A nice cottage

It was a perfect stay. It was clean and everything was there what we needed. Also by the lake there was everything you need. With a thunderstorm the owner called us to warn us for it, so that was a thoughtful thing to do. The cottage has also a generator, so with the power fall everything still worked. The area has allot hiking spots.

What a lovely cottage!

We enjoyed four nights at this Kahshe Lake cottage; it's large enough for around eight people, though it was just the two of us and a small dog. We loved the cottage – its sunken and spacious living room is really unique and the kitchen was very well equipped. The property and lakefront are beautiful, full-on Canadian Shield, with lots of rock and a beautiful beach area (even though we were there in winter). Frank was very attentive to our needs and gave us a good look around at check-in. The hi-speed internet let us both do our jobs while there (booo!) and also let us unwind with various TV options (yay!). Overall, I'd go back here anytime. We both loved staying here.

I'm an active person who enjoys the outdoors and city life. I live in Toronto but have vacationed in this area for years.

Why they chose this property

We have fallen in love with this place and hope you will too. The summer is a great time to visit. The lake is warm and clean, and there are lots of great activities on the lake and the surrounding area. For activities other than lounging, reading, swimming, and fishing, you are a short drive or bike ride to some amazing hiking opportunities. Coopers Falls Trail is wonderful and is part of the Trans-Canada Trail. There are 2 entrances, with parking off Coopers Fall Road. You could try one half of the trail one and the other half another day. Another hiking option is the Jervis and Silver Lakes Trail which is at the end of Sam Cook Road. It’s also spectacular and less travelled We aren’t big fishers but apparently there is great fishing in neighbouring Bass Lake which is a quick canoe or paddle board trip down the river.

In the winter, there is access to cross country skiing, winter hiking and we are close to incredible snowmobile trails.

What makes this property unique

This well-appointed, lakefront, 3-bedroom cottage with 1 full bath and one half bath en suite offers the best Muskoka has to offer. Shallow swimming waters are perfect for kids with deeper waters a bit further out. It is close to incredible hikes and provides great opportunities to canoe or paddle on lake or through river systems.
