It was such a wonderful stay. The cabin was clean and better than the images. we loved being there. The river is right in front of the cabin which is amazing and the rooms are so spacious. The kitchen is fully equiped. 20/10 recommend.

We stayed over the holidays at this absolute gem of a location and property with our four adult children and can't say enough about how amazing it was. The cabin is at the edge of the Mississippi river right at a rapids bend and the sound of rushing water was so peaceful, even in the cold! The cabin was well equipped with excellent amenities and had plenty of room for everyone. There are two fireplaces which heated the whole cabin and gave us two great sitting areas. The hosts were responsive and attentive and very friendly and check-in was a breeze. We won't hesitate to stay again and have already told several friends and family about this wonderful cabin.

Lovely log house

We had an amazing time chilling out at the very bend of the river, cooking on the fire pit and resting in style at this lovely log house. Communication with the owners was clear and almost instant, through messaging. We will stay again here anytime we can.

Wonderful Escape

Wonderful place. Absolute peace and quiet. The only sounds were the birds and the roaring rapids. They were mesmerizing. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Cabin is gorgeous and cozy. Can’t wait to make it there again.

Beautiful setting!!

Gorgeous log cottage with an absolute stunning view of the rapids. Water is nice and warm in July. The sound of the water is so soothing. Comfortable atmosphere. Thank you so much!

Great cabin for all seasons

We had fun in the rapids, visited yummy cheese makers and craft breweries around, spacious cottage, comfortable deck chairs and available owner of something goes wrong or if we have questions. 110% would recommend. We will be back!

Tranquility at its Best!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at "the bend in the river"! The cottage and its surroundings was simply gorgeous. We were greeted by two lovely deer in the early mornings... I have rented many cottages in the near vicinity and this one by far, takes all of them. I will definitely be back!

A weekend we’ll remember and a place we would come back to for more memories.

The hosts Yvonne and Anton were so friendly and accommodating. They provided us with so much detail on the property, activities and POI’s near by and so much more details were provided. The propriety was literally outfitted with everything and everything you would ever need at the cottage stay from garage bags to blankets, towel, you name it and they had in the cottage. We had to worry about absolutely nothing our entire weekend.

Gorgeous river-view property

We chose the cottage for a small family getaway (2 parents, two adult children and their dogs). It appealed to me because it was a bit unusual--the cottage is on a riverbend with rapids going by the house. It wasn't ideal for swimming, alas, but there are beaches near by. The cottage is quite secluded (there are properties not far away but the trees provide a lot of privacy). The cottage is spacious and has a brand-new kitchen. We had a few problems (no phone reception, some things we couldn't find) but resolved these quickly by contacting the owners.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cozy cabin & the welcome gift. We came here for our 22nd anniversary & this place could not have been more perfect The views from the decks are mesmerizing. The hum of the river is calming & the way the sunlight plays on the water & snow is beautiful. Amazed on how well the windows reduced the sounds of the water when you need quiet. The perfect place to relax & enjoy nature. Great comfy couch to read on & watch the wildlife play on the deck & trees. The animals we saw were deer, blue jays, chickadees., black/grey/red squirrels, swans & two birds we had never seen before. They were fun to watch. We also have never seen so many blue jays in one spot at the same time. 17 was our highest count. Supply of birdseed & firewood was great. Great area for hiking. The snow & ice on the trees was absolutely breathtaking to see. We had fun in the snow & it was nice to make a warm fire when we came back to warm up. Snow removal was greatly appreciated. Lovely, private getaway

This property is amazing, peaceful and except the roar of the water, very quiet. We saw deer almost every day in the back yard, the scenery was lovely and the kitchen was well equipped. The heat lamps in the bathrooms, and especially the relax a chair by the water were lovely additions. A few minor inconvenciences that could be easily rectified would have made the stay even more lovely. The fridge and freezer were quite full of previous stuff already so a separate owner fridge in the garage would be nice (most do) as we had a hard time fitting all our own stuff in for the week. It was very difficult to read a book at night due to poor lighting, lack of lamps/better bulbs and if you're tall, you can't use the upstairs loft master bathroom, configured so the sink counter is on the short wall and you can't stand and see yourself in the mirror LOL. Place could also use a good dusting on ceiling fans, window shelves, harder to reach areas, my allergies acted up terribly for that. Something just to keep in mind for guests is that all the 3 levels are open loft style so noise travels everywhere with no privacy except the main floor bedroom. Fine for everyone on the same schedule type thing but just something to mention. The basement is the perfect spot to put all the kids visiting for overnight with all the beds and games their own washroom! Overall, I recommend this property highly and we had a lovely stay.

Perfect family getaway

First visit of hopefully many! We absolutely loved our stay. Lots of fresh snow followed by warmer weather made for a perfect week of snowball fights, board games and relaxing in the hot tub. Already missing the sound of the river! We'll be back!!

Quiet getaway

We were looking for a relaxing, private and comfortable getaway and this cabin checked all the boxes and more. Would highly recommend these hosts and cabin to couples who wish to get away from the busyness of everyday life and enjoy nature at its finest.

Stunning property with special touches

A winter wonderland! We had the most wonderful weekend at the Bend in the River. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the considerate and beautiful touches. The hot tub, outdoor firepit and view of the river from the decks kept us outside even in the wintery weather. Inside the beautiful fireplace and living area kept us entertained. Beds were comfy and the kitchen exceptionally well provisioned. We are already planning our next trip!

Third visit and just as lovely as ever

We've stayed here twice before over the past 3 years. This was our first time in the winter. The river wasn't frozen but was beautiful. The hot tub was great and it was so cozy in the (spacious) cabin with the fire going. No hesitations in recommending this cottage to others except that we want to keep it our own little secret! We're already planning out next visit. Thank you to the Holland family!
