What a spot!!! Great winter retreat with a cozy yet ample living area. We loved sitting on the couch in the afternoon as the sun streamed in the lounge windows. Oh, and what a sunset!

Great communication and ease of booking. The house is bigger than you can imagine and the sort of place that you want to rent all summer. Four big bedrooms, three full bathrooms, the lounge is set up open plan and prefect for hanging around even on a rainy day with the amount of books and games available. Direct access from the outdoor area onto the lake. Only a small driveway for two cars if you are bringing the whole family but there is a small car park at the end of the road. We will certainly book again and this time take a bigger group now we now. Centrally based on the lake giving easy access to all the activities available in the region. Thank so much.

This property seems to be a much loved family holiday home - and is showing signs of that.
Pros: Location - fantastic, communal living area - large and able to accommodate a group, beds comfortable and warm with plenty of bedding (bring a hot water bottle if you feel the cold), log fire - a great asset and lots of wood available, kitchen - everything you could need.
Cons: Shabbier than photos - wallpaper peeling off, curtains hanging off rails, lamps either not working or no lamp shades, lakeside outside area - could do with a bit of a tart up - waterblast etc, bathrooms - master ensuite ok, others definitely showing signs of age.
Major issue was the fridge was not working. 3 phone calls to Bach care before we were contacted by property manager Caz. She was amazing. Couldn't do anything about the fridge but gave us access to another one that was behind a locked door. Unfortunately this one was not much better and never got cold. We had to utilise the laundry room which was internal and cold to store our supplies. Sadly they didn't all survive and we have to discard some items.
The heat pump was not working correctly - it was stuck on cold. Caz sadly could not fix this either. Thankfully the log fire was more than adequate to heat the living area.
Perhaps some heating in the bedrooms other than small blow heaters would be nice.
Would be a fabulous place in Summer.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We truly appreciate your honest and detailed feedback.
We completely understand that the vintage character of the home may not have been the best fit for your family. The property does carry a certain nostalgic charm, but we know that the age of the furnishings and appliances, as well as some quirky aspects like the power circuitry, might not be to everyone's taste. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by these issues, and we will certainly look into resolving them to improve the experience for future guests.
We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the space, location, and the stunning views from the balcony. The setting is one of the property’s standout features, and we’re happy you were able to enjoy it.
We completely understand that, for your family of six, the overall experience may not have met your expectations, and we genuinely appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continue to work on improving the property and making it as comfortable as possible for all guests.
Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope you will consider visiting again in the future. We’d love the chance to offer you a more comfortable and fitting experience.
Beds nice and clean and comfy. Lots of space with a very relaxing atmosphere. A little bit of road noise, but the views make up for it. Thanks for a great stay!
Three generations met up at the bach. There is lots of room for everyone to have time together as well as find quiet spaces. Fabulous view, and we all loved the big fire place.
Taupo put on the best weather it possibly could, Swimming outside was even easy without wetsuits and was safe for the children. Did have issues with the internet being intermittent, but that only made the board games late night entertainment. Did put a couple of holes in my socks from protruding nails on the deck, but no other issues.
Lots of photos and fond memories. Cheers.
We all enjoyed our stay at Waitahanui Lakefront Escape except minor setback with power tripping when two appliances were going together at once, which we easily resolved it.
Neat and tidy place, hear pump and fireplace. Spacious rooms. Cazna was helpful and good communication. Quiet neighbourhood, 14 minutes to supermarket. Overall an awesome trip. We will return.
Cheers
