Located in Tikitere, a neighbourhood in Rotorua, this holiday home is in a rural area and on a lake. Rotorua Night Market and Rotorua Central Mall are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Okere Falls Scenic Reserve and Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Racing Rotorua or Rotorua International Stadium. Jet skiing and kayaking offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with mountain biking and horse riding nearby.
We had the most beautiful stay here. It was so relaxing and peaceful and the house was so quirky and interesting. There was wine and biscuits awaiting our arrival which was a lovely gesture.
Incredibly beautiful views and such a lovely spot to unwind by the lake. We really enjoyed making use of the kayaks stored in the garage – a perfect way to get out on the water. The owner is genuinely friendly and goes out of their way to make guests feel welcome and well looked after. There are plenty of games available, which was fantastic for us travelling with two little kids – they had a great time. The location also works really well as a base for exploring Rotorua, the geothermal areas, or even heading out for some rafting adventures.Like many places surrounded by nature, you might come across the odd mouse or spider – all part of the experience. The terrace and balcony could do with a little bit of TLC, but overall it’s a warm, relaxed, and enjoyable place to stay.
Cheers for the great review, Kate.

Excellent location for a summer getaway, suburb views, great kiwi batch with exceptional hosts. The hot water beach and ability to kayak from the house to the near by hot springs is a bonus! We look forward to staying again.
We loved Tim's place. The views were amazing, the house was cozy, and we loved digging a hole at the hot water beach just below the house. It was magic!
Fabulously located lakeside chalet, home away from home very peaceful and relaxing

Amazing views & bird life. Interesting house which our kids loved. Spacious & quiet. We used to have a family bach nearby so it was great to revisit the area. Hope to come again!

Host failed to mention the Bach is on a logging road which was actively being logged. The road was closed (we had to arrange with the logging crew to let us through) and power was cut one day. We were woken up to logging operation noise and the Bach shaking as the trees were felled across the road. I feel lucky that we brought our 4wheel drive truck as my car would’ve most likely gotten stuck on the road (after 3 days of logging there were deep ruts and a lot of mud on the road). Host was kind when we checked in but when we brought up the issues he didn’t respond and ignored my texts telling me he would respond later. Extra costs were not visible of our side of the site which led to a lot of confusion when we were charged and extra person (the Bach sleeps 6, we were 5 but he says the fee is for 4 people).
