Great Thanksgiving Stay!!

House was as described. Just across the road to the private path to the very clean beach. Very quite neighborhood but the street has a fair amount of traffic on it most of the day.

Beautiful home, comfortable for the whole family!

We had a whole family and even our fur baby, and this home made it comfortable for all of us. The home did have a few maintenance problems that the rental office went in and looked at, but they were very accommodating and this this not affect our stay at all. We truly enjoyed our stay!

Just what the doctor ordered

We were two families of 4 people each and had a lovely stay together in this home! It was nice to have our separate spaces as well as a common area with a view of the ocean to enjoy together. It was a bit chilly (end of March/beg of April) but we were still able to enjoy the beach because it was so close, and inside the house it was warm and cozy. We were also very close to stores for the quick grocery run, etc. I would recommend this house for a relaxing getaway!

Nice house with ocean view

My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. Easy access to and from the beach. Plenty of room for everyone. Sitting on the porch enjoying the ocean view was our favorite part of the house. The only complaint we really had was the lower level of the house smelled very musty upon arrival for the first couple days and the fridge and freezer upstairs had a very strong fish odor. Other than that it was great!

My sister was across the street with her big family. Great reunion with loved ones we don't often see. Lot's of teenagers and they had a wonderful time. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was dirty from previous tenants. There was sand and dirt everywhere when we arrived. There was a dirty dress on one of the beds. There was drug paraphernalia in the outdoor shower. The stoves burners did not sit flat. The sliding doors were rotting and need to be replaced because they wouldn't stay closed. The rental company said they would come back out to clean during the stay and when I asked when, they never responded. The house needs a lot of work.

Great location

The location is perfect. Close to the beach and stores. Started out our stay feeling scammed. The listing states dogs allowed with no qualifications. The contract states only adult dogs. Listing has checkin as 4:00 but checkin is maybe 4:00 but actually 6:00 which was a problem for us. When I contacted the agency, they were unhelpful and unconcerned. The price in the listing was reasonable for an older home. The property was not worth the price it ended up being with all the added fees. The house is very run down and basic maintenance has not been kept up with. There is still a broken board on the back deck which had previously been reported. The dish washer still has problems which had previously been reported. Location is great and property is rundown and not worth the price. I would not rent this property again or rent from this agency again.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I have been going to OBX for the last 20 years and have never had any issues with where we stayed. The Positives- clean beds and clean bathrooms upon arrival. The negatives- upon arriving we were able to get in an hour earlier than expected which is a plus but the downstairs definitely was never vacuumed there were dried up bugs all along the corners of every room. Day two we started noticing cockroaches and called about getting someone out to spray bc not only were we grossed out but our children were scared. No one ever came to spray. The master bathroom toilet leaked everytime it was flushed. Over all here are updates that need done. There are some updates pieces of furniture but overall a lot of quick band aid fixes to make it just appear okay. I did reach out to the homeowner but never heard anything back.

Ashooh Family Review : not the same rental

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were really looking forward to this vacation as we had stayed in this exact Home a year prior. Sadly, we were very disappointed on arrival. The house was not clean and disheveled not as we remembered a year prior. A roach was found on the ground floor master bedroom . The house was almost 90 degrees. After making multiple calls to the realty center we discovered A/C had been broken for several hours. Window units were finally brought over at 6pm 3 hours after our initial arrival. The initial technician sent to the house was very rude, not helpful to situation at all. I’m very saddened to say we won’t be booking with this realty again. The house was much better managed when through AIRBNB. We also deserve a lower rate for first night as we had no AC for several hours in 90 degree heat.

Reviewer Comments: We were dissappointed with our stay at Out of the Blue because the pictures did not prepare us for the general dilapidated condition of this house. The roof was recently replaced but they have done nothing to address the overhangs on the front porch and deck which were rotted with layers of plywood peeling off. It looked like it hadn't been painted in a very long time and there were a number of dark spots that made you uncomfortable spending too much time sitting there. The vinyl flooring in the kitchen was badly warped and appeared to have had some water damage. The front of the vanity in the master bath was so worn it looked like it had been through a hurricane. One of the air returns was completely clogged with dust. Lastly, there was not a single piece of toilet paper to be found in the house when we checked in. We had assumed there would be at least one roll in a welcome bag, but there was no welcome bag. Not impressed!

The front porch was where it was happening. Nice ocean views and very relaxing. Back deck was great in the evening. I was very happy with the house. It was very cozy. Couch was very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and the master bed upstairs was very comfortable. My pup enjoyed being out on the deck and I really liked the pocket doors to segregate her upstairs from the downstairs. The house was clean and all the appliances were functional. The property management company was very friendly and addressed all of my questions? I would definitely return.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we enjoyed being so close to the beach and ocean. The views from upstairs windows was lovely. The layout is nice and the furnishings are comfortable. I liked that there was a game table upstairs, separate from the dining table. Overall, we enjoyed our time and found the kitchen was fairly well equipped!Like other reviewers this summer have said, there were elements of the house that were tired. If the upstairs living room couch and chair are slip covered, as they appear to be, then a monthly wash would go a long way. The furniture is comfortable, so we just covered them with sheets to cover the summer dirt. dishwasher was new, but is not anchored into the countertop due to the age of countertop. And, the painted countertops were a real turn off! The paint was peeling. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but the price seemed a bit high for a house that seemed so tired.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of this house. The front porch is great but property maintenance is very poor. The floors were not even property vaccumed when we checked-in. When we called maintenance someone came and vaccumed upstairs but not downstairs. Dish washer did not work during the entire week and inspite of calling the maintenance they did not even send the appliance person to repair/replace. Toilet in the master bed leaked water! The place looks nice in picture but it's not as clean/maintained. For the rental price this house has, I would not recommend this house to others.
