We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised. The view was unbelievably beautiful. The only reason we did not give it a 5 as the property could use a little TLC.
Our stay was perfect and exactly as described. There was enough room for 6 guests. Kitchen and bedrooms were perfect. There were kayaks, a paddle board, canoe and more for us to use. The location was great, right on the water and close to golf courses. Would most definitely recommend!
Location and property are excellent. This was our third stay. We enjoyed a few upgrade. The cottage is very comfortable (beds and couches). The view from the cottage is so beautiful, it doesn’t matter if you have a rainy day. We loved activities on the lake (swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking).
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was basically just as described.

Family weekend getaway
The setting of this property was beautiful, right on the water with lots of land for the dog and children to run around. The actual cottage was fine, had all the basic items required to make our stay comfortable.

Debra thank you for staying at the cottage , wishing you all the best. .
I second time spent my vacation on Mckechnie Lake.
And I definitely will be back. That place is so quiet so relax!
Everything is close: the grocery, the trails (10-20 min.)

always love having Natalia come stay at the cottage .
We really enjoyed our stay at Ira’s place. It was as advertised. Having use of the canoe was great. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We spent a great deal of time just sitting outside overlooking the lake. Our dog also enjoyed the experience!
This was our second time staying at this property. It has everything. Beautiful view of the lake. Our family had a wonderful time. We’ll be back again next year.
Great location. A teensy bit difficult to find initially with the 10 - 10A. Everything needed was on site. Fun paddle board and canoe were also available and used daily. Close to great walking trails.
Relaxing and clean property nestled on a peaceful lake. Wonderful morning and evening views from the living room and the deck. The cottage is well equipped and relaxing, indoor and out. It's close enough to the highway and amenities, but tranquil enough you could never tell. Look forward to coming back.
Property and cottage could use a little more attention to maintenance and upkeep: paddle boat was broken as were most of the oars/paddles, most pool noodles were broken or in rough shape, eaves trough leaks over door to kitchen, etc.
Despite that, cottage was comfortable inside and we had a great time!
My family and I had a wonderful time at this cottage! It was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. I will say that I don’t think 7 people would comfortably fit, unless someone was sleeping on the couch. We had 6 people and found it perfect! The host left so many things for us to use, which was so so helpful.
The other thing I will say is that it is a little hard to get to. The GPS will take you down the wrong road so just be mindful!
Would definitely stay here again.
Our family had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage. It was exactly what we expected. It was clean and had everything we needed. Our kids loved the paddle board, canoe and trampoline. They also had the opportunity to fish. Sometimes in the afternoon we’d find them reading in the hammock. We had a couple of rainy days but enjoyed family time inside. The view from the cottage is beautiful. Looking forward to spending another week next year.
I spend two wonderful weeks in this place! Most of all I liked what I was looking for - silence and the opportunity to relax with my four-legged friends - it's all there! Beautiful nature, short distance to shops(15-20 min. driving), thousands of lakes (for those who love kayaking ). At the beginning of my holiday there were several issues that the property manager quickly resolved. I didn't want to leave!! I plan to come back here next year!

The lake view is great, and we are fortunate to enjoy the night sky with a clear view on clear nights. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. Even though there is a detailed word description on how to get to the correct cottage, it is difficult to find it, and we have to ask a neighbour. The cottage is clean, but its furniture and equipment, such as the light bulb, are aged. The light bulb has an extremely warm colour, which is not ideal for playing board games at night. Additionally, one of the chargers is not working (or we were unable to find its switch). But overall, the cottage experience is great and we all have enjoyable moments.
The cottage is as described, and the main room / kitchen are larger than pics show. One bedroom was small, but the other two are quite generous. Very clean, spacious bathroom. Fantastic views for a quiet week away from the city. The pedal boat was broken when we arrived, but don't use these boats anyhow. Canoe was new and lake was small enough to take a trip around every day. Great property for games/sports. Bonus... being able to watch the Jays on big screen in living room.

Lake Mckechnie
Location is excellent, quiet, picturesque, sun, shade, cool breezes. Water easily accessible, gentle slope, great for kids. We were disappointed the dock was not in place, just lying along the shore. Had to jump to get on it. No way to tie up a boat or the paddleboat. A canoe was advertised but not on site. Accomodations were clean, comfortable and spacious. Building and grounds need care but nothing that I couldn't live with.

Hey, there was a canoe. It was on the other side of the tree when you’re looking out to the lake on the left side I wish you would’ve asked me I would’ve told you - ira I will make sure other guests know about this
I'm happy with the property but got stressed out with the garbage disposal unclear where to dump, that's why we are delayed in checking out and not happy how my family was approached by the cleaner kind of rude of how she questioned why we have not left the property yet.

Hi Grace , checkout is 11Am but we let you stay longer during the cleaning process. Because you wanted the garbage removed during your stay I directed you to a local dump 5 minutes away, you could have left it and we would have disposed of it after the trip. It was nice to meet you and your family.
Lots of free wood. Has lots of cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper etc. much appreciated. Nice canoe and paddle board.
Cottage has a Lovely view through large sliding doors in sitting room. There are Lots of games and activities for a family this made it a fun trip
The lake is clean and it was very calm and quiet. A perfect vacation if you want a restful experience
