Classic Riverfront Cabin

A river really does run through it! The San Marino cabins have a private location on the Gallatin River with views of Porcupine Ridge. Listen to the murmur of the Gallatin River whether you are playing poker, chess, foosball in the loft, reading by a 12 foot River rock fireplace in the living room, taking a hot soak in the NEW 6 person jacuzzi, or waking up from a nap. The cabin's unbeatable location offers a quintessential spot for a large group fly fishing, skiing, hiking, golf, river rafting, or just a girl's weekend away.

We enjoyed are stay on many levels. Great house, great location. Easy access to the town of Big Sky, ski resort area a little further. Location next to the Gallatin River was admired and enjoyed by all of our guests. Beautiful views. Corresponding with owner prior to check-in went well, very responsive. We did not need to interact with the management company - no problems to report. Kitchen had plenty of cooking amenities and supplies. Lower level had two bedrooms, one full bathroom, but those who stayed on the lower level also used the upstairs bathroom, so was not a problem for us. We were able to use this Cabin as home base to explore Yellowstone (West Entrance), fly fishing, golf near Big Sky, the town of Big Sky, and the ski resort area. Plenty of restaurants and hiking opportunities within those areas. We ended up with 8 very satisfied Cabin guests.

Great property right on the Gallatin. Beautiful, peaceful views right from the backyard deck and hot tub. Wi-Fi worked well. Some minor issues with broken coffee pot and no power cord for TV in master bedroom. But, otherwise, a great vacation rental!

Fantastic place to relax after a day of skiing

We skied 5 days at big sky, loved being able to come back, sit in the hot tub, make a big dinner and get really good sleep! Boys loved exploring the river area.

Great cabin on the river

We had a great time at the cabin. The location is great as it was a great home base between some activities in Bozeman and heading into Yellowstone. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable for our group. The property mgmt was very responsive with our hot tub questions and were quick to get the hot tub company out to address the issues. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a bunch of ideas planned to spends some time out in Big Sky and ended up spending all our time off the slopes at the cabin, no complaints. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us!

Fly angler's paradise

My father, two fishing buddies, and I had a fishing trip of a lifetime in Montana. The cornerstone of our trip was this wonderful cabin. The location is perfect. Incredible fishing is just steps away on the Gallatin river. The Madison and Yellowstone rivers, as well as Yellowstone National Park are easy drives away. I would like to thank the owner owner for opening up her beautiful vacation home to us!

Wonderful week in Big Sky

This place was wonderful. Spacious, beautiful and well accomadated. We were a group of 5 guys (40-50s) out for a week of skiing. The cabin is near a really great local restaurant that we frequented and access to Big Sky was an easy 20 min drive. I really appreciated that there was extra everything in the cabin (e.g. tons of dishes, glasses, pillows, towels, cookware, trash bags, etc.). I would highly recommend and would definitely rent again.

Fabulous location and home

Beautiful home on Gallitin River/ easy river access. Communication with owner was excellent; she provided many helpful hints of things to do. Blue Moon Bakery pizza and Lotus were excellent restaurants. Kitchen small but well stocked with gorgeous river views. Bedrooms small but clean and comfortable. Loft AC kept room comfortable. No window shades to east so children awoke early. Good access to Big Sky (10 minutes) and Yellowstone (50 minutes to entrance). Would definitely return!

Ski Big Sky and stay in style

This property was a great fit for our group of five guys looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay during our ski week at Big Sky. The views of the Gallatin River are unmatched. Bring your binoculars. We were able to see elk, moose, big horn sheep, and even a wolf during our stay. The five bedrooms and four bathrooms were a great fit and everyone in our party had plenty of private space while still being able to gather comfortably in the living room and kitchen for meals. The property was well stocked, clean, and well located. Vivian, our host, was super easy to work with and very responsive when we had questions. She was also helpful in guiding us to ski rentals, restaurants, and a grocery store. As a ski group we are already planning a return visit to Big Sky and individually a few members of our party are contemplating a return visit to this property to enjoy hiking in the Gallatin Valley and Yellowstone during the summer.

Perfect Ski Getaway

This place was perfect for our ski trip with 12 adults. The size allowed for us all to gather together when we wanted and also have our own space if needed. We used the hot tub almost every night, and I cannot possibly describe the beauty of the clear Montana sky from that hot tub. Overall, the place was just as advertised with incredible views, comfy beds, a well stocked kitchen, and even a surprise delivery of fresh firewood after the first few nights. The property manager was responsive to any and all communication throughout the week. The only thing to note is that cell service in the area is basically nonexistent (at least for Verizon) so I highly recommend you make sure you have your check-in code for the house before you get to the front door. That said, the Wi-Fi was strong enough to support 12+ devices throughout the week. I would definitely stay here again!

A Perfect Getaway!

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the cabin for 8 incredible days, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this home was designed with guests’ comfort and enjoyment in mind. This cabin style home is perfectly situated, offering a serene escape while still being conveniently close to local attractions. Whether we wanted to explore Yellowstone National Park or enjoy a day at the river, everything was within easy reach. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and charming, making it a fantastic spot for relaxation. Besides the sliding door that didn't lock, the home was spotless and beautifully maintained (they had a bar to keep the sliding door locked). Each bedroom was thoughtfully decorated, comfortable, and provided ample privacy. Amenities: This home truly had it all. The kitchen was fully equipped with high-quality appliances and all the cookware we needed to prepare meals, making it easy to enjoy home-cooked dinners. The living area featured a large, flat-screen TV with a great selection of streaming options, perfect for family movie nights. The outdoor space was a highlight, with a lovely patio area and a working hot tub. We loved sitting in the hot tub and enjoying the scenic mountain backyard view.

Beautiful view but disappointed

We arrived at cabin at 4:05 pm. A lady with two children had just pulled in at the same time. She said she was the property manager and needed to clean the jacuzzi. She stayed until 5:15. We had driven for days and wanted to relax. Her children were at the river access so we couldn’t go down there. She stayed on the back porch, so we couldn’t sit and relax. Lights were out in the kitchen, the dining room and the master bath. Absolutely no toilet paper in master bath. Partial roll toilet paper in other baths. The front bedroom, wreaked of sulphur the down stairs had a mildew/mold smell. The downstairs toilet overflowed while we were at Yellowstone. We came back to flooded bathroom, hallway and partial game room. On our 3rd day, water was shut off for over two hours. We tried calling the property manager, Kristen, no answer. We tried the emergency number for her, no answer. A load of towels was in the dryer, I folded them, put them away under sinks to discover, the master bathroom sink is leaking and all towels beneath it were soaking wet. A different property manager was at the cabin next door with a cleaning lady. She tried to make several phone calls for us. Bless her heart, she did find out about the water being shut off when we couldn’t get anyone else to help us find out what was going on. I took pictures I can send of the amount of dust covering mirrors and walls. The amount of grime behind the faucets in the bath, the tooth paste on the walls…. Don’t get me wrong, the view is magnificent but I feel like we left the cabin cleaner than when we arrived. We made memories which is the most important thing but if you are paying a cleaning service, I strongly suggest hiring a new one. The amount of money we spent for this stay, I feel like the upkeep and general maintenance should have been better.

Riverfront Cabin w/ Amazing Views

Our group of 10 family members & friends really enjoyed this cabin, literally steps from the Gallatin River. The layout of the house suited 2 families nicely w/ 2 bedrooms, a tv room and full bathroom downstairs; a bedroom w/ full bathroom (not ensuite) and the master bedroom w/ ensuite bathroom on mail level; and a large, open loft which contained 2 double sized beds and a full bathroom, a living area and separate game table w/ 4 chairs and the foosball table. We spent a considerable time on the LARGE riverside deck (w/ hot tub that was sparkling clean) playing games on the beautiful green yard, drinking our morning coffee, fly fishing ( only caught a couple small rainbows on this section of the river, but it was fun to throw the lines out right out the door) and hot tubbing while listening to the never ending sound of rushing water. We ran or walked Procupine Creek each day. We even rented tubes one day and all 10 of us drove 4 miles upstream and tubed the river back to the cabin! The location of the cabin is perfect- close to casual restaurants: RiverHouse, The Corral (loved the character of this place) and our must go to every time we are in Big sky-YETI DOG! Roxy's grocery store is also close in the mountain meadow area. We had plenty to do: hiking ( Bee Hive Basin), river rafting ( GEYSER WHITEWATER is the Best), a trip to Yellowstone and a couple float trips down the Madison where we slayed the rainbows and browns thru Wild Trout Outfitters and Madison River Outfitters. The only drawback that would keep us from renting this cabin again was the loft upstairs got unbearably hot during the day and had only one window to open, so there is no cross breeze at all. (there are multiple fans available, but they just blew warm air around). The huge west facing windows up there do have good coverings but one of them fell down within an hour of our arrival because it was duct taped in place. I made 3 separate calls and left voice messages with the property manager's office phone and personal cell phone over the next day and a half - and never heard back from her ( hence the one star rating for them ). I ended up notifying the owner who said a new window covering would need to be ordered and we could just re-tape it in place ( (which did not work....). The 2 teens ended up sleeping there but it was not comfortable & we never utilized that living space while there for 12 days. Overall a great place and we hope to return!

We are a California beach family with roots in Wyoming and Texas.

Why they chose this property

Our family vacationed in this cabin for over a week and fell in love with just about everything Montana offers. We frequent the Colorado, Utah, and California slopes, but nothing compares to Big Sky's powder. Summer vacations in Hawaii and the Carribean now pale in comparison to the peacefulness of fly fishing on the Gallatin and Madison Rivers.

What makes this property unique

Riverfront cabin with blue ribbon trout fishing steps outside the backdoor. The minute you walk into the cabin, the river murmur will beckon you.
