You've found the ideal spot for your Wellfleet summer vacation--close to the iconic Uncle Tim's Bridge. Hot tub & Firepit!

This historic beauty with wood and painted floors and exposed beams has been recently restored and newly furnished. This wonderful five-bedroom home has all the charm of a traditional Cape Cod house with the comforts of today. As lovely and cozy as the inside of the home is, you may want to spend all of your time outside enjoying the hot tub, grills, outdoor shower, fire pit and views of Wellfleet Harbor.

Enter the home through the screened-in porch with table and chairs--a great space for meals or relaxing. A short hall leads to the nicely-equipped kitchen with new appliances. Just off the kitchen is one two sitting areas. This main living area has comfortable seating and a dining table. Just off this room is the TV room with a sofa with chaise and futon and a flat screen smart TV with cable and WiFi.

A door off the TV room leads to the primary bedroom with king bed and en suite bathroom with shower. The primary bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, a flat screen TV with cable, a window air conditioner, a private exterior door to the yard and views of Wellfleet Harbor. On the other side of the TV room is a bedroom with queen bed and window air conditioner. This bedroom looks out over the yard and also has harbor views.

In the short hall between the screen porch and kitchen is a bathroom with a shower and a small separate laundry room with washer/dryer. On the other side of the screen porch is the summer surf bedroom with two twin beds. This bedroom has a small TV with DVD player and VCR with DVDs and VHS tapes.

At the front of the house, follow the original ship ladder stairs* to the second floor where you will find two more bedrooms--one with three twin beds and one with one twin bed. There is also a roomy bathroom with tub/shower.

Relax in the hot tub, dine out on the patio or unwind at the fire pit looking out over Wellfleet Harbor. The property has gas and charcoal grills and an enclosed outdoor shower.**

Walk to town via Uncle Tim's Island and Uncle Tim's Bridge--less than a half mile to East Commercial Street. Access the island at the end of the road, then follow the bridge to East Commercial Street. Visit the wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants at Wellfleet center and at the town pier. Walk down the hill to the end of the road, then along the beach for swimming at high tide. Walk to PJ's for a fresh seafood fix! Short drive to Moby Dick's for more seafood, the town's beloved bay beaches, ocean beaches and fresh water ponds. Short drive to golfing, Cape Cod National Seashore beaches, hiking trails and historic sites, the Cape Cod Rail Trail biking and walking path, Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, the Wellfleet Drive-In and much more. Head a bit further into Truro or Provincetown for even more fun.

1 week stay in early August '23

Overall it was a great spot with a nice view of the harbor and an easy walk to town across Uncle Tim's bridge. Driving requires getting on route 6 which can be a nuisance but not a big deal. I would definitely recommend the property.

Nice Wellfleet gathering space!

Nice old cape house - renovated and improved over the years to high standards while retaining it's charm. We had our annual family reunion here and had plenty of social spaces to enjoy - from comfy living rooms to screened porch to fire pit hangout to hot tub. We walked and biked to town, biked to the beach and Long Pond, etc. We really enjoyed our stay!

charming & comfortable in great location

I am absolutely in love with this charming Cape Cod house and all its wonderful quirkiness! Two families (4 adults, 5 kids) had a very comfortable stay, with teens enjoying the separate bunk room and solo twin upstairs (even without AC in just those two spaces). Sure, the stairs take care and the downstairs bath off the kitchen has an almost comically small sink, but it was perfectly suited for a relaxing week’s vacation! The location provided easy access to the National Seashore (where we mostly enjoyed Marconi and Head of the Meadow, choosing to avoid the rough parking at Nauset Light this year and the unnecessary expense of Wellfleet town beaches), and great to have an outdoor shower upon return! The home is an easy and beautiful walk to the main street of Wellfleet for shopping, ice cream and meals. We even had luck crabbing with a net off Uncle Tom’s bridge. The home’s large porch was an excellent gathering spot (plus helped keep sand and shoes out of the main house) and the yard was perfect for morning coffee, afternoon happy hour, and stargazing by the fire. (My only small critique is that I’d trade some of the random pots & appliances in the kitchen for upgraded wine & cocktail glasses… Next time!) Thank you for the hospitality! We hope to return!

My fondness for the house grew over the week

When we first arrived, it was very hot and it seemed that that the property had recently been painted. While the paint was all dry, the combined smell of the paint and the room deodorizers and scented dryer sheets placed throughout the house was overwhelming, and our attempts to increase airflow were somewhat thwarted by the fact that quite a few of the windows were painted shut. Over the course of the week, though, as the place aired out and we became familiar with the many assets of the house, our appreciation grew significantly. The location is a definite plus if you want to walk into town on a scenic route that takes you to Uncle Tim's Bridge. It's also on two dead ends, so traffic is almost non-existent in the immediate neighborhood (although driving across Route Six to get to the ocean and pond side of Wellfleet these days is quite the challenge). The house is quirky and the sleeping areas vary quite considerably in space and comfort. The master suite was large, comfortable and a bit separated from the main house and therefore quieter, while the far bedroom on the other side of the screened-in porch was quite rustic. The tread on the stairs to the upstairs bedroom and bath is very narrow (think 1700s) and it requires quite a bit of care and concentration to ascend and descend them (you're not going to find yourself running up and down them, I'll wager). The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc., and the dishwasher worked well. Because of the surface of the counter, it was important to cover it whenever you were prepping or cooking, requiring more care than I'm used to. The kids ended up enjoying the hot tub twice, but we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use the firepit. Part of that was because of the mosquitoes, which are very numerous all over Wellfleet this summer. The property is treated by the Mosquito Squad, and was so one day while we were there, but I don't think that any treatment could banish them altogether this summer given the scale of the problem. On dry, breezy days, we enjoyed sitting outside on the brick patio with minimal mosquito interference. All in all, we had a very enjoyable week. If I were to return to the house, I'd know more how to spend time there and I would take more advantage of some of the options it offers! There are beach chairs and beach toys my grandson would have enjoyed playing with had I only seen them before we were cleaning up and packing the last day! (My bad.)
