About this property
1949 Jim Dandy Vintage Glamping Camper #8 - Premium Resort Amenities Included!
This cozy 1949 Jim Dandy Vintage Camper #8 is a perfect getaway for couples looking jump back in time while having all the amenities of modern glamping. This 2-person vintage camper also has the space for a 4-person BYO sidecar tent on the campsite (sleeping 6 total on the site).
Hop back into the forties and experience mid-century camping and decor! The only camper of its kind known to exist, the camper is home to pictures of the couple that built and used the camper – quite a trip back in time! Our top-rated, family-oriented lakeside Wisconsin glamping allows you to time travel through a period-authentic theme without the fuss of actually building a time machine. And, do it while enjoying nature and without having to pack all of your stuff.
SPACE DESCRIPTION: This camper is outfitted with one camper full-sized futon bed and also has a food prep area (no appliances/water). For bathroom needs guests use the bathhouse. While it is snug on the inside, we feel its authentic character of the early American camping era more than outweighs the smaller interior. Outdoors is home to a charcoal grill, Edison lights, a picnic table, and a firepit. There is also a common gas grill station for guests' use (located between campsites 8 and 9). POV has wood swings and hammocks throughout the resort as well. This camper also provides basic electricity for charging wall lights, phones, laptops, fans, COPD machines, and other low-powered appliances, etc. A space heater is also provided (heaters provided in units – bring your own 1 lb propane canisters or buy them in our store – 1 canister should get you through overnight). There is parking for one vehicle with overflow parking available at the bathhouse.
PETS: No pets allowed.

NEW OWNERS GENEVIEVE & DARREN
In early 2018, we (Darren and Genevieve Coady) decided to go on a new adventure, take the plunge, and become America's next small business owners buying the resort formerly known as North Twin Lodge. We like to think of ourselves as caretakers of this wonderful resort that has and means so much to so many.
So what led us here? We have had much experience in camping. And we know a lot about vacationing. Darren has run a community center that hosts events, and Genevieve has a background in community planning and economic development. We have a son, Oliver, whom we want to bring up living a good life - knowing hard work but enjoying the relaxation of nature.
Bottom line, we felt it was time to do more to give back to others. Using our collective professional experience - thrown in with a dash of fun - our dream of owning a resort was born. When we found North Twin Lodge we fell in love with its history, its tradition of returning guests, and the lake. In October, 2018 we opened doors and haven't looked back.
As for the name change, Darren's childhood home was named "Coadys' Point of View" as it was on the end point of an overlook. With the resort having a walkway on the lake out to the point on the property, the Coadys' decided to keep the name for their future home.
Come visit the resort and become a part of the Point of View family - we look forward to meeting you and sharing in many memories to come!
