Set on the very shores of the ever amazing and always breathtaking Gulf of Mexico, the cheery Hudson House is a beach bum’s dream! Two stacked patios – one in full sun and one under the shade of a pergola- provide fantastic views of Destin’s sparkling emerald water.

A span of soft white sand awaits the imprint of your family’s happy feet. Days in the warm sun and cool waters are only a few steps from the back patio and tropically landscaped backyard.

After a hot day on the beach, relax in the comfort this fabulous Destin Vacation home. A full bar with an ice maker and wine rack opens up to the living room and dining room. Exposed dark wood rafters, soothing Old Destin pastels, charmingly decorated bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen create the perfect start to memorable times with friends and family.

Moreover the location couldn’t be better! Not only is the Gulf of Mexico your backyard but the delicious Camille’s restaurant is right across the street. Plus the wildly popular Destin Commons open air mall and lifestyle center is less than a mile away!

Guests receive a welcome kit with small dishwasher detergent, dish soap, sponge, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent. There will be an initial trash liner in each receptacle and a set of toilet paper and soaps for each bathroom provided. Guests will need to replenish supplies for longer stays.

This property comes with 4 parking spaces.

We may require a minimum length of stay during the summer and over holidays.

We do not rent to anyone under 25 or to students. We require 1 parent for every 2 people under 25.

Hidden gem

The access and closeness you have to to the beach is wonderful. The views are 10/10, and the house has all the comforts of home. Our 2nd time to stay here, and we will be back.

Love the location and the way the lot is set up, it's perfect and private. Just remember, all bedrooms are upstairs so be ready for the stairs if you are disabled, as there are no bedrooms on main floor.

The property was beautiful and the view from the house was ocean front beautiful. The only thing the house needed to be pressure washed on the back patio and the upstairs deck. But we had a great time with family and we are ready to go back. The property managers were easy to communicate with and made everything very easy. Great place to stay

Our own little paradise!

This property was perfect for my family. Its location couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed the private walk path to the most beautiful beach. The only thing that would have made my children happier would be to have a pool in the back yard. Everyone was sad to leave….it was definitely like having our own little paradise. We plan to visit again!!

This house has a perfect location! It was so nice to be able to walk such a short distance to the beach. The house itself could use some touchups - new carpet, update appliances, touch up painting, etc. But overall, it was a nice house to stay in for a week.

So much space!

We enjoyed being able to spread out compared to most rentals. The lawn between the beach & the home was a blessing for allowing our children to play outside without dealing w/sand. Furniture is getting a little tired & kitchen dishes/glasses need replacing. Overall it was a lovely stay & a great location...another great Destin vacation!

Destination Memories in Destin

We love the location of this house. It was like a hidden gem in the heart of Destin. The house had everything we needed plus more. The beach was amazing. This is our first time to the area and we plan to return to this location and property. Only a couple of things to address so the owners are aware: the WiFi would time out every now and then which was fine because we had the beach :) also, there is a mid sized snake that lives in the trees in the back of the house but if you ask my husband, he will say it was dinosaur sized lol Thank you for helping make our stay memorable and wonderful!

Beach Trip

Our overall trip was fun! This was my first trip to Destin. We usually go to Gulf Shores. The beach and ocean were definitely more pretty! The location of the house was in short distance to any restaurant or shopping. That was awesome. The house though was not quite what I had expected. Listing said it was on a private beach and it was not. It was so crowded and people would come and set up their umbrellas in front us where we couldn't see kids playing. There was a beach service which was nice but people would take the chairs and umbrellas and you had no of knowing which ones went with the beach house. When we got to Destin we went to buy groceries and then went to check-in. We went to the beach after unloading and when we got back ants were in some of our food. We battled the ants off and on all 5 days. The other thing was there was no master bathroom attached to the room. I'm not sure if that was my misunderstanding. The upstairs bathroom is a shared bathroom for all three bedrooms which I did not like and would probably have not rented if I had known. There was a bathroom downstairs which was bigger and had a better shower. Overall the house was okay with a very short walk to the ocean which made it all worth it. Bedrooms were big and that was good. Just didn't care for the bathroom situation. Maybe I'm just being picky about that. It all worked out and we had fun. Thank you for the stay!

Don’t do it!

There is another review stating that when they arrived at this property, there was a “stench”..I assumed they were being dramatic and dismissed that review. It stinks! The moment we opened the door we were overwhelmed w the smell, which we later found to be sewer gas. We hoped it would resolve itself once we were in and out but it did not get better. Management could not move us due to no open properties. We had maintenance over multiple times, they stated this was not the first time for the same problem-that’s what upset us so bad. This is an ongoing problem that is not stated in the description. We endured the trip only because we were right on the beach, and there were no more properties open and the location is glorious. The property is worn and smells. Moldy vents, dirty floorboards, old furniture. As long as we were outside life was good..we tried to stay away from the house as much as possible, which was unfortunate for the $ price we paid. We got 1 nights stay refund. A full refund would have sufficed. So, if I haven’t made myself clear, this place is not as advertised. The pics are 100% better than the property. It smells of sewer gas, because there’s a leak. If you don’t mind breathing methane gas, wearing shoes or socks every free second (dirty floors), then stay here for the location. The location is all you’re getting—well you get a parking spot as well. Very disappointing.

Beautiful home and view

First let me say this home is Beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice. It's recently had new carpet and tile flooring put down. The grill was nice for when we didn't want to go out to eat. The view out the back to the beach was amazing and having the beach so close was great. We had a few issues over the week... 1. It was originally listed as having a private beach. This was not true. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon there was about 20 drunks 40ft from the back yard set up playing music so loud we could hear it all over the house. It took til Monday to deal with this so called private beach issue. There are apparently no private beaches in Florida. I believe the description has since been changed. But let it be known that beach services will set up chairs at the waters edge each day by 8am so if you want a "front" water view for your day on the beach you need to be up and have your spot marked. 2. Private Not So Private... the single family home offers slightly more privacy than staying in a condo. However this was not the case for us. Monday morning... I'm sitting out back having coffee and all of a sudden some guys walks in the back yard and starts weed eating. Tuesday mid-morning I'm laying out getting some sun on the back patio and yet again another guy walks up to check the yard for weeds Wednesday mid-morning we are both out back having coffee still in our pjs and we hear something that sounds like a leaf blower. Yep again some guy walks around the back says hey and proceeds to spray chemicals on the yard and didn't bother to warn either of us what he was doing. With that being said it would be nice if there was a gate or something so that these guys couldn't just walk up on guests as they are trying to relax. Or some way for guests to be notified that they will be coming. This house sits at a very busy intersection. So there is quite a lot of road noise. Mornings were the busiest but by evening it wasn't too bad. Overall experience was 3.5. Maybe we just had a bad week there but it just wasn't exactly what we had expected. Maybe next time will be better!

The house, the beach, the location were absolutely amazing! Loved everything about it. Actually, we raved so much when we got back home that my sister-in-law booked it for this August! Only problem was the A/C stopped working, we called the office as soon as we noticed. The lady said she would send someone right out. We hadn't heard back all day, so we called again just before they closed and they had no idea we had called. They apologized and did send someone right away. They got it fixed before we came back from the beach! The 2nd person called twice to check that someone was there and again to make sure it was fixed. Overall, amazing experience! Highly recommended!!!

Location is the reason to rent

I rate this 3 stars and the stars are for location and attentiveness of the property management team. I know their attentiveness, because we had to call multiple times various days of our stay. Main plumbing line was clogged and then there was a terrible, decomposing type odor. The smell was bad enough family members started to get nauseous. Company sent people out and plumber came back, b/c it was something with the kitchen drain. The house is very old, living room furniture is really worn. The location is wonderful though. You need to plan to be outside most of the time— Which many people will do. We had a great time, just would know to bring some sink/disposal cleaning solution with us to help battle the smell.

Fell in love with this home

My family did a get together for after December 28th until Jan 2nd making memories get together at the beach and we were not disappointed . The home is beautiful, excellant lay out for 2 families together , a total of 11 was there for 1 day and night. at a time , and had plenty of elbow room . I loved my mornings of coffee on the balcony looking at the beach and in the after noon and evening sitting outside on the patio enjoying the view. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal , a washer n dryer we used to keep all our laundry clean, the furniture was very nice and comfy to sit on, beds in all the rooms were great and also the sofa bed . Everyone in my family loved this home . Its located close to everything so ,you could walk to shops or resturants if you chose to. Some days I stayed there alone to enjoy relaxing on the beach or balcony while the others went to movies and shopping and I felt completely safe . I WILL rent and recommend this again and look forward to making memories there with my loved ones.
