IMPORTANT**
This property sits among 1500 acres ranging from an easy Interstate Highway
I-25 access to the top of the Old Raton Pass Highway. Two bedroom (one king,
one queen), one bath completely remodeled mountain farmhouse. Full kitchen
with new appliances, washer/dryer, SmartTV and internet (WiFi & cell phone
signals, of course depending on your carrier some may be better than others).
This property features mind-blowing views of 3 states, incredible hiking among
the Native American ruins, fossils, rocks, plants and minerals of the high
desert. From river beds and ponds, to mini-canyons, ravines and meadows, bird
caves and many more hidden corners of the earth! Make some memories here and
truly "get away". Every kind of wildlife lives on this property so have your
camera handy: chipmunks, squirrel, turkey, bear, bobcat, cougar, elk, deer,
fox, coyote, and tons of birds from magpies to western tanagers and yes a pair
of eagles! Visit our personal website for pictures and history of the property

Just minuets from downtown Raton and Sugarite State Park with 3 lakes,
camping, hiking, fishing and gorgeous views . Tour the foundations and trails
of the old Sugarite mining town ruins. Sugarite borders Colorado and allows
access to another lake and hiking as well. Eighteen miles to Trinidad, 1 hour
to Eagle's Nest, 1.5 hours to Taos and Red River. Two hours to Colorado
Springs, 3 to Denver and Albuquerque. Excellent base-camp to explore the New
Mexico and Colorado Rockies.
Croquet set, very small selection of books, games and puzzles, fire pit, BBQ
grill, picnic table, DVD & VHS movies.
*Please inquire about our other property in this town as well, if needed more space, etc. one bedroom cabin with loft (sleeps 4; on same property). All properties are within 1 mile of each other.
**Disclosure: Typically you will never see anyone else during your stay, but
for clarity, this property is at the foothills of our other top-of-the-
mountain cabin rentals, so it's a possibility that you may see other guests
using the entrance roadway, as well as the possibility of maintenance vehicles
needing to access the ranch for emergencies, etc.*
*****No off-roading currently available (ATV's, etc.). You may DRIVE on the
marked routes only. No smoking inside facilities and no hunting available.
Extreme caution must be taken seriously with regard to terrain, weather and
wild animals for YOUR safety.**
