Lovely well-kept property on a beautiful lake. Nice walking on some back country roads leading to a lookout and a couple of hiking trails into the provincial park.
Our family couldn’t gather at Thanksgiving weekend so two weeks later five of us headed to Kawartha for three nights. Everyone contributed a dish to our turkey meal. The cottage is very well appointed.we lacked for nothing. We had a wonderful fall canoe paddle and enjoyed the hot tub after. We highly recommend this cottage.
We were a multi-generational family and we had a great time. The cottage is really well laid out so we never felt on top of each other, even during the one morning when it rained. There are games and pastimes to pass the time indoors. A great, well-appointed kitchen. And the water toys were the best: kayaks, canoe, paddleboat, paddleboard. The lake is small and calm - you can canoe it in less than an hour and the cry of the loon was heard every night. A real, classic Canadian cottage experience with all the comfort at not too far a distance from Peterborough (40min) or Toronto (2hrs).
I highly recommend
Great cottage with most amenities on site. Big beautiful deck. Nice open area to play ladder ball or corn hole games. Lake was really warm and the kids enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board and fishing. We rented the motorboat for the week and it was great for fishing and touring the lake. My son and I caught perch, largemouth and small mouth bass. Property owner was quick to respond to any questions we had.
The only negative would be all the stairs from the cottage to the dock, so if you have an issue with stairs you will want to make sure you have everything you need before you head down. Overall we had a great stay and we would recommend it to family and friends.
This is a great cozy cottage! Clean, well kept, with all the basic amenities required for your stay; we really enjoyed our time here. It was a quick drive from Toronto, easy to get to. The cottage owner was very nice, easy to interact with, quick to respond to any queries. The lake was pretty calm for the duration of our stay and a great lake for fishing, paddle boarding, boating, kayaking. Good views of the water from the cottage. Sun most of the day at the dock. We will definitely come back...highly recommend.
