Great Location but Basic Home
Waratah Bay is one of my favourite places and whilst not beach front, it is only a few minutes walk to the beach. The house has many areas locked away, including a whole bedroom and many cupboards in the kitchen. It is an old house but basic and functional. If this house was located anywhere else, you wouldn't pay this money to stay there, as it aint that great. Dealing with the property management company was very impersonal and they inundated us with so many emails, many of which didn't even apply to our booking / circumstances. Having said all of that, given our love for that area as a holiday destination, we would stay there again, but hopefully we would find something else a little more updated.

Positives - Waratah Bay location, short walk to beach, outdoor deck, good range of family games, kitchen crockery etc well stocked Negatives - safety and cleanliness/ hygiene issues - mould in shower recess, top bunk bed not compliant with current Australian safety standards (Getaway Property Management has subsequently advised this issue will be addressed after our written complaint), large brown stain on one mattress protector, blood like staining on one of the doonas. Limited storage space in kitchen for own groceries as all potential food storage cupboards are locked and therefore inaccessible to guests (need to rearrange a few kitchen items from one of the other cupboards to put in personal food items if you don’t want your own food etc. stored on the bench for your stay). Frustrating at times not to be able to properly close the main bedroom door due to the single bed in this room physically preventing this.
