We’re also about 5 minutes walk from the start of the Opera Point track to the idyllic bays on the harbour, complete with tree swing over the water. Really good stay. Impressed by the property. Good location and nice private deck for people watching. Close to the beach.
House had a good layout with everything we needed - and clutter free which is nice.
Would definitely stay again.
The home was so good! It was perfect for our family holiday for 6, with plenty of room. Super close to the beach and not a long drive from many sightseeing spots. The host, Nicola, was very responsive and helpful.
A well appointed property with everything needed for a relaxing break. The beach has to rate as one of the best on the Coromandel with the added bonus of the harbour and estuary. Plenty to do for the active relaxers among us or just chill and enjoy the peace.
We were very happy with our stay, being close to other family members and to the beach. Our favourite place at the property was sitting on the deck in the evenings watching the world go by!
Fantastic place and location with easy access to both beach and harbour. We enjoyed swimming and walking. A great big special thanks for the neighbourly kindness of fishing (Brian) and the kindness of letting us use your kayak.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Property exactly as described. Comfortable and well equipped for indoor/outdoor living. 4minute walk to beach - perfect! We’d be very keen to stay again.
Great property, simply and cosy. Had a really nice feel. Awesome location

Two night "Experience"
This property was a bit of a let down. I did not know until after I had booked and paid that no linen would be supplied. Even when I rechecked it was not mentioned. The beds were comfortable with good duvets and pillows supplied. We were on a trip around some of the Coromandel Peninsular so having to take bedding towels etc for three for only two nights was a nuisance. It was very cold in the house and we realised that no heater was supplied only a wood burning stove. I rang the owner who informed me that there was an axe in the garage so to go ahead and chop some wood! My husband is elderly and due to a back problem could not do this. We did find some chopped wood in chicken feed bags that did the trick and the first night the house warmed up. We were fortunate to have our son with us to chop some kindling. This house really needs an electric heater to use in the mornings as we would not have lit a fire then gone out after breakfast. The owner seemed "offhand" with me. I do realise that the price was lower than others we had stayed in but I would have happily paid extra to be more comfortable. There was good kitchen equipment and dishes but the mugs were so badly stained and need to be replaced. I think the summer would be more enjoyable to rent this little house.

This is a disappointing review as the issues complained about are clearly described in the property listing. I suspect that these guests are not used to booking baches online as they were anxious from the moment of booking - I received many stressed messages and phone calls before and during their stay. Linen is not a standard item supplied in a bach - we do not supply it as standard as it is hard to organise laundering in Whangapoua, but can sometimes organise it with prior arrangement. The ad states that linen is not included, I mentioned it in my initial email to them when they booked and it is also stated in the information sheet. Unfortunately these guests didn’t read emails (or the listing) thoroughly.
The same goes for the heating - we have an excellent wood burner, as clearly described in the listing. There is wood in the garage. When the guest called, I told her we had just had delivery of some chopped wood which would be in the garage in chook food bags. She was adamant there was none, so I chased up the person who provided the wood. It was definitely delivered. Eventually she actually listened to what I said and found the wood. There was also a large electric column heater in the garage which they couldn’t find (it’s there, I checked myself).
It is frustrating when someone complains about your comfortable bach when it is exactly as described to them in the listing.
We arrived just as a wild storm was coming but the fire made the house very cosy and warm. Great location as only 2 minutes to walk to the beach. A beautiful area of the Coromandel. Would be nice to return in fine and sunny weather.
Perfect for our family, kids loved being able to use scooter. Had everything we needed in kitchen etc. Nice and close to shop and beach. We walked to New Chums, which we all enjoyed. Thanks for having us.
