Our host was very responsive and gave such good instructions for the home and on how to get there. The views, the sunsets, the stars were amazing! The amenities were all you could ask for - such big fluffy towels and just about anything you need supplied in the kitchen. We loved our holiday there!!
It was our 3rd stay here, it was amazing as ever. A really cosy and comfortable house on a picturesque property. If you're looking for a relaxed get-away close to the beech then this is perfect.
We so enjoyed the stunning view, the quiet, the generosity of hosts in having staples in the pantry not locked away & cozy fire and comfortable furnishings.
Great stay for the family.
Great house to have as our base while we explored The Great Ocean Road.
Big enough for everyone to have their own space. Warm with amazing views.
We had an amazing 3 nights at Eyrie House. The views were spectacular, and everything was as described.
Loved the on property walks, as did our fur babies.
Andrew and Kathy were perfect hosts and very communicative with our questions prior to our stay.
We will definitely visit again.
Great house with amazing views! Close to Apollo Bay and Cape Otway! Also Beech forest ! Cozy place , great layout! Interesting walk around the property! Very secluded, will be back again!
We loved our time at Eyrie House! The views were spectacular - we loved watching the sunrise and sunset each day and didn't want our time to end. Loved seeing the bower bird and his incredible nest. Hoping we can return one day soon.
Amazing views from every room. The hosts thought of everything we might need. Lovely little superb fairy wrens are resident on the property and jump around the garden and balcony. Conservatory shower has an amazing view over the ocean. Beautiful waterfall as well. We had a wonderful holiday.
We went away with my family to celebrate my dads birthday and had the most incredible time at this accomodation. The 360 degree views are unbeatable - there is so much serenity & the fire places are just so cosy. We all agreed to make this house an annual tradition, if possible! Thank you :)
The property was delightful - everything that was promised on line. Views amazing. Everything one needed n the kitchen, the beds were very comfortable and with four of us each bedroom gave us space and more. The dog run was a wonderful addition and was much enjoyed by our dog and by us! A wonderful experience all round and we would happily return. Thank you Andrew.
Outstanding views. Pictures don’t do it justice. Greeted by a Koala low in a tree by drive. Two actually. So windy and they were very low in the trees. Comfortable and family says “spectacular” if a bit cool but weather is unpredictable.
One of our all-time fave places. Stunning views, quiet, beautiful access road, brilliant architecturally-proportioned solid house, with bluestone floors, lots of wood, and two fireplaces. Everything you'd want in a home-away-from-home including looking out at spectacular native gardens while you're washing the dishes. Love all the extra touches too, like the latest model coffee machine and Netflix-enabled big screen TV. Andrew went out of his way to accommodate all our needs and wanted us to be 100% happy with the holiday, which of course we were. Will be back as soon as we can.
This property was just as advertised. It warm and cosy for my arrival, having been heated ahead of time for me. I had a lot of trouble keeping a fire going due to the dampness of the wood, but managed to enjoy it for a brief time. Aside from that, the property is just amazing. The walk was an adventure, and definitely requires a solid footing and balance, with very good boots (which luckily I had!). I was also spoiled with a koala sighting which was the highlight of the trip. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful property.

Melissa was a delight to host, very friendly and communicative. Would recommend to any host!
We had a wonderful time at Andrew’s. We always stay at places with great view and Andrew’s is one of the best (even view in the bathroom ).The sunrise is magnificent and we are in for the 7 nights we were there so we could enjoy the sunset. The place is spacious for us and our 3 teenagers who love to have their own beds.Kitchen stocked up with everything you need to cook up a storm. Nice shampoo, conditioner and body washed provided as well as dishwasher, laundry tablets. We are planning our second visit in Autumn or Winter. It would be nice to have a cup of tea/coffee by the fire while watching the sun peeks over the horizon. Thanks Andrew for sharing your place with us. We really enjoyed our stay.
This Eyrie surveys the always changing, vast southern ocean from high across a deep, forested valley. Your view is awe-inspiring, uninterrupted from the huge windows in every room over three levels. But you're watching in luxurious comfort, from a beautifully open-planned and furnished house, light and airy when it's sunny, warm and cosy when it's not. A perfect perch for a very peaceful, private holiday. Our only problem? We didn't bring binoculars to watch the superb swell of the ocean to the horizon and the tiny birds in the garden below - and yes, an eagle. But everything else we needed was thoughtfully provided, and hosting by Andrew was impeccable.

Nice view but very very rustic
The view is accurate and beautiful. It’s very private and quiet which we loved and close enough to Apollo Bay for food options. However, this house is more rustic than we thought. Window screens were torn, rusty, and dirty. Climate control is a challenge. If it’s cold you have to use portable heaters or a wood stove. Internet was abysmal (3mps the whole time). Our cell coverage was faster. Property manager was slow to respond and never tried to fix the problem. This sounds trivial but after a long day you like to unwind and watch something. Low bandwidth made this a challenge and frustrating. We didn’t realize how old and outdated the house was going to be. Beware that the road up to the house is very windy and the road into the house is a very bumpy dirt road. Anyone with motion sickness problems will find this troublesome as we did. So if you plan to go out to the 12 Apostles and other sites (which are also windy roads) you may want to do it in one day to avoid the long winding drive multiple times.

Thanks for your review, Vic. I apologise for the challenges you experienced. You're right in that keeping warm is a challenge at the Eyrie, as we are at 300m above sea level and the top of a valley, but we have appropriate options as you say, although you omitted the bedroom oil heaters, open fireplace, and airconditioner. The wood stove and open fire are two of the 'rustic' charms of the property in most guests' opinions.
Regarding internet speed, I don't understand this. Generally we get in excess of 100Mbps. As I said in our communication at the time, I can only think that the large number of holidayers staying in Apollo Bay soaked up the bandwidth, or the modem just needed a reboot.
Can't do much about the windy roads unfortunately, that's the nature of the Great Ocean Road and the position of the Eyrie at the top of the mountain.
Thanks for staying.
