Beautiful Cabin with Gorgeous Riverbend View. Great for fishing! Newly Renovated

Riverbend Cabin sits on a gorgeous bend in the Big South Branch of the Pere Marquette River. An open floor plan with expansive views of the river and a large deck to sit and enjoy the view. It has all the amenities that you will need!

Being that we are right on a National Blue Ribbon Trout Stream, Brown and Rainbow trout fishing is a great attraction but not the only one. You can also kayak or canoe the river or just float down on a tube. Sitting on our deck allows you to relax and enjoy the view. There are many small lakes around that you can visit and fish. We are about 30 minutes to the Lake Michigan towns of Pentwater or Ludington. which both offer unique shops, waterfront vistas and nice restaurants and bars. Ludington is also home to a beatiful state park with many miles of walking or bicycle riding trails. Hart is located about 25 minutes away and is the gateway to Silver Lake State Park and Dunes, a huge recreational complex situated between Silver Lake and Lake Michigan. You can go and climb the dunes and walk to Lake Michigan or ride the world famous Mac Woods Dune Scooters. To the north about 1 hour on Lake Michigan is Manistee, a quaint local village and home to the Little River Casino. You can continue to the north on the scenic M-22 roadway, which is a beautiful car ride along Lake Michigan and it takes you through small towns like Onekema, Arcadia, Frankfurt, Empire and Glen Arbor. Empire is home to the famous Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. At that point you are only a few miles from Traverse City. There are many local breweries in these towns and up north you have many beautiful wineries that offer very tasty wines and tours.

This place is very special for those looking for a beautiful and peaceful getaway. We all enjoyed the property with everything you need to relax in comfort surrounded by nature. We had so much fun fly fishing just steps from the grand deck, and all the nearby PM spots, our only regret was not having enough time off work to be there through the Chinook runs this year.

Beautiful property

The cabin was perfect for our family of four. We saw turkeys and deer daily, and the river was peaceful. I was also pleasantly surprised that it had internet and AC!

Early November long weekend.

Great place. Love the location. The river is beautiful. Wildlife galore. Deer, turkey, eagles, you name it. 3 of us enjoyed our 3 night stay. Loved everything about it! Highly recommend.

Great house, nice owners!

Nice clean fun loving place! Enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the river and watching the kayakers. Saw about 10 deer in the yard eating the apple trees! Had a good time hanging out with family.

This home is very beautiful! How could you go wrong with a home off the beaten path?! You can sit on the deck and listen to the creek below. We saw tons of deer and Turkey ! The location of the fire pit was perfect. It was just a great home ! I would definitely stay there again.

Fun with a view

This cabin is beautiful. We really enjoyed the view and listening to the river. The fire pit is perfectly placed and the yard was great for the kids to play! We loved looking at all of the wildlife on the property at all hours of the day! The only downside was the drive to literally go anywhere was minimum 45 minutes because the bridge was closed. Overall we loved our stay!

A Slice of Heaven

Our stay was a perfect combination of getting away from it all, with needed conveniences and entertainment not too far away. The house is beautifully rustic while offering all you needed for personal comfort. Pictures could not do justice to the view. Dave and Sue were such kind, gracious and accommodating hosts. We enjoyed having the chance to “show off” this great find to members of our family and long term friends who were able to visit while we were there. We are looking forward to a return trip.

Memorial Weekend Family Getaway

We really enjoyed this unique property. It has charm for days. It is right on the river. It is a little over 30 minutes from Ludington. There is also an inland public beach 10 minutes away. We kayaked, tubed, and enjoyed nature. The meadow next door was delightful. Turkey and deers all day every day. Our neighbors in the cabin with adjoining river access were respectful of the sharing the property, and we still felt like we had our privacy. I would recommend this place!

A slice of heaven

We wish we had more time here. The views and the vibe around the property were incredible. Sitting out and watching the river everyday was incredible and what really struck me was the silence and peace and serenity of the area. The only thing you really heard was the trickle of the water and birds. The inside of the cabin was exactly the vibes you would expect from a cabin but with a bunch of interesting old fashion artifacts. Thera a bunch of day trips you can do from the cabin. But expect to drive to get to civilization we stopped for groceries before we got there. It wa a really a special few days

Spring 2021

This charming little cabin was exactly what we needed to reset , just listening to the flow of the water will put you in a trance . My husband and I came up first and my parents followed a few days later for a bit of fishing and relaxation . Unfortunately the fish were not cooperative after a heavy rain the morning of their arrival 🙁🤷‍♀️. The owners were awesome with communication and made check in and out a breeze. We absolutely loved looking at all the fish woodcarving around the house! We cant wait to return someday💖.

We had an excellent stay! The cabin was at a great spot on the river for fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Check in and out was simple, the owners were responsive, and the cabin was well equipped and comfortable. Loved that it was pet friendly. We throughly enjoyed the porch, the quiet, and the views.

Very peaceful! We had a perfect stay and the weather was beautiful. Whether relaxing in the river or taking a drive it was a great location for either. You can get to a lot within 30 minutes. We took a day trip to Pentwater and Ludington to shop and take a ride on the Mac Woods Dune Rides. We also rented a raft at Hoxeyville Outfitters and floated the Pine River. Jones Ice Cream in Baldwin is also a must try especially the Mackinaw Island Fudge. I’d say the highlight was certainly relaxing on the deck with a book & watching the wildlife (lots of turkeys, deer, hummingbirds).

We rented this cabin and the one next store owned by the same host. It was wonderful. The river was beautiful. The host was very nice and attentive. Went to Pentwater to shop and to Baldwin for that a float down the pers Marquette. These cabins were comfortable and perfect for family. Had everything we need! We would definitely rent this again.

Weekend hunting

This was the 2nd time we stayed at this VRBO, great location, close to lots of public land and the pm river. We spent a weekend archery hunting and cooking up some great meals. Communication was good, great property! I could sit on the back deck and listen to the river every day. Everything was smooth with no issues. Would gladly stay again.

I am a retired businessman, having sold my packaging business 3 years ago. My wife Sue and I have 2 daughters who now have families of their own. We live adjacent to this property to the north. I have been coming up to these cabins since the mid-1960's when my Dad and his brother built the original cabin next door.

Why they chose this property

My Dad built this unique home in 1976. He had purchased a barn and then used a lot of the wooden beams and barnwood in constructing this home right on the river. It is grandfathered in and you can no longer build right on top of the river any more. They lived here over 40 years and then my sister has lived here for the past 3 years. We weren't quite ready to see it sold, so we decided to purchase it and to rent it out.

What makes this property unique

Right on top of the river, gorgeous views, huge deck to sit and enjoy the view, read a book or have a beer. The river is very wadable for you fisherman or fisherwomen! We have a good stockpile or Brown and Rainbow Trout, along with the spring and fall runs of Steelhead and the fall run of Salmon.
