Great vacation place to a family
Looking forward to next year to be in the same place God willing
We stay here every year, and it’s my family’s favorite week of the year. From our perspective, it just doesn’t get better than this house and property. Just wish we could stay longer!
This is such an amazing property. We were so happy with the house, the location, and the property owners. The kids were so entertained by the water trampoline and the boats. It was a wonderful vacation!

Thank you Shannon for keeping the place always welcoming and funCounting down to be there next year God willing.
2nd year staying at the property & love it just the same! Everything is perfect: view, location, nightly fires, great dock for our boat rental & endless hours of tubing. Not the mention the host is super great to work with.
Everything was amazing - from the home, to the property, and a view to die for!!! Shannon was a great host & was a pleasure to work with. See you next year
We loved our stay here. The house and property are lovely. We rented a pontoon boat and traveled to Fourth Lake and enjoyed the sand bar area. The kayaks and paddle board were great. The kids and their Dad spent lots of time on the trampoline, which was a huge hit. The boys caught some fish from the boat and the dock. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had dinner one night at The Mill, which we enjoyed. Old Forge is a fun town, but honestly we just spent almost all of our time at the lake because it was great.
Have been going to the Old Forge area my entire life. This was my families first stay at this house and it was hands down our favorite house/property and experience overall. Doesn’t get better in my book!
Our week on First Lake was wonderful. Everything I hoped for and more than I expected. Returning to my family’s history on the Fulton Chain was perfect and this home was a beautiful part of it….felt like home. Thanks we hope to return
This was our second year renting this house, and it was fantastic! This house is in an amazing location with a great dock if you are bringing a boat. The outdoor space is incredible: deck, swim raft, fire pit, kayaks provided -In short-everything you would want. The house is perfect, it’s large, clean and gorgeous. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook for your family. The towns of Old Forge and Inlet are fun to explore. For our family of 7 it’s enough space to gather comfortably, explore separately and relax. Perfect, perfect, perfect!!
After 20 months of not having our family together as a result of COVID-19, we were able to enjoy a fabulous week in this lovely home. The views are beautiful. My coffee won’t be as good tomorrow without the fabulous sunrise.
Our active family really needed nothing more than two weeks at Willoughby Point for our summer getaway. There was so much to offer right off the deck, we didn’t miss our usual hikes or a visit to Enchanted Forest. WP worked easily, indoors and outside, for a multi-generational family that ranged from a 5 and 8 year old to the outdoorsy grandparents. The kitchen is spacious, with a large window overlooking an iconic view of First Lake. The adjacent great room/living room, with its cathedral ceiling and sliding glass doors on three sides, was perfect spot for kids to play with the excellent choice of board games, and for the grownups to relax and enjoy views of the lake. The second level master bedroom was so quiet that the grandparents who wanted to sleep in a bit longer than the little early risers, succeeded. We found that many similar sized homes on First Lake don’t offer 3 bathrooms—a practical and much appreciated feature. The deck was a popular hangout spot throughout the day, for lunches and evening drinks.
The property, located on a point of land, is large and feels very private from the houses on both sides. Lots of lawn, an outdoor fire pit, easy access to the dock with minimal walking up and down (not always the case with lake homes) gives these features a ten! We are a boating family and rented a sailboat and canoe, in addition to using the kayaks provided. The dock is well set up for mooring all these boats safely. Sailing is phenomenal on this lake and the 8 year old became quite proficient as crew and sometimes skipper on the Sunfish. His favorite memory was capsizing in heavy air while sailing back from Third Lake. The 5 year old discovered fishing on the dock and was quite successful. The floating dock was a big hit with the kids, who often had lunch there. Just like Pippi Longstocking, the kids loved the rope swings on the small island, straight across the lake from the house. Loon calls and activity day and night will never be forgotten by every one of us! Since they are territorial, we think we might have witnessed a few “loon wars.”
My only friendly suggestion would be that a dining room table in the great room would be much appreciated. Dining at the long kitchen counter, with its view of the lake and some interesting boats, while special, was not quite the same as looking at each other across the table, while telling stories about the day’s adventures on the water.
The past few years we vacationed at the Maryland shore. Things could get very hectic. That was never the case in the Adirondacks extremely relaxing. Plenty to do at a very casual pace. The location was great plenty of room for outdoor games. The swimming was great. The home was clean and very comfortable
A beautiful vacation property that feels like home. Many ways to relax, whether at the water on the dock or raft, viewing the sunrise from the rocking chairs, sitting at the campfire making s’mores, or on the comfy deck furniture. Appointed rooms and baths in Adirondack themes. Great kitchen and island for meals. Everything was clean and organized. Enjoyed each day swimming, boating and taking in the views. Oh, and daily visits from ducklings and deer were an added bonus!
If I had 10 thumbs they would all be up! My wife and I enjoyed a magical week with our son, his wife, and four young grandsons at “Willoughby Point” in July, 2020. The online photos are accurate in conveying this completely renovated home as beautifully appointed, best described as “Adirondack luxury.” Beds were very comfortable, too! What is impossible to convey is the beauty of the lake and surroundings. Not surprisingly, in one of our adventures into town, we discovered that one of the best selling images at a local photographers studio was of the view we had each day from our dock. This has to be one of the most beautiful scenes in all of the Adirondacks! Deer and loons were DAILY visitors to our lake front yard.
From booking, to preparation, and throughout our stay -Shannon was an attentive, responsive, and gracious host. This home is perfect for families with children as well as adult couples. The “bunkhouse” room was a hit for our young grandsons. Morning coffee at the kitchen island with a mist over the lake is a great start to any adult’s day. The fire pit and Adirondack chairs provided wonderful family moments and memories as did the floating swimming dock and fixed fishing/boating dock. Many large and small mouth bass and sunfish were pulled from the lake (and returned) throughout the week by four 2-7 year-old boys. We also hiked the Bald Mountain trail to the fire tower and plunged into the lake from the small island rope swing. These are “must do” adventures while staying in this beautiful home! Truthfully, I doubt we would find a better property or owners than we discovered at “Willoughby Point.”
