The shed
We weren’t ready for quite the rustic vibe. Chickens and peacocks wanted to come in the house. Hot tub was uninviting. Dark inside
Even though springbrook was “5” min away, it takes an hour to get to the park.
Wonderful for some people but not me
All the other lower star reviews - read them and don't ignore them like we did
The person we dealt with (no idea if owner or manager) judging from the responses and other reviews seems to think the paying guests are non-paying guests who should be happy to just stay there. We didn't use the spa - it looked pretty yuk - a dirty concrete thing with water that you had to wade through mud and animal poo to get to. The picture of the lovely outdoor setting must have been accurate a while back but now one one drape remains of the four -and that is literally hanging by a thread and is dirty and the seats are just plain rotten. The "best bit" was the clothes rack outside which was 100% rust. It looks to me like the conversion was well intentioned (the bath room and kitchens were nice enough) but nothing has been maintained. We left a day early - we considered leaving immediately but we were refused any kind of refund. We paid more per night for this "shed" than we did a beautiful rainforest retreat 40 minutes north the night before - complete waste of money. Judy and Paul
We really enjoyed our stay. It is such a unique and beautiful property! I would highly recommends especially with kids with all the amazing animals. Will definitely viait again :)
Jess has created a unique experience at the shed. With a big, comfy bed, and a beautiful vista, this well appointed, quaint location is a stay that will be well remembered long after your return to the daily grind.
Off the track escape, but u still have wifi, if u book the shed and are an early riser-open up the doors at both ends hit the strategically placed couch and the experience of the peacocks and other birds flying in with the gold coast skyline in the distance is not to be missed
Amazing place to take the family set high above the Gold Coast with an awesome country feel with loads of animals to entertain the kids. We stayed at The Shed and enjoyed every minute.
very operated for the price says sleeps 5 but one was on a mattress on the floor had to wash all China etc as some were found to be very dirty asked if we could bring a dog told no but when we got there found dogs were allowed all linen well used and not enough crockery etc for 5 people teflon on saucepans and frypans scratched and chairs in dining area had slight mold .ovley area and pool and hot tub very good
The property is lovely, the animals are a great addition, some of the maintenance is not being kept up - little things that add up: pools and spa needed cleaning, rubbish laying about that just needs picking up, light globes needed replacing, etc...
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "shed".
Days were spent sipping cocktails and taking in the stunning view of the gold coast hinterland.
The pool was a lovely was to escape the summer heat in the afternoons, followed by a quick dip in the hot tub.
Our kids absolutely loved being surrounded by the peacocks, ducks and chickens and Jessica (the host) was kind enough to give us a couple of containers of grain so the kids could feed the animals.
A lovely, relaxing place to stay.
Thank you for sharing your place jessica, we loved it.
Our family loved our stay in The Shed. The accommodation was perfect for our needs. The beds super comfy, loved the open air feel when all the barn doors open up to the outside. Had everything you need to be relaxed and comfortable. I especially loved our private outdoor hot tub. Five stars for accom.
The grounds are lovely... a true eco farm experience which our daughters absolutely loved. The animals kept them occupied 24/7. We only give 4 stars here as it naturally gets ‘dirty’ with the various birds around - peacocks, chooks and ducks. This didn’t bother us however.
Jess was always easy to get ahold of via text.
Would definitely visit again... only next tine for longer.
We loved so many things about this place. Great location, stunning views, unique accommodation and so many cute animals to keep us entertained.
We will be back!
We had a brief but fantastic stay at Jessica's barn. It was a beautiful place that was well looked after and the animals and views we're a huge bonus for our little getaway. We had plenty of privacy and. enjoyed being surrounded by nature. I would 100% recommend and cannot wait to be back here again in the future! Thanks Jessica!
A Luxurious yet Authentic Farmstay in a comfy converted shed.
The attention to detail the owners have put into decorating the converted shed is exquisite from the concrete polished floor to painted rustic wood panelling in the toilet. Everywhere you turn is some qwerky curiosity to catch your attention. Beautiful Linen, fixtures, light fittings. The half barn doors and full barn doors were a favourite, but I also loved the double front doors.
Outdoors.. the views were S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G. The goats and Ram and Alpacas were fun and cheeky. We fell in love with the Baby goat ❤️💞.
Peacocks, Ducks and Chooks roamed free and we fed them with the animal food provided free with our shed stay. (The Goats Alpacas and Ram ate it too) We collected wood from the property and had an open fire. Our dog stayed with us and was welcome. He was required to stay on lead near the house /shed and animals but was able to stay inside with us and share the furniture with us due to "pet sheets" provided by the owner.
Oh and the HOT TUB! ..... What a bonus
The Japanese HOT TUB by the pool is privately yours for your stay in the shed!! SOOOO relaxing.
Despite the "shed" being so close to the owners home, we thought it would not be so private... But it could not have been more private. I saw the owner once ... On check in.
Don't miss out on this amazing hinterland experience with outstanding views the GC skyline. You WON'T regret it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
