Beautiful Lake Front Cottage

Typical older lake house that has been updated somewhat. Awesome lake views, and it’s located directly on the lake just a few steps from the house. We loved the screened in porch and back yard. A very quiet place.

Great Long Weekend

Everything at the property was as expected based on the listing photos. Host was very accessible. We left an expensive set of headphones behind. Host and cleaning staff found them and promptly shipped them to us. We had great stay and enjoyed the view! Would definitely stay again.

Great Experience

Our family of four stayed at this cottage in Carp Lake and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable. We made good use of the dock for our boat and took the kayaks out a few times as well. Communication with the property manager was prompt and the location was close to the things we wanted to do during our stay. Highly recommend!

Peaceful lake cabin

If you want to enjoy a cottage on a beautiful and peaceful lake up north, this property won’t disappoint. Although the kitchen is tight, and it lacks a washer and dryer for laundry, it is a cozy cabin. The location is just 10 minutes from the Mackinac City and the Bridge which was a real plus! Supplied firewood and kayaks provided a nice touch as well.

Clean, comfortable and totally relaxing

Wonderful and accessible location on northern shore of Carp/Paradise Lake. Modernized older cottage with all the amenities needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Kayaks available for excursions on the lake. Gas grill, picnic table and fire pit with wood for outside enjoyment. Big flat screen TV, gas fireplace, big comfy chairs and couch for indoor relaxing. Best place though is the screened-in porch overlooking the lake listening to the waves, breeze and birds. Totally loved our stay...Thank You!!

Nice Lake & Location

We enjoyed our stay at Copper Water Cottage and it was very convenient for day trips to the UP and Mackinac Island. Encountered a few housekeeping issues but communication with the property manager to address those was quick and easy. The lake was lovely and very quiet. Screened in back porch was comfortable and made it easy to keep an eye on the kids fishing off the dock. Kayaks were great, too. I would just caution anyone who is mobility-impaired since the slope and stairs down to the lake are very steep. The indoor stairs to the bedrooms are also steep and not ideal to navigate at night to access the bathroom on the main level. Internet/cable/streaming were all great speed, and a/c worked well.

Few flaws, but cute Up North Place to stay

Overall, the pictures in the listing accurately described the cottage. It had the "up north Michigan" feel to it, but definitely had some room for improvement. Our family of five traveled for three nights. There was only 1.5 rolls of paper towels, 1 trash bag, and 2 rolls of toilet paper provided (on listing stated items would be provided). I would recommend bringing additional supplies for any longer stays or large groups as we did run out of them quickly. The dock to the lake was beautiful, but there were only 3 working kayaks (fourth kayak does have a leak in it). The outside hose also does not work, so there is no way to clean yourself or equipment off before heading inside. Our biggest problem with the place was cleanliness. Upon arrival at 5pm, the cottage still had not been cleaned from the previous stay. The rental company was prompt at communication back to us and refunded part of the cleaning fee, but they said they knew about the problem since 3pm. We wish they would have communicated with us a delay in check in time so we could have made other arrangements while traveling up north to optimize our time. Once the cottage was "cleaned" and we were allowed back in at 6pm, there was still used towels left under the sink, crumbs and goldfish around the furniture from the previous stay, and dead bugs and spider webs in the corners. Overall, the rental was in a great location near Mackinac Bridge and Lake Michigan, but high cost for rental and a cleaning fee for the quality we received.

Overall was a perfect place to stay for our short stay.

Overall was a perfect place to stay for our short stay. Lake is beautiful & peaceful, no noise & very little traffic. Tried to do some fishing, but lake is very weedy and didn't have any luck after trying many different spots on lake. The Roku was frustrating to use since we weren't familiar; wished we could have gotten local channels for the news/weather. But all that was all minor. We really enjoyed our home away from home.

Fun

We were visiting mackinaw city and found this place to stay. It was sweet and quaint. Loved the location and the general store not too far away. It had all the space our family needed. Pretty lake. And an outdoor grille. Enough beds for all. Nice and spacious. Furniture was clean. Bathroom clean and well stocked with towels.

Beautiful Spot.

The only negative is monitoring of cameras while we are there. I understand monitoring cameras, while the home is vacant. There is absolutely no legitimate reason to monitor cameras when the home is occupied, short of spying or snooping. Outside of that, I couldn’t ask for more, except a bathroom upstairs. Very nice property in a very beautiful locale.
