Perfect girls weekend getaway

Six of us stayed at the Sleepy Hollow Lake in Athens for a girls trip and it was the PERFECT location! Not far from town, amazing views, and a hot tub overlooking mountains. Diana’s communication during our stay were top notch. Would love to stay again!

Nice location and property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A few minor details missed the mark - hot tub was not cleaned while we were there, contrary to book on the property. There was only one roll of toilet paper, and the instructions we received for trash removal were not quite right, causing confusion and time delay. But overall a fun place, clean, and a relaxing place to stay!

Was disappointed that we did not have any access to any closets, there was no where to hang your clothes. The dressers were full of extra sheets and pillows so no where to put folded clothes. Had a hard time regulating the heat also. Otherwise the home was clean and had beautiful views

Great Getaway

Delightful, comfortable, scenic, and quiet location on a beautiful lake. Except for the lack of towel racks and the steep back hillside down to the water, it was the perfect place to get away and enjoy the beauty of the setting.

Great Little Getaway

A perfect little getaway on a beautiful lake. The back deck was wonderful to sit out on, relax, and take in the view. Super easy to get over to Hudson for the day and do some antiquing. Diane was very responsive and super easy to work with. I will say make sure you follow her directions to get there. Two of our three parties made it fine, but I was taken to the vacant lot on the other side of the lake by my GPS. We had a very enjoyable weekend at the lake :)

Beautiful location

The house has a beautiful location and the view of the lake is beautiful. There are several things to do in the surrounding areas such as hiking, horseback riding, shopping and nice restaurants. The house was overall nice. It has a combination of very nice updates and a few needed updates. The couches are extremely uncomfortable. Our host was responsive for the most part.

Beautiful Spot

The site on the lake and the view were amazing. The house was very nice as well. We enjoyed being able to visit the Cole House and Oleana, Frederick Church's amazing house.There were some small issues that kept it from being perfect. The upstairs bathroom sink drain was not working well. Some pots and pans needed a good brillo cleaning. The couch was very low. I could have used a wire brush for the grill. One of the upstairs beds was a bit uncomfortable. All minor problems but they did add up in an otherwise beautiful spot.

Our mini vacation was nothing short of amazing! The cabin was fully stocked of essentials and there was even a paddleboard/kayak at the lake for our use. We had some difficulties with the air conditioning and Diana was prompt in helping us to resolve the issue. We had some rain during our stay and were worried we couldn’t hang out at the deck but they had a retractable awning which covered almost all the deck! My guest and I all had a truly awesome time, thanks Diana!

Athens Lake House

Gorgeous overall. Few hiccups; air conditioners not working, tv not working, oven not working, and there was no way to get back onto the dock after jumping into the water. Needs a ladder for sure. Kind of dangerous. Very clean, very picturesque neighborhood, quaint and cute! Would absolutely stay again if some details attended too =)

Couple things…

Beautiful view but lacked any place to hang clothes. Shower was nice but sink didn’t drain properly in the second floor bath. Lamp lighting would have been easier on the eyes for TV and reading. Directions to the place got us lost. We came from the north and saw no sign for the restaurant we were looking for. Had great weather and overall enjoyable time

Overall, we had a great time!There were 8 of us, so we needed to use the sofa bed, which was uncomfortable but my son brought a topper so it was better! The beds in the rooms were comfortable and we had no issues with the AC! It was perfect!Be aware that the walk down to the dock is super steep! But we all had a good workout. lolSuggestion- make sure you have everything you need so you don’t have to make too many trips!The dock was awesome. We fished and floated, and used the kayak and paddle boards. Just be sure you understand that you can’t use your own kayaks or other watercraft on the lake! Only the ones that are there. You can take yours to the boat launch down the street.The lake was beautiful!It was great to have linens included! We used the washer and dryer to refresh the towels-we had 8 guests so we needed to do that!The kitchen had everything you needed to cook! The keurig worked great! The hot tub on the deck was also wonderful- super clean! We enjoyed spending time just chilling on the deck. Sunsets were amazing! The house can use a little TLC (updates) but like I said, overall we had an amazing time! The host was super and quick to answer any questions we had!

It could be lovely… desperately needs attention

The lake view is amazing. Sunsets gorgeous. Location is not the issue. The owner has seriously let the place go. The bathroom exhaust fan was barely hanging on to the ceiling. The shower walls and bathroom ceiling covered in mildew, not to mention the grout in the bathroom tile floor. The hot tub is missing knobs and head rests. The sofas in the living room are the most uncomfortable we’ve ever experienced. The owner has left no drawer or closet space in the downstairs bedroom for a renter to unpack. Bulbs were burned out on the deck and down by the dock. We actually left a day early because it just got to be too much to handle when we found mouse droppings on the kitchen counter. Evolve refunded us $200 of a $1400 booking. The owner never acknowledged the mess.

Beautiful lake house

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved this house! The view of the lake is incredible and the hot tub and fire pit were very relaxing. It felt like we were at summer camp. Diana was great as well - very responsive to the questions I sent her. I would definitely recommend this house for your next lakeside getaway.
