This was a great spot for our family. The house was just perfect for our needs and the lake was awesome for fishing. We also really enjoyed the beautiful view and our late night campfires.
The cottage was everything we could hope for. VERY clean, VERY well equipped and supplied. Wonderfully private. Free firewood is a bonus that’s hard to beat! Only thing we wish was different is the climb from the lake to the main floor of the cottage, but there’s no way to change that. At least the stairs were in good condition, even if I’m not. LOL. Watch out for poison ivy around the property.
Property manager accused us of damaging her dock and shoreline 6 days after we left. She left a nasty voicemail, said our boat was too big for the lake, but she also said she never actually saw our boat. She had a sailboat on the other side of her dock that was bigger than the 18ft bass boat that we brought. She also said in the message that she didn't have a chance to go down to the water before the next people stayed. We have pics of our boat and how it was safely secured to her dock. We are insulted and shame on Susan for the way she handled whatever she thinks we did. Also, the cottage had cobwebs everywhere and the slow drain in the upstairs shower was a slip and fall liability. If you are considering this property make sure you take pictures of everything with time/date stamps when you leave, we actually left it in better condition than we found it.
We were refunded our money. Upon arriving, the place was found unkept and still dirty with hair and toothpaste still in the sinks. There were cobwebs in corners, and the sliding door filthy and dirt lined. The place needs a good, through deep cleaning The back deck needed to be swept and the furniture wiped down. The dock is not ideal for swimming as there are weeds and Lily pads. The property has cats that you are asked to not let in the house. My husband is highly allergic to cats and we were not told anything about cats until arrival. There was cat hair in the house. After a 3 hour drive, my parents turned around and left and went back home as they arrived the night before us. None of stayed and we were refunded our money.
Our family had a relaxing week at Fair Lake at Looncall Cottage! We enjoyed swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing as well as campfires and smores. Mom had a great time identifying the various flora and fauna, and Dad was appreciative of the solid WiFi.

Peaceful with a view
The cottage itself was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. Great views. But needs some TLC. Many burnt out lights. Dead bugs on many open shelves in the kitchen. The plate shelf especially, which I cleaned off and washed all the plates. The return vents are dusty and spider webs on ceiling light fixtures.
We had a bachelorette/birthday weekend getaway. It was such a blast.

Relaxing Getaway
This place was wonderful! The views from multiple areas out back around the lake were outstanding. We were able to have fun kayaking, having a fire, and fishing off of the pier. Plenty of room on the inside as well.
We had a wonderful time. Great amenities, easy contactless check-in process. And great value for the price. Highly recommend staying here and hope to be back soon.

I liked that they had a lot of amenities and the property was beautiful but the place needed to be cleaned a lot better. The stairs going downstairs were filthy. We would have loved to go out on the deck for our morning coffee but the chairs were so dirty that there was even green mold all over them. TV didn’t work downstairs. They were concerned about us using the fire pit but didn’t provide a way to put it out. We had to search for a bucket to put out the fire.

Filthy Cabin with a Beautiful View
The decks that over look Fair lake are a beautiful spot, the sunsets in particular were amazing. The kayaks and canoes were fun, and it was easy to navigate the glassy lake by boat.
That is the only positive thing I can say about this rental. The place was filthy. There were hundreds of cobwebs on every picture, light fixture and corner (hundreds is not an exaggeration). There was a thick layer of dust on every surface. The floors were so dirty that even after we vacuumed, the mop water would turn black after just a couple swipes of the mop. The kitchen floor and area had food crumbs all over the floor and counter. The refrigerator had food spills and the microwave had splattered food all over it. We found dog or cat feces in one of the rooms. We spent 10 hours cleaning this rental, it’s not the way we thought we would be spending our vacation. We have gotten no response to our distress emails to either Evolve or the contact email we were given.
