Surf Rider - cozy modern cottage. Steps to the Beach!!


This updated beach home has everything you need to enjoy your getaway at the beach. Sit and relax whilst enjoying ocean views from our partially shaded deck.

With just a few steps to the pedestrian beach this home is ideal for small families and fisherman alike. The Surfside Jetty Park is a short walk away with its half a mile long jetty for fishing, walking, or just watching the large ships go by in the channel, sometimes you see dolphins playing right at the end of the jetty. There's also a small playground, splash pad, nature trails and much more located close by.

Surf Rider is a cozy updated 2 bedrooms, 1 bath home with central heat and air and a stacked washer and dryer. Main bedroom has a comfy Queen Bed (new May 2024) , 2nd bedroom has two Twin Beds. Sleeper sofa in the living room (new may 2024) Sleeps 5 (max 4 adults)

Bed linens and bath towels are provided. A modern kitchen, featuring granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked with everything you need to make delicious meals to be enjoyed at the dining table

Pets welcome with prior approval and paid pet fee

Come and an enjoy a slower paced life, relax and enjoy our little bit of paradise at the beach!

Please Note:

Pets allowed (2 Small dogs or 1 medium, No puppies , must be potty trained ) with a paid pet fee $100. No dogs on furniture, linens etc. or left home alone unless crated. We provide one small crate. No cats allowed

Maximum, occupancy is 5 including children.

No day guests unless have prior approval

Please note surfside city water is not drinkable/ or good to cook with. We do have a reverse osmosis unit under the sink which provides drinking water and there is a whole house filter so it is ok to bathe and wash teeth/ clothes with. We also advise bringing your own too

Due to being so close the Gulf/beach the area can change due to high tides ie. more sand on and around our property or on the road. Sometimes sea glass etc can be brought up by the tide, please take care.

Hurricane/storm Policy - We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect you against the unexpected including Hurricane/storms and COVID and any other unforeseen circumstances, no refund will be issues outside of our cancellation policy. Sorry, No date changes

We are located near the Gulf in Texas which can be very humid. Bugs are to be expected (mosquitoes, ants and palmetto bugs) even though we do spray our home regularly.

Property has a Security camera that covers the drive only and records with moved .

No Third-Party bookings, person booking need to be staying for the duration of the stay

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please take trash out to Blue trash can
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No pets on furniture/ linen. Not left home alone unless crated. Small crate provided. Pet fee $100 for 2 per stay Do not use a BBQ:/fire pit on deck
** No Parties or group get togethers .You will be asked to leave/loose deposit ** All guests staying at the property must be on the reservation.
Extra deep cleaning fee will be charged if smoking. Keep doors closed to prevent bugs/ heat in the home. No Rvs per city ordinance

We had great views of the beach, gulf and the jetty. We were literally on the beach at a perfect location. Our host Kat was fast to reply to questions and very accommodating. My sister and daughter both said Idid a wonderful job of finding a great stay.

We got an early check in, thanks to our Great Host, Kat! Spent our 40th anniversary here this weekend. House was perfect! Everything we needed was there. Only question we had was why was there no tv in the bedroom? It ended up ok because there was one in the bedroom with the twin beds. Queen bed was super comfy! We walked the beach and even went and explored the Fort. We downloaded the “Vessels” app and as we sat out on the beautiful deck we could see where the ships were from, coming into the harbor! Lots of fun! The house was super cute and very clean. The ONLY problem was the fact that the perfect weekend went by way too fast! We can’t wait til we can come back.

You can’t beat this location. You walk off the stairs and you are in the sand. Cozy house that is stocked with all the kitchen tools you could need. It was a very relaxing stay, which is what we needed.Make sure to download the “Vessel Finder” app. It was fun to see the ships coming in and look up the e details. This is a fantastic and quiet part of the beach. We at at the Seahorse and saw the crowds of the “drive on” beach, and I was very thankful that we stayed on the pedestrian beach. There are some storm damaged homes in front, but the view of the beach is fantastic. We enjoyed sitting in the adirondacks in the mornings and at night. It is also nice that th is home has a water filtration system as the Surfside Beach water is not drinkable or cookable. Great amenity.If you want to relax, this is the place to be. Kat was a great host and was very responsive.

On the beach

Cute little beach house, literally on the sand. Seashells were everywhere under and around the house. We were so close to the water we didnt even need to sit on the beach, we stayed on the deck. House was clean and well stocked. Lovely but keep in mind, it is a very small house. It worked well for my mom and I. The beach is public so on Friday and Saturday we did have quite a few people staying at the beach in front of the house but they weren't a bother to us. We could see the jetty from our deck and watch the massive tanker ships come and go! Can't wait to stay here again!

Great Little Beach House!

This house is a top of the line location. It’s small, but arranged very well. The host was very quick to communicate and when we couldn’t get the ceiling fans to come on, offered to come and show us how. (There is a tiny little slider button on the light switches!) I strongly recommend not parking directly under the house in a small car. Sand underneath is very soft and in the small rental car we had, we got stuck and had to get a wrecker to get us out. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay, though. I would definitely book this house again if we come back to the area! out. out.

Nice little place!

It is a nice little place steps away from the water. Short walk to the jetty and park. Only complaint is the driveway, the sand is soft and if you are in a small vehicle you might have trouble, my truck has no problems. Already looking to rebook the Surf Rider in coming months!!!

Right on the beach!

Nice little cottage with a wrap-around upper deck to relax and watch the waves and enjoy the tranquility. All the comforts of home provided. The queen bed was comfortable. Cozy living room with comfy sofa and 2 nice chairs. The upper deck has a gate to keep dogs in, although my chihuahua was able to slip right between the wood slats to go downstairs. The grounds are pretty much all sand outside, so be prepared to clean the sand off your feet before going inside. A sisal-type rug outside the front door would have been handy for brushing off sandy shoes and feet. Love the bench swing down below deck!

Amazing little house and location!

This property was great to stay with small kids and a teen who all love being at the beach 24/7! It was so easy to walk down to the beach with nothing and be able to come back to the house for breaks, showers and naps. The house was cute, clean and had everything we needed. We plan to book again soon!
