Beachside Exuma Villa newly remodeled!Great location near resorts & restaurants

Our villa is only steps away from the sparkling emerald sea. It is located in a private Cul De Sac with 8 villas.The beach in front of the villa is white and sandy, with relatively calm waters protected by Stocking Island. Good food and bars are just next door at the new Exuma Beach Resort and Augusta Bay. Only a 5 min walk to Jolly Hall Beach ( one of the best beaches on Great Exuma as well as the popular local Fish Fry where you will find the best BBQ ribs, fresh grilled fish and conch salad.

Newly remodelled one bedroom villa for a couple or couple with 2 children below 12 years. Brand new modern kitchen and bathrooms. Enjoy the airy living room with LCD TV, high speed WIFI, our fully equipped kitchen with microwave and oven or enjoy free use of our kayaks. Other amenities we have added include cable TV, hairdryer, washer/ dryer. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the living room has a queen sofa bed with separate bathroom. Villa is fully air conditioned but there are ceiling fans in all rooms. This is a direct rental by owners and not part of Hideaways.
Georgetown is just about 1.4 miles away along Queens Highway for shopping and groceries. Take a short taxi boat ride from Augusta Bay to Chat and Chill for its famous roast pig on Sundays and swim with friendly dolphins and feed a friendly pet sting ray called Sunshine.

This is a private vacation home and does not include hotel services, front desk, shuttle bus services or pool.

I do not leave this review lightly. The location was great, centally located on the island, and close to the beach. However, the unit itself was absolutely disguisting. Do not be fooled as we were about "newly remodeled". Sure, there's a couple "updated" areas and we were not expecting the Ritz given the price point; however, we were expecting a clean place to stay. That's not what we got. Every surface was gross. There was a smell, the water in the shower was brown, blood on the bathroom, door casing, the washer was rusty, dead large bugs in mutiple locations, fingernails in the pullout couch (where the the child was supposed to sleep), etc. Every single surface was covered with a layer of filth and some type of stain. Both my husband and 11 year old daughter began to itch. The host was so rude and aggresive and seemed so put out by our mere presence. My husband and I have traveled the world and this is by far the worst place we've stayed ever. We've never been so uncomfortable in our lives. Please don't be misled by this listing!!!!!

Cleo is an excellent host. She was very helpful answering many questions and meeting us upon our arrival. The place could use some updating, like a new couch and bed. The beautiful water of Exuma made it a great trip.

Cloe was very accommodating

The place was good for the price. Loved the location. Bed was big which I loved but a little too hard for me. Loved having the washer and dryer in there . The couch was very uncomfortable. Cloe said they are doing a full renovation in April can’t wait to see it all done over.

Great location!

My husband, myself, and my 6 year old son spent a week here in February, and it was a perfect size and set-up for our family. My son slept on the pull-out couch, and it was nice having the additional full bath in the living area for him. We had the small pool right outside our door, and he would swim every evening while we sat on the front porch. We didn't use the beach right in front of the villa, but instead used our rental car (which you will definitely need) to drive to a different beach every day. The location of this villa was perfect in that it was a nice mid-point between Little Exuma, and the northernmost point of the island. It was also very close to town, and within walking distance to many restaurants, which we took advantage of every evening. Angie was very helpful in securing our rental car for the week, as well as checking in on us throughout the week to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We fell in love with Exuma, and definitely plan on returning!

Prop mgr. very responsive before trip & upon arrival. Clean & fully equipped w/basics. Disappointed restaurant onsite closed for remodel & other local eateries only open on weekends. Beach scene in photo not beach at property. Very narrow ‘beach’ @ property not as pristine with seaweed. Villa is a dated cottage that does not face beach with 3 cottages between rrental & beach. Not allowed to swim in pool or use clubhouse, gym, or complimentary shuttle because owner not affiliated with HideAway association. Spent $20-$40/day on taxis to restaurants & well know beaches. Advise avoiding Exuma during slow season because of shop & restaurant closures.

We spent a week in March 2025 in this new renovated villa. This small villa is like a simple cottage. The villa is located on the grounds of Hideaways Beach Resort at Palm Bay. This villa is privately owned and does not belong to this resort. From the villa to the sandy beach it's only a few steps. Unfortunately, you can only use the Hideaways Resort's pool for a fee. The villa was well cleaned. Kitchen and both bathrooms are modernized. The villa is equipped with everything you need for a short or longer stay and for self-catering: microwave, stove with oven, toaster, refrigerator, freezer, filter coffee machine, kettle, blender, pots and pans, dishes, kitchen utensils, washing machine with dryer, hairdryer, linens and new towels. TV, air condition, fans and free Wi-Fi are available and worked well. There is no dining table on the terrace, only a small side table and two relaxation chairs. We enjoyed our coffee on the terrace with the view to the sea and the other villas. The bed was comfortable for us, we slept well. There are two kayaks in the villa. You can use them free of charge. The communication with Cleo was pleasent. She gave us a lot of information about shopping, restaurants and other. Should you have a problem, Cleo is also very helpful. There is a restaurant in the Hideaways Resort and you can also walk to the Fish Fry. There are many dining options. We usually ate at Krusty Crab. The food is delicious and the prices are good.

The best vacation I have ever had!

I can't say enough good things about my stay in Great Exuma. This Villa was perfect for me and my sister. We traveled with a few friends who were also at Palm Bay so it was perfect. The villa was exactly as it was described and looked in all the photos. It sits in a quiet area of the resort and it's only a short walk to Jolly Hall Beach (which was both beautiful and we were the only ones there!). We rented a boat while in Exuma as well as took the swimming pigs, nurse sharks and iguana tour. The water is so clear, you won't believe it until you see it. We spent most days playing on sand bars/banks as well as secluded beaches. We loved this vacation. It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. The washer/dryer was a lifesaver as we only had to pack a few items and just washed them up as needed. We even had a bar-b-que with some friends in another villa. Having two bathrooms made it so much easier to get going each morning. Angie was very helpful and answered all my questions. Kingsley made sure we had everything we needed while we were at the condo. I can't say enough great things about my stay at Saige Villa! We hope to go back again later this year! Thanks Angie and Kingsley for all your help!

intimate lovely cottage steps from the beach

we stayed at angie's place for a week. what a perfect setting. watching the sun rise over the waves gently rolling in. we used the kitchen a lot and hung out by the pool when we weren't exploring the island. it was an inauspicious start: there was no one to meet us at the airport (as planned) and when we arrived at the villa it was not cleaned. not ready. BUT: that was fixed in minutes and angie quickly offered to refund the first night's fee. how cool is that? there could have been a few more supplies, but given the arrival confusion, ok. some things to know; georgetown where there are groceries and supplies is about a mile. a taxi is ten bucks. for $90 we rented a car from thompson's right across the street from hideaways (which what the palm villas is now called). thompson's brother is robert of robert's island adventures. his crew took us on a half day pig-iguana-starfish-shark snorkel adventure. just five of us in the boat instead of 15... unparalleled. fish fry down the road is highly recommended. best food on island: santanas. next to best beach: tropic of cancer. take a trip to stocking island and pet the rays. just beware the bugs. we'll be back angie, thanks.

Relaxing Bahamas Destination in a Great Location

This rental Villa is a delightful place to spend a Bahamas vacation and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was pretty much just as the VRBO listing states. The villa is located near George Town and is close to everything; airport, markets and the government dock for the water taxi to Stocking Island. The kitchen is stocked well enough with cookware and utensils to make simple meals. There were plenty of linens, bath bathroom towels and beach towels provided in villa. The only thing missing was some paper towel for the kitchen. There is a safe in the bedroom closet, but I was shock to find the safe itself is not attached to anything. The villa is definitely the right size for two and could easily work for a small family using the sofa bed. Restaurants are near by, we loved Mahi Mahi and Cracked Chicken at Splash. The local Fish Fry restaurants are an easy walk from the villa and Shirley’s was good choice. Contact with owners Carole and Charles was easy through the WhatsApp and they were attentive to our needs. As a previous guest has mention in the reviews the villa could use a deep cleaning. It’s livable clean on the surface, but needs some attention to the details. The bedroom A/C unit was not functioning upon arrival, but after three unannounced service visits it was repaired before we left. The rental is part of a resort property with multiple villas and this is privately owned by Carole and Charles. Rental of the villa does not provide you with free access to the resorts offerings, this includes the pool on the property. The pool looked very nice and inviting, but we did not attempt to use it preferring to spend time in the ocean. There are kayaks in the villa which is good because you will not have access to those at the resort. It seems that there is a bit of turf war occurring between the resort owner and the villa owners. This issue was made very apparent after noticing a sign near the property gate that reads: "NOTICE" Villa #** is not included in the licensed hotel program/operated/maintained by the ******** LTD. Hotel insurance coverage/amenities are not included. For hotel/resort services register at the ********* (fees apply). Be aware unregistered guest may be considered trespassers by Bahamian law. Something to consider when renting. In closing everyone we met in Exuma was so very nice and friendly. The locals made our vacation wonderful. So all in all it was a good stay at this VRBO property

Everything you need

Things I look for in a vacation rental: 1. Value. Yes, this place is a good value for the nightly rate compared to others on the island. 2. Convenience. Yes, there is a bar and grill on the property that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner so you don't have to drive anywhere to eat or get a cocktail. Also, there is a full kitchen in the villa, and a washer and dryer. Wifi, of course. And cold air-conditioning. 3. Location. Yes, you are a 30 second walk to the beach where you can lounge and swim, and a 10 minute walk to Coco Plum beach which is a world-class, picturesque location. There are also several grocery stores and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute drive.

Property needs a makeover

The property itself to summarize it in three words needs TLC. The location is in a great area. This property is inside the Hideaways hotel but it’s privately owned so you cannot use any of the hotel amenities . I saw other villas from the actual hotel that were in way better conditions. The room was not clean enough it was very dusty and made my allergies worse. I wish I had cleaning supplies so I could clean the sand and dust myself. The room also had a weird smell all the time. To me it smelled moldy like humidity. The owner mentioned they had just recently painted although it did not smell like paint to us. This villa needs a makeover being in the exclusive beach location like Exumas it definitely needs more care. The only thing we enjoyed was the location since everything was close by and we enjoyed the outdoors more than anything else.
