no issue. All appliances in the house were very up to date and in perfect shape. Great layout for dinning with a large group. Would definitely stay again if back in the area and highly recommend for family gatherings, or weekend get seats with friends!

Awesome house

If you want to feel like you need an escape to Italy without leaving NY this is a perfect house. All rooms have their own stylish design and awesome details on every corner. We rented this house for 4th of July weekend and was great. There is a huge backyard with fireplace which it doesn't show in pictures and relaxing chairs outside. The game room was amazing also with a special table with roulette and poker game. Everything was new and beautiful in this house! I hope you enjoy as much as we did.
