We believe that slowing down from time to time is essential and doing so surrounded by the forest, with the ocean only a short walk away, creates a space where it is easy to breathe and enjoy the things that make the soul sing.

Ocean Song Cottages were completely renovated in the Spring of 2022. The aim was to have cottages that were light filled, minimal and quietly luxurious with modern conveniences and finishes all while finding a balance that allowed them to sit comfortably in the forested oceanside landscape. The result was a carefully considered mix of nordic hygge and mid-century modern with a nod to our own Pacific Northwest's contemporary aesthetic: simple forms, real wood, a restrained palette and maintaining an open feel to the space.

Stroll the property while viewing wildlife that can include bear, deer, birds of prey, whales and seals. This serene and breathtaking oceanfront property can make your dream of enjoying a PNW getaway a reality!

Spectacular accommodation, amazing views! Plentiful wildlife. The cabin was romantic and perfectly setup. The small touch’s made it perfect. Could not have imagined a better stay.

Relaxing Oasis on Vancouver Island

The Ocean Song cottages were amazing -- perfect for a chance to disconnect, relax, and take in the beauty of Vancouver Island. The cottage had everything we needed for a week of relaxation: a small but very well equipped kitchen, a private hot tub looking out on the Juan de Fuca Strait, a hammock to lie in and read a book, and a gas fireplace to warm ourselves after a day of hiking in the area. Lots of wildlife to see, including bald eagles nesting on the property, and sea lions swimming in the strait below. The property is very quiet--there's only one other cottage on the property, and most of the time, you'd never even know if anyone was staying in the other cottage. The host Melodie is easy to deal with and very responsive. We had an amazing time, and can't wait to go back.

Beautiful escape

This is a beautiful place to escape your busy life. You are perched up on the cliff and overlooking the ocean. The cottage is immaculate and has everything you need. This area of the Island is gorgeous and lush and you spend hours walking and enjoying the beaches/parks. Highly recommend!

Wind Song is Peaceful

Very quiet peaceful setting. Great view of the sound and Olympic peninsula. Bald Eagles perching on a tree right in front of the cottage. Property was just as described.

Absolutely Perfect Restorative Retreat

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Song Cottages for our honeymoon and could not have been more satisfied with our stay. Melodie provided excellent suggestions for the timing of our journey to Shirley and amazing recommendations for what to do while we were there. The spa like atmosphere she has created with each perfectly curated piece of furniture, bed sheet, robe, towel, bath and body products made us feel like royalty. The view from every corner of the cottage and grounds is breathtaking. We feel so lucky to have been able to call Cedar Cottage out home away from home and look forward to returning! Amazing stay

We had the most wonderful week at the Oceansong Cabin. We booked the cabin for our honeymoon because of the coziness of the cabin and the hot tub with an ocean view. It did not disappoint. We loved exploring and then coming home to the hot tub. The cabin is gorgeous and was very clean. We hope to go back someday and 100% recommend staying here. The host communicated with us a lot and gave recommendations for things to do in the area!

Beautiful view and lovely little cottage

The cottage was perfect for a relaxing anniversary weekend. The view was spectacular from everywhere including the bed. No matter where you are you have a view of the Straight of Juan De Fuca. The hot tub and outdoor shower add to the experience. 10 out of 10 would stay here again.

Lovely birthday

There were so many thoughtful touches that made the experience so worthwhile. Beautiful clean cabin in a beautiful location. We played games together instead of watching tv!! Miracles do happen!! The only problem is that we had to leave… I didn’t want to leave. Would love to know where to get facecloths like that and the shampoo and conditioner were lovely as well. Oceansong cabins are amazing! We were not expecting to stay so much at the cabin but the area and views are spectacular. The cabin is lovely with everything you need.(but a tv). Great location inbetween Sooke and trails.loved it!

Peaceful and Private South Coast Cottage

Great spot overlooking the Juan de Fuca straight. Beautiful well kept cottage. The outside shower was great along with the hot tub. Evenings and mornings on the porch were outstanding and the overhead heater took the chill off the air. Two minutes from our favourite cafe Shirley Delicious! Wild life abound. Rabbits, eagles, seals all seen from property. Great honeymoon spot!!

Scenic Solitude

Our stay was absolutely glorious. We'd planned to go backpacking in the mountains and when we found out we'd be sleeping in sub-zero inclement conditions, we made a 360 pivot to this beauty. Grateful to have found this gem on such short notice. The hot tub was amazing after a long day's hike. The kitchen has everything you need—just remember to grind your coffee before coming. The bed was great and it even came with a hand-knit hot water bottle and house-shoes. The bathroom had heated floors which I love. It was all really tastfully done and luxurious-feeling.

Beautiful property, ocean views.

We had an amazing time celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We saw a pod of Orcas, a black bear, and a humpback playing in the water, breaching and flipping its tail. It was a short walk to the lighthouse and there are hiking trails close by. The full westcoast experience.

We had found a place, a uniquely beautiful place, to experience relaxation and renewal, a space which would encourage us to connect and reflect on what matters most. With refined comforts and expansive views a stay at the cottages prioritizes rest and retreat. Live simply. Live slow. Breathe in nature.

Why they chose this property

Ocean Song Cottages were closed at the end of the season on January 7, 2022 and re-opened on April 1, 2022. They were carefully and intentionally renovated with a strong emphasis on what matters - comfort and nature. Light pours into the cottages' large windows, bespoke interior fittings, modern appliances and furniture make for an easy stay and encourages a focus on well-being and reconnecting with nature. Outside there are 3.5 acres to explore plus many fabulous beaches close by. Each cottage is graced with a gas grill, 2-person hot tub and a large, shared expansive lawn which gently slopes down towards a breathtaking view of the ocean.
