The staff at Aggieland was helpful, professional, and made the check-in process easy. The property is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating. The family favorite was the night sky lit by stars. Thankfully we took the telescope. Wonderful stay!

We had a great stay! The house was funky and cute and had plenty of space for us and another family. The kids loved the big field and catching an endless supply of grasshoppers. They also loved the big climbing tree and swings. The outside was nice to sit and drink your coffee and let the kids run wild. The town was close and had some great little restaurants and icecream shops.

Very nice weekend gateaway

This place was very quiet and on the river bank. It also had a very large open field for children to play. There was everything available in the house for 3 families. It was a very nice weekend gateaway for us.

The setting is serene and spacious with a large private acreage descending to the Colorado River but better described as a wide, moving stream by late July. It's a lovely area for children of all ages as the cows and horses were in a neighbouring field and were curious as to why the five children were mooing at them so came closer to the barb wire fence to investigate. The grounds had an abundance of large flat bottomed swings hanging among flowering trees where children ages 3 to 14 could lie down in pairs and swing easily together at the top of a gentle hill. Croquet was available and worked well for adults playing with their children. Inside board games were a treat for group activities with parents and grandparents.Rental equipment was available from a nearby outlet if one was interested in kayaking. The younger children loved the higher bunk beds with railings to provide security at night and it was a treat to be above older cousins on the lower beds.Access to balconies allowed one to eat outside or to just view the green fields, river and flowering shrubs and trees.Photo be added below...

Quick country getaway

This was an outstanding trip! The house is in a great location outside of town and a short walk to the river. The living room and dining areas are roomy and comfortable and the beds were fantastic. The house is clean and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. Plenty of outdoor seating to spend time talking and listening to the wind through the trees.

A relaxing family getaway

We had a great family trip here. The proximity to the river is awesome - we rented kayaks and swam/fished every day. Also thoroughly enjoyed all the land around the house. It’s quiet and beautiful and full of fireflies.

Lovely, Peaceful Country Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Whispering Winds with a family group in town for a wedding near Cedar Creek. We especially loved the peaceful nature sounds day and night, as well as the beautiful night skies. The house was very comfortable for a group, with lots of fun outdoor hang-out areas. Highly recommended.

Getaway right in town

So close to city but still felt so secluded. Had friends from Austin and Elgin come meet us some spend night. Enjoyed swimming in river with kids and playing on huge hill. Kids loved the tree and stayed in it most of the trip.

Great place for big families

Place was great overall. We were able to swim with the kids and put in kayaks and a canoe without issues all weekend. Front door is hard to open and side kitchen door wont open. All in all, my family and I look forward to booking it again next year.

Quiet time

Spent a great quiet, intimate weekend with the family. We had some nice kayaking out the back door on the Colorado river, along with some lake paddle boarding in the nearby state parks. Topped off with s’mores for the grandkids under a starry night.

Men's Weekend

I recently went with a group of guys for a Men's Weekend and had a blast! We kayaked, cooked, drank, rode the brand new slip 'n slide down the hill, fished, and some of the guys even used the local airport to Paramotor around the area (with permission of course)! The house was perfect, the view was wonderful and the atmosphere was fantastic! Recommend it for anyone looking to get away for a week or weekend!

Peaceful country home

This was a very comfortable and cozy home for a large group. We were there for a wedding in Bastrop so we spent most of our time away from the house, but the time there was very nice. The outside is impressive with a huge green grassy area between the house and the river that allowed my niece and her dad to fly a kite. That's a large open space. The kitchen was well appointed with modern appliances. The master suite at the top floor is a wonderful space. I would recommend this house for a large family group.
