Airy comfortable 3 bedroom house on 1 acre of land, peaceful quiet bird haven, with views of fields, hills and forests.

Living room, dining/ kitchen, and a small sitting area opening on to a deck with views of fields and coastal reserve.
Polished floor boards in living areas.
3 spacious bedrooms, 2 with queen size beds, 1 with 2 single beds, all with picture windows on to the garden.
Furnished with simple but thoughtful care by architect owners.
Superbly oriented to watch sunrise, sunset on the deck, and sun all day .

We had an excellent stay at John & Jennifer's property. It is the perfect place for relaxing in between visits to the nearby national park. We loved having the Shallow Inlet trail around the corner - it was actually one of our favourite walks! The local supermarket is well stocked, and the kitchen is equipped with everything needed to self cater. We had a couple of small issues pop up but John was readily available and it didn't impact on the overall enjoyment of our stay. Plenty of space for the kids to roam around, and sunny spots to read a book. We hope to come back some day.

Really enjoyed the homey feeling of staying in John and Jennifer's holiday home. The rooms were warm and comfy and the kitchen well stocked. The location for going in and out of the park was excellent, and the small walk through to the inlet was beautiful. Any questions were quickly answered.

Inlet cottage

The cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated, in a great location. Jennifer and John were fantastic owners, quick to respond and assist with everything. Our stay was way too short. We hope we can return one day.

Hiding from the Hectic

Wonderful place/space to spend time; particularly when the weather closed in. Family of four - lots of incidental spaces to read / do puzzles / ponder / not annoy your sister. Full size amenities - so easy to prepare meals / store food. Very easy access to Prom walks and Tidal River as well as the communities/townships around.

Basecamp to the prom

This is a great place to stay. Well equipped kitchen and everything else you need for day trips around the area and/or longer hikes into the prom along the coastline. Nice and quiet, with Shallow inlet access a stone's throw from the property.

Close to the Prom

House was quiet and ideally located for our visit to the Prom. Not upmarket but adequate for our needs with space to accomodate all our guests. So close to a beautiful beach!

Great stay and access to the prom

We loved our stay at this cottage. It was very comfortable for a group of 5 adults and it was well equipped and decorated. The location is fantastic as a base to Wilson's Prom. Would definitely stay again. We just found it rather odd that towels were not provided (we knew to expect that but still it is inconvenient).

Fabulous

Great house in a beautiful location. Very well equipped and presented, a well cared for holiday home. Owners very approachable and friendly, sorting out some minor snags and local difficulties (power lines down due to fallen tree!) with great efficiency. Would highly recommend.

A hidden gem

Great hosts and very comfortable and clean cottage in a fantastic location and only an short drive to the main access to Wilson’s Prom. An evening walk down the nearby lane will take you to Shallow Inlet the only other entrance to the Prom for beautiful coastal walks and the most amazing sunsets. Highly recommend.

Nice but expensive stay

We had mixed reviews on this place. It is a cottage, so don’t expect more. Although the host were very communicative. Left us a nice bottle of wine on the table. The fridge really needs to be replaced. After booking, we were told that we had to pay an extra 5 p/p for body towels. A great positive is that the beds were very comfy. The sink in the bathroom was not clean at all. Like I wrote before, mixed reviews. Way too pricy for one night.

Be prepared

Our stay in Yanakie was lovely but difficult in that we were not travelling with extras such as international phone plans, ability to hot spot, extra towels, face cloths, hair dryer, shampoo, etc. Small pleasures that most VRBOs provide. Communication with the owner was difficult and after arrival at the house we had to drive many kilometres to get reception to call the owners who were busy and could not respond with the code. This could be easily solved by giving the code earlier than check in time. The house itself is an older farm house and we blew a fuse right away charging phones. We didn't figure out the fuse box for a day so had to use outlets in the laundry room until we figured it out. The fuse box being out side and around the corner. The bedrooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. The day beds in the main area need replacing.Despite the difficulties for the tired and unprepared, it was a lovely stay in the country. The owner graciously left us a bottle of wine which made the difficult parts better.

Not what I'd expect for the price

The place covered the basic amenities but I would've expected more at that price point. Most importantly it desperately needs a proper deep clean. It's very dusty and hasn't had one in what looks like a long while. On top of the fridge / in the portable heater vents as an example. There was not wood for the fire, and the fire hadn't been cleared so was piled full of ash. Not that we were there to watch TV but it could do with an update as it's older & small. It has potential, and the bed was very comfortable ( hence 2 stars not 1 ), but having stayed in places that make a lot of effort with bread / milk etc this place just didn't. The fact there is one store & one pizza place within 30 minutes means you need to stock up. Considering that for guests and having some basics would go a long way.

De locatie is geweldig, de hosts zijn erg vriendelijk in het contact. De huur van het huis zelf is wel duur voor de staat waarin verkeert. Dit was ons duurste huis van onze reis, maar de faciliteiten zijn gedateerd. Geen wifi, geen goede verwarming. Je moet ervan houden afgelegen te wonen. Dan kan ik me goed voorstellen dat je er heerlijk tot rust kunt komen.

Peaceful stay near the Prom.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Homely feel with nice personal touches. We enjoyed some gorgeous sunsets on the veranda and walks to the inlet. We had four people stay so it was also good value.

Good rural location

This cottage is well equipped, unpretentious and perfect for a family vacation. So much space for kids to run around and make noise without fear of disrupting neighbours. The natural beauty of the location with just a short walk to Shallow Inlet is outstanding. There was an ongoing issue with the tank water which the landlord went to pains to remedy and kept us informed of what was happening. We also had an issue with the washing machine, but none of these things detracted from our enjoyment of the property or the beautiful area. Thanks John!
