About this property
Great in-town location short walk to beach and restaurants!!!
The Beachcomber II enjoys a great in-town location....steps to the beach, restaurants, entertainment, and shops. We, a non-smoking, family and pet friendly with a fenced yard and a fun playground just through the gate in the backyard.
The Beachcomber II features hardwood floors and soft relaxing colors throughout. You will pass under the dogwood trees through the front door and enter into the sunroom, into a large livingroom with a smart tv; great for streaming. Pick your bedroom and get ready for family meals in the eat-in kitchen. Your choice of bedrooms is a sunny twin room with built-in-bookcases, a master bedroom, with queen bed and private bath or a queen size bedroom across from the second bathroom with tub/shower. A bonus kids loft is upstairs with two twin beds, and window seat; we recommend it for kids.
While enjoying your stay with us, we have provided an outdoor dining space under the trees with a gas grill. WIFI is provided.
Beachcomber II is a charming cottage, great for families, couples or girl's getaway. We began welcoming guests to our first cottage in 2011 and we so enjoyed giving guests a great place to relax and get-away. Since 2011, we have added 3 additional Beachcomber Cottages and a Guest House, We topped at at 5 cottages and through the years sold 3 cottages and now have two; Beachcomber II and Beachcomber III.
A great way to enjoy Colonial Beach. There are 3 great golf cart rental options, let us know if you would like information. People also love to explore the area by bike, unfortunately we stopped providing bikes a couple of years ago due to liability. If you need recommendations on bikes in the area, let us know, we are happy to help.
The beauty of the Beachcomber II is it is perfect for families and couples. The cottage features one floor living, unless you are a kid and want to escape to the kid's loft. We have a fenced yard with a gate that opens to the town playground. We welcome well-behaved dogs; there are size, breed, and age restrictions: pet fee applies and dogs must not be left unattended in the house; please bring a crate.
The enjoyment of the Beachcomber II isn't limited to the house. Along with the fenced yard; we feature a gas grill and outside dining under the trees, right outside the kitchen door. great for grilling out and crab picking! And just steps from the house are restaurants, shops, the beach, and fishing pier...be sure to get a soft serve ice cream at the Pink Poodle, which you can see through the trees!
Colonial Beach, Virginia; 60 miles from DC,but a world away... Colonial Beach, Virginia...the Gateway to the Northern Neck of Virginia.... a beach front haven, less than 2 hours from DC, along the Potomac River. Many say, it is place that time has forgotten with it's slow pace, friendly people who wave as they drive past you on their golf carts, wide beaches where the Potomac River is 4 to 6 miles wide, within minutes to historical attractions; George Washington's Birthplace; the Lee Family Home, Monroe's Birthplace Stratford Plantation, explore Westmoreland State Park, and find Shark's teeth and more, great boating, fishing, crabbing, and discover the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, Craft Beers, several great waterfront restaurants, waterfront live bands on weekends during the summer, and great crabs.
Spring and early summer is a beautiful time at the Beach, to enjoy a much quieter waterfront and explore the region's history and wineries!
Thanks for looking and be prepared to fall in love with Colonial Beach and the Northern Neck!

About the host
Hosted by Cathy Bokman

My husband and I, first started enjoying Colonial Beach as a weekend get-away from Chevy Chase, when we fell in love with Colonial Beach on our first visit in 2005. We now spend the summers in Colonial Beach and have made Florida our home. Since graduating from George Mason University; I entered the hospitality business. Being a cottage owner is something I love. It enables me to improve and beautify properties and provide a nice place for people to enjoy their vacations.
Why they chose this property
In 2009 we bought our first vacation rental, Beachcomber I. That house was a partnership with my sister and my husband's brother; it was a total renovation. I found though that people really enjoyed themselves and discovering Colonial Beach and the area. A year later, a childhood friend that I grew up with in Wellesley, Massachusetts called when she found this listing on the internet. This house, which became Beachcomber II didn't need nearly the amount of work as our first project and had the same great location; steps from town and beach...so we jumped in and started the work....hope you enjoy!
What makes this property unique
Beachcomber II has a great location, or as guests tell me...it is a gem. I know they enjoy the location steps to town, beaches and a playground just through the back gate. Also it is mostly on one floor, except the kid's loft.
