Starlight Poolside ~ 1 bedroom suite

The Starlight Poolside is a stylish suite in the lower level of my detached house in Coquitlam's Ranch Park area. The oversized sliding doors overlook the pool area. It is peaceful to look out on, and there are sheers to allow privacy if wished. The area is a great hub for all lower mainland attractions.
Many enjoy poolside time before or after a day of sightseeing. POOL IS OPEN JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER. The outdoor area has a table/chairs, barbeque and 2 lounger chairs allocated for the poolside suite. The pool is heated and ready for use June through September. There is no fencing between the entrance door and the pool, and there are side yard stairs to the entrance from the gravel driveway. The poolside suite is not suitable for children, or people unable to climb stairs for these reasons.

Inside the newly built suite, you will notice the open floorplan, quartz countertop eating bar area, microwave, induction cooktop, and a large Breville toaster oven. (There is no stove/oven) There are plenty of dishes and cooking utensils available.
The gorgeous floor to ceiling tile spa-like bathroom has a nice soaker tub for the needed evening relaxation! Dim down the crystal lights! Large sliders open to the pool deck, for a tranquil view. No need to think about bringing towels, pool towels, soap, shampoo, etc...as all are provided here.
The bedroom has a large king bed, which can be split and I can make into 2 twin xl beds! Let me know ahead of time. The mattresses are super comfortable, and guests have said that the suite is very quiet! Nice. The 'safe and sound insulation' that I put in works!
Wifi and Netflix are provided, along with cable channels, which can be watched on the 32" flat screen tv.
There could be others in the backyard at the same time as you. Times in the pool can be put on a sign up board, so private pool time can be enjoyed easily. The pool is open and heated June through September.
At the end of my street, Starlight Way, is a bus stop which will bring you down to the Coquitlam Centre Mall and Evergreen Line (skytrain). If you drive, it is 5 minutes away. Walking maybe 15-20 minutes, but longer coming back as I am on a hill! You may wish to take a quick cab ride up, or take the transit bus. The skytrain or the West Coast Express train will take you right into Vancouver. Both are a great way to travel.
Coquitlam is about a 20 minute drive to Vancouver. Maybe 30 minutes right to downtown, providing traffic is good.
There are many lakes, and hiking trails around. If you wish to be out for a bbq in the park, let me know. I can provide you with a cooler, ice packs and a bbq for your pleasure!

Beautiful suite!

We really enjoyed our stay. Cory (owner) is lovely, the suite has everything you need and the location works well. We’d hike at local attractions all morning and return to the suite for a swim in the afternoon. Located so you can easily access downtown Vancouver via the Skytrain or the many natural attractions in North Vancouver.

Great weekend!

We were in town for a concern in Vancouver, after discovering this property it seemed to be perfect us in regards for price, location, proximity to public transit. The property was very updated with a nice kitchen if you were staying for a few days along with very comfortable bed. The host was wonderful when we arrived accidentally early. Highly recommend

Overall wonderful stay

I booked this rental for my parents who were visitng from NS. They stayed the whole week and truly loved it! The location is lovely, quiet and they have a nice fenced in but green back yard. A large and heated pool that is well kept and the owner Cory is so nice!! The space is very comfortable, has everything you would need, and the host kitty Chloe is so cute! Highly recommend and they said they would love to stay here again. The place was kept very clean, and the only negative thing I could even think of was that the back yard is still getting work done so there's some clutter and unfinished work in areas of the yard. But that didn't impact our stay at all.

A wonderful time!

Thank you Cory for a wonderful time! The heated pool was amazing, and it was such a quiet and peaceful place to have a special family time. It was fun to BBQ on the patio, and the suite is gorgeous! You were a delight to meet, and we hope to be back in the future.

Cozy and warm, very clean and quiet

The owner made sure the heated fireplace was turned on before our late arrival, making it very comfortable for us. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were happy to find a crib board and cards, nice soap and shampoo. The owner responds quickly for communication and takes care of the place well. We were very happy with the accommodation, and the beds were excellent.

BEAR WARNING - broken sidewalk tiles and dirty sheets.

BEARS in this area - DANGER/CAUTION. The suite is very cold, with 1 base board heater and 1 small wall heater in the bathroom. Had to get 2 extra space heaters from host and run them 24/7 to keep the unit warm. She actually sent me an email and told me to find another VRBO because of this. The bed sheets smell like they have not been washed for weeks, what an awful odor (same for the towels), it was disgusting. The concrete tiles are loose and broken at the bottom of the stairs, I almost broke my ankle on check in as I stumbled with my 50-pound suitcase in hand. There are many Racoons in the back yard as well...they are known to carry Rabies (Rabies is almost 100% fatal in humans once symptoms appear). I did not see a washer/dryer, or an oven and the fireplace is a small video screen with basically no heat. It appears to me the property is neglected and a bit of a "hoarders paradise" with the car tires and junk laying around in the yard. The broken sidewalk is very dangerous. This property needs a deep cleaning and repairs. My wife and I agreed, we would not stay here again. I expect the host will have a "response to justifiy" all of my statements, they do not like it when people post the problems. These units are "not regulated or inspected by VRBO". You get what you get, please remember, you heard it here first.

Why they chose this property

I grew up in Coquitlam and raised my family here. Ranch park area in Coquitlam has larger lots and beautiful mountain views. The area is well established and everybody lives for decades in their homes, as the area is safe, peaceful and all are friendly. A wonderful community.

What makes this property unique

Having an oversized pool and a larger lot are wonderful features of this property. The neighbourhood is amazing and the views are fabulous. As the views face to the East, the sunrises are spectacular…setting the tone for the day.
It is quiet in this neighbourhood, but not far from the Coquitlam Central area where shopping, restaurants, transit and the Skytrain are.
