Being an older home, designed & built in 1948 by our grandparents, there are a few quirks, much of the furniture is original, and there is white carpet in parts of the home; Glass tables & protective glass tops on tables, and while there is a railing for the pool deck & upstairs deck, it is wide & open. We are NOT child proof. We ask for each group to be respectful of the home and furnishings and to take care of it while they are here! If you feel your group may be hard on the home or expect all things to be new construction and updated, this home will not be a good fit.
Please do not book the home if you have any concerns your group will not take care of the space.
Please agree to the HOUSE RULES before booking. NO smoking or drugs NO parties or events NO additional guests than those in the booking NO pets or animals, et al. NO children under 10 yrs old.

This retro property had plenty of open space with spectacular views and outdoor access at every turn. The terrace views of the mountains and city were stunning. Our host, Michelle was readily available to answer questions, and check-in was smooth and easyLocated in a very quiet and peaceful setting yet easy access to Lookout Mountain's attractions.
This house is charming with fantastic views and in a great location.
We booked this house for my niece’s wedding on Lookout Mountain and it exceeded our expectations. The house is unique and has the most incredible views. The location is minutes from Rock City and easy to get to downtown Chattanooga. We highly recommend this house!
A perfect stay. The house was all we expected and very comfortable. The view is outstanding and the fire pit a highlight.
It was an ideal location for us to explore the surrounding towns and the attractions of Chattanooga
Our host Michelle was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and her recommendations were spot on. Communication was fast and easy.
Met up with a group of high school friends from all over the country. We had an absolutely amazing stay at this property! The location was perfect, offering stunning views that we couldn’t get enough of. The house was spotless and had everything we needed to feel right at home. There were 5 of us and we had just enough privacy for ourselves with plenty of space to gather as a group. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. We can't recommend this property enough!
Walking into the Retro Pad is like walking into an upscale Mad Men oasis. Beautiful original features and furniture are found throughout. There is a significant amount of art and vintage reading material, both of which make the experience very special. The pool is huge and it overlooks the mountains. The kitchen is modern and very functional. The beds are comfortable. There is plenty of room for 4-8 adults, easily - even those who like their quiet and space like we do! The setting is tranquil and elegant. We saw a number of beautiful birds and fireflies. There were sufficient towels, even beach towels for the pool. There was a variety of outdoor seating. It was a wonderful environment. If I had it to do over, I might just pack food to cook and not go down the mountain. There was enough to do in the house!
We love the house. It is charming and beautiful. The view is spectacular and the house has everything you might need. A lot of space and plenty of outdoor room. The owner is great to respond to any needs.
Our second visit to this property was just as magical as the first. The house and grounds are perfect for recharging. And the view and pool are truly indescribable!
Michelle is wonderful and readily available although we had no problems at all. Thanks much!!!!!!
Gorgeous house and pool. Great location that is well-situated for day trips into downtown Chattanooga, but still feels very private and quiet. Communication with the host was exceptional.
This is an incredible house with custom furnishings, art and architecture. The history of the house makes the experience very special. Plus the pool and view are truly indescribable. The plush grounds evoke serenity. Also this was the cleanest VRBO property that I've experienced. Thanks for sharing this jewel!
The pictures do not do the home and experience justice. Michelle communicates beautifully and thoroughly. The history of the home and location tugs at our hearts every morning when watching the sunrise over the mountains. Extremely close to additional activities, but hard to leave the simple beauty of the view, pool and patio. Many amenities and extremely clean! We will be back and stay longer next time!!
The home is as incredible as the views and has its own Unique personality. Immaculate and private, with close proximity to everything Chattanooga has to offer, in addition to all of the nearby state parks and hiking trail in both Georgia and Tennessee. It’s hard to leave.
The owner is extremely easy to communicate with and very available. The price may seem high at first glance, but when you see the place, you’ll realize you get what you pay for. We plan on going back. Highly recommended.
