Elevated position with panoramic ocean views in quintessential ‘old’ Torquay, Cowrie House is a double-storey beach house with 4 bedrooms that can sleep up to 12 guests. It is set up to welcome families with children that will love the bunk rooms & huge, fully fenced backyard. Two open plan living areas offer guests space to spread out, with an expansive upper deck & lower patio area for outdoor living. Located only 500m to the foreshore, or a 3 min drive to shops, there are also parks nearby.

The Space:
Fully equipped and so close to the beach, your days will be spent going to and from the beach on your summer holidays!

Tucked away behind fully secure fences, this home is on a huge block with established trees and palms, giving the children plenty of room to run and play. Only minutes from Torquay’s main shopping precinct, you will literally have restaurants, the Bowls Club, parklands and the Surf Coast’s beautiful beaches on your doorstep – park the car and explore by foot to truly enjoy this holiday destination.
Offering multiple decks, outdoor settings and a BBQ, outdoor living is prioritised to enjoy the sea views all the way to Barwon Heads Bluff and Cape Schanck in the distance.
Set on 2 levels, there is fresh carpet and curtains throughout. The master bedroom has a brand new mattress, ocean views and sliding doors to the deck, plus a WIR and en suite. The open plan living and dining area has split system air conditioning, a TV, new couches and seating, plus a dining table and stools for the breakfast bar. A large kitchen with new cooktop and rangehood, plus electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and ample storage give you plenty of space for holiday food preparation.
Downstairs is another living area with TV, new couches and chairs, plus a second dining setting, with sliding glass doors to the patio and lawn area. There is a central bathroom with bath and shower, plus a laundry with washer & dryer. Two bedrooms each have two sets of bunks, while another has a Queen bed. There is a main heater upstairs plus portable oil heaters and fans. All beds are made up with hotel quality sheets and bath towels.

The Neighborhood:
Beaches - Our beautiful local beaches including family-favourites, Fisherman’s Beach & Cosy Corner, starting just 500m away. Torquay Beach offers family friendly swimming, surfing, and walking 3mins drive away, and is patrolled in summer months.
Front Beach offers long beach walks and (generally) calm swimming, while Torquay Point, Jan Juc and Bells Beach offer waves for advanced surfers.
Spring Creek caters to family fishing, SUPing, kayaking.
There are plenty of cafes and restaurants locally, with many more restaurants, wineries and breweries around the region.
Nightjar Markets operate on Thursday nights through January, and are in walking distance.
Adventure Park is also a great day out with the kids – approx. 30mins drive away.

Our beach house is within easy walking/riding distance to parks and shops. On and off-street parking available, with a double garage.
Buses to and from Torquay and Geelong (Number 50 or 51).
Closest train station 15km away (Waurn Ponds station) for V/Line train Geelong- Melbourne.
Torquay is 1 hour 15 mins by car from Melbourne.

Great location for a extended family holiday
We enjoyed our stay at the house. It was in a great location and allowed us to walk everywhere. The fridge was not very big given the amount of people the house accomodates.
