About this property

Beautifully remodeled in 2016, this is a picture-perfect woodsy Tahoe cabin with rustic elegance. The location is fantastic, across the street from the National Forest and close to family friendly activities (hiking, biking, skiing, Lake Tahoe, etc). This cabin is perfect for couples, families, and furry friends (well-behaved house-trained dogs; the property is fully fenced). Every effort has been made to provide a cozy bed and breakfast like experience. The cabin has been set up with a brand new fully equipped kitchen and luxurious spa like main bathroom, entertainment center, an additional full bathroom in the master bedroom, and new beds and down comforters. Enjoy a long soak in the oversized main bathtub. There is an entry way mud room efficiently setup to store wet helmets, gloves, ski boots, and jackets. Each bedroom has an individual wall heater, which allow personalized temperature settings. There is a large flat screen TV in the family room with a DVD player, and a selection of DVD's and games. This cabin is a tranquil place to relax as a couple or family in front of the cozy fireplace or enjoy the new 6-person hot tub.

The location is fantastic. Walk or ride your bikes directly to the many beautiful trails, the best beaches in Lake Tahoe, and more. Heavenly and Sierra at Tahoe ski resorts are a very short drive away, as are Casinos if you want to test your luck.

Our favorite Tahoe stay!

My husband and I hands-down say that this home is the best of all our winter Tahoe visits. The location is perfect- it is so close to Emerald Bay, Fallen Leaf Lake, and Inspiration Point. After cooking dinner at home each night we would take a short walk down the street to go on a low-key sunset stroll through a trail with fresh snow and fabulous mountain and lake views. Our 3 children (ranging from 10-15-years old) and our sweet dog took full-advantage of all the snow access and snow tubing/sledding many days. When there was a wifi clitch we were able to get a call immediately from the homeowner and he stayed on the phone the entire time to walk us through various troubleshooting points. It was resolved and it was such a relief to know that we had contact with the owners. As we were driving back home in the car we were talking about how we were looking forward to coming back to the same home- to come back and experience the home and neighborhood during a different season.

Family Getaway

It was a wonderful stay. My wife and my 3 kids + our little pup all enjoyed being in the cabin most of the trip. Plenty of backyard space for the kids and the dog to run around and play in the snow. We also loved the jacuzzi. That was the main reason why my oldest daughter picked out the cabin. We would love to go back and definitely keep this property in mind.

My wife and I (Steve & Lisa) met in college at UC Berkeley 30 years ago and were married in 1994. After completing our studies, we moved back to my hometown of Santa Rosa in 2001. We are blessed with two great kids and 3 cats. Lisa is an OB/GYN physician, and I am an IT professional. The spectacular nature of Tahoe has made it our favorite family vacation spot, and we had dreamed of buying a cabin in Tahoe for many years. We found the perfect match in our favorite neighborhood, an older cabin with loads of character and charm. We spent the next 9 months completely renovating it. We kept all the wood cabin charm but provided modern conveniences. Over the years, we have rented many Tahoe cabins and stayed in adorable B&B's which were our inspiration throughout the renovation process. Our goal is to provide charm, attention to detail, and comfort in a cozy cabin setting.

We focused our cabin search to locations that are close to hiking, biking and open Forest. The cabin is located on a quiet street surrounded by nature, where you can walk or bike right out the front door. We encourage you to visit Camp Richardson and the beautiful beaches nearby, Fallen Leaf Lake, hiking trails, and more. There is amazing skiing at Heavenly, just a 10–15-minute drive, as well as Sierra at Tahoe and Kirkwood.
