About this property
The Ridge at Joshua Tree
The Ridge is a two bed one bath 1955 home located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA.
We designed this space and nature trail to be a private desert sanctuary, a place to relax and reset in a peaceful environment. Listen to records, watch the sun set, read a book by the fire, bbq outside with friends, and walk the trail across the 5 acres that ends with sweeping 360-degree panoramic views.
The home was built in 1955 and is located right between the two major park entrances (10 minutes from Park Blvd in downtown Joshua Tree to the west and 15 minutes to the 29 Palms Inn and Park Blvd to the east). The entire property and nature trail with a vista point is on 5-acres of desert land, one acre of that is fenced surrounding the home. When we purchased the home in August 2016, it was barely being used and was completed outdated, but we knew it had so much potential! It took over six months to renovate (*second bathroom is currently under renovation now) and transform the home into what is it today, doing all the work ourselves.
The Ridge is a spacious and cozy two bed one bath perched at the edge of and overlooking Joshua Tree. The home features a large kitchen with dining area, living room with fireplace, and sunroom that complement the master and guest bedrooms. Stained concrete floor and white masonry walls are featured throughout for a very clean, solid, and open homesteader cabin feel in parts, while additions have expanded the layout and provide ample space to rest and relax around an open floor plan with a variety of comfort. Care has been taken to blend rustic and vintage with some new pieces to avoid any over-Ikea or creepy-kitsch vibe. From the sunroom, you can exit to the large backyard with a picnic table and bbq area (where the entrance to our nature trail around the 5 acres of hills and ridge can be found). Here you can often catch the sun or moon rising as it faces directly east. From the front of the home, facing directly west is the circle driveway and views facing huge sunsets, as well as the entire high desert basin and surrounding mountains. The seemingly endless views from the property, especially the ridge trail with bench on top, are what sets this property apart. The moonrises, sunrises and sunsets, stars and elevation make you feel alone and atop the world!
While you're staying here, the house will be your private abode. You will have access to the entire 5-acre property & nature trail with vista point (1 acre is fenced surrounding home), master & guest bedrooms, kitchen w/ dining area, den with fireplace, bathroom, sun room/music room with large smart tv, DVD player w/large collection of dvds, wi-fi, record player, organ, guitar & other instruments. Garage & master bath temporarily closed off (without any mess or distraction) for improvements--ready soon--thus listed as 1 bathroom for now. Patio area with charcoal BBQ, small fire pit, & picnic table also available in backyard.Be sure to check out the trail we made across the 5 acres of the property. You can enter the trail through the gate with the horseshoes in the backyard, and the end of the trail is marked by a viewing bench at the highest point. This has become our favorite spot to watch the sunset and stargaze.

No parties or events, photo shoots, video shoots, no moving of furniture without prior approval. No indoor smoking, drones, fireworks or sparklers, and watering of plants.

This home and everything in it means so much to us. Please be respectful of our home. Other than that...enjoy the desert life!
