Great place and location!
Was the cutest place and perfect for me and my teenage boys and their friends! Only 6 minutes from the ski resort and fit our needs perfectly! Will definitely stay there again, since my boys are already planning on it!
We loved the charm and coziness of this chalet! Plus the view! It is also only 1 mile, a short beautiful drive or walk to the slopes! Each morning the resident deer stopped by the back balconies to say good morning.
Stayed for a trip to Oz. House was just as described. Comfortable and cozy. Great view from the deck with nice sunrise. Quiet area, close enough to restaurants and shopping.
The cabin was amazing, everything is as it seems. My wife and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary here and will definitely return next year to celebrate our 26th. The mountain experience was incredible. The owner was available by phone to help me figure out the fireplace (it was my first time using one). The city is beautiful, the people were nice and friendly. I totally recommend it!!!!!
This place was completely filthy. Dead bugs in the coffee pot and in the bathtub. No AC. The carpet crunched when you walked on it and the condo had a horrible odor that you could not escape. The bathroom sink would not drain so you could not run water in the sink. The condo was overall very dark and dreary. The carpet had to have at least been 40 years old. The kitchen was poorly stocked. When I try to heat up appetizer in the oven, the smoke alarm kept going off. Nothing was burning, it just went off constantly. This is not a good rental. I would advise anyone to run from this place.

Hi Kim, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We were surprised that you left shortly after your check-in and did not return.
- We would've appreciated it if you'd communicated with us about why you didn't stay at our home. We wish you would have allowed us to resolve your concerns.
- We use a cleaning service to have the home professionally cleaned before each guest's arrival. We wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact right after you arrived if there were any issues you needed addressing.
- We would have done everything we could to resolve your concerns immediately so that you could stay and enjoy the home.
- The listing does accurately state that there is no AC available at this home, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard.
- We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs.
- The coffee pot that was available during your stay was brand new and cleaned the morning of your arrival. The cleaners take pride in making sure the entire property is cleaned.
- If you had concerns about the cleanliness, bringing it to our attention would have helped resolve everything so you could have enjoyed the home.
- We ensure all amenities are working before every guest's arrival. However, we are sorry to hear you encountered some maintenance issues when you arrived at the home.
- If you had reached out to us we would have quickly fixed the issues. We immediately sent our maintenance crew out after reading your review and can assure you that everything is fixed and in good working order.
- While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend!
Great place for ski trip with my dad and son! 5 minute drive to Beech Mtn. Roads getting to place were def your typical mountain roads but town seems to do a great job at salting and clearing the roads bc we had zero issues driving there. Seeing the deer every morning was so cool. Place had a couple of plastic sleds we took to the free Beech Mtn sledding hill (def recommend if you have kids). The view from loft and balcony was 10/10. Had to buy extra trash bags and dish soap, not sure if that’s expected though (I’m somewhat new to VRBO). Place had plenty of other amenities though like fully equipped kitchen with seasonings, cooking oil, etc. My son and I played several of the games (jenga, tic tac toe). The stairs were a little steep for my small dog but that’s more of a feature I didn’t think about versus an issue with the place. The fenced in front yard was perfect for her though :) It felt chalet-like with the big open windows and beams. The decor was cozy and cute, very cabin-like feel. Carpets were worn but clean (very kid/dog-friendly). The entire place was very clean and well-kept. No issues with heating (like others mentioned)…. we were able to stay toasty the entire time and it was in the 30s during our stay. Overall we loved our stay and I would 100% stay again!!
The home is a perfect size for the 6 of us. We arrived Wednesday night and the family fun started. Enjoyed a great thanksgiving meal. Surrounding area offered lots to do for all ages. We were allowed to bring our pooch. The front yard was fenced. Had a problem with the Wi-Fi but the owner came over in 10 minutes. Kitchen is fully stocked. Views are great but the unit could use a little Tlc. Very quiet even with people next door. Family room tv is a bit too high on the wall. Heat is very comfortable even though the temps went down to the lower teens.
We rented the property for the weekend to enjoy the fall foliage. The property was clean, and as listed. Contacted the manager for a problem with the toilet and it was promptly fixed. Nice views. Would stay again.
Outstanding Home and Location for Mountain Vacation
Our family can't stop talking about the wonderful stay we had at this home in Beech Mountain. The home is clean, well-organized, functional kitchen, amazing views, fire pit accessibility, and safe, comfortable conditions for any family. The owners are well-prepared with what you need for your stay, suggestions for any activity, and very responsive to requests. Simply wonderful experience. We will be back!

Great Weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The condo was nice, clean, and the owners were very helpful and very friendly!
Beautiful views from the deck, and the fenced back yard was great for the pups.
We'll definitely be back!
We had a very nice time skiing on Beech Mountain . The cabin was nice with beautiful views and ideally located on the mountain 5 min drive from the Ski lifts!
The owners are very clean and thoughtful and respond well to communication (calls/text). They live right next door and are available for anything. A+ stay.
Perfect spot for a family vacation on Beech Mountain. Fantastic views out the back porch, extremely clean, and close to many of the areas attractions. Communication was also fantastic!

Back to the Beech
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bear View Cabin. I haven't been to Beech Mountain since I was a child. Seeing familiar sites such as Fred's Mercantile pulled at my heartstrings! The cabin had a real feel of home and was tastefully decorated for the Fall season. The McMichael's were very accommodating without ever being intrusive. Our dog was even excited to be there and visit with their Scotties' in the wonderful fenced in area. While there, we rode the Alpine Coaster at Banner Elk, explored Mystery Hill, and visited Linville Caverns and The Blowing Rock. Everything was great. When returning to the cabin at night, we often saw deer. The view from the cabin was magnificent! Hopefully we will be able to return soon. I will say, if you have a mobility issue this may not be the place for you, as the steps are quite steep.
We already look forward to our next stay at this property! We wanted a comfortable, cabin-type feel with amazing views and we got it! The open floorpan and two-story windows allow for wide, long-range, gorgeous views of the mountains, sunrise, sky, clouds and trees from the kitchen, dining and living room area, but it still feels quaint and cozy. It's perfect! Coffee on the balcony in the morning overlooking the mountains and being above lower clouds in the valleys is surreal. Watching distant thunderstorms in the mountains and rainbows is like a dream. Evenings by the stone fireplace are warm and cozy after a cold day on the water or skiing. We also liked there is a bathroom on every floor including the loft. When we didn't know how to turn on the gas fireplace, we simply texted the owner and someone was over within five minutes to kindly take care of us! VERY excellent service! Beds were comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen perfectly clean and the carpet (which you very much appreciate when it's cold out!) was clean and soft under foot. We will definitely choose this place to stay again!
