About this property
The Shack @ Callala - 100m to the Beach
The Shack @ Callala is 100m from the white sands of Callala Beach in Jervis Bay. You can be on the beach within a minute & on your return enjoy a hot shower outdoors! The shack has a cosy living/dining area and it has a large covered outdoor area overlooking a spacious backyard where you have access to a BBQ. There are 3 bedrooms available. The first has a Queen Bed, the 2nd a double bed and the 3rd with a double bunk. All of them tastefully decorated for you to enjoy a relaxing stay. Linen & towels will be provided.
Callala Beach is a lovely sleepy beach side neighbourhood where you & the kids can safely ride your bikes up & down the street. The community centre on Quay Rd has a tennis court that is available for rental and at times has beachside yoga and other activities on offer.
The house is directly opposite a park with a small playground and BBQ facilities & toilets. The shack is conveniently located close to a beach entry point. It's close enough to duck back for lunch during a day at the beach. The Hungry Seagull is a general store where you can also get fish & chips or an ice block, on the other side of the park. There is also a new Churros & Coffee Cart & a Slushee Cart around the corner on Callala Beach Road. Club Callala (also on Callala Beach Rd) has a restaurant and bar with a complimentary bus service.
There are also 2 bike and walking paths close to The Shack. One leading to Callala Bay & its Boat Ramp, across the creek and giving you scenic views of Jervis Bay along the water. The 2nd leads to Myola where you can access the Husky Ferry which takes you to Huskisson. The ride to Myola takes you through the bush where you encounter local wildlife on a regular basis! JBs Myola is also providing a bike, kayak & SUP service at Currambene creek.
There is NO Wifi OR Airconditioning at the Shack.
The TV is also obstructed by a pole depending where you sit - sorry! There was just not a good place to put a TV!

Why they chose this property
We had been going to the other well known white sandy beach for a couple of weeks every summer and we decided to explore the area a bit more and found this unknown sleepy beachside town of Callala Beach and we havent been back to the other beach since! The house is definitely a "Shack", it is a work in progress and we have loved staying in it even in its original state! The location is ideal with the park across the road, the beach within a minute stroll and a general store on the other side of the park. We send the kids off to ride their bikes and go to the playground without any worries.
I love going for my morning walks along the beach and see dolphins nearly every time. You can also hear the sounds of the sea at night as you are going to bed. It really is our happy place where we can slow down and enjoy going for walks, riding bikes, playing board games. We hope you enjoy the house and the surrounds as much as we do.
