Shipwatch pointe II condo
We have stayed at this condo site before through different owners and I have to say things have definitely gone down hill for quality overall. The pools, especially the outdoor pool was pretty gross. We avoided it and went to the indoor pool. The hot tub jets rarely worked but they did keep trying to fix them. The maintenance staff was scarce, overworked and you could tell the condos are suffering from lack of workers. There were several LARGE cockroaches in our condo that my husband had the pleasure of killing. Cockroaches seemed excessive this trip, maybe lack of spraying? We were dodging roaches the whole way to the beach this time, especially on the condo grounds. The condo itself appeared very clean. The light out back on the porch didn’t work so we couldn’t enjoy the porch at night unless we wanted to take a chance with the roaches in the dark. We had multiple issues within the condo including a very scary rocking bunk bed that was clearly not safe. It was bad enough we didn’t let anyone sleep on the top bunk until it was fixed. We also had a few other minor issues with furniture and a drawer when we initially got there. We called to report all the issues the first day as it was all found when we initially got there. Unfortunately the handyman didn’t come until 3 days after we got there. Lastly the condo instructions oddly request that you do not put the air below 70. Which seemed a bit much considered there were heat indexes into the 90s and 100s when we were there. It’s hard to have a bad time at the beach so we did just fine and made the best of everything but I don’t think we will be going through the same owners in the future. On an additional note, check in would be nice if it was a keypad like many other condos to avoid trips to and from the realtor office.
