Big Red Bunk Haus is a 3,500 sq. ft. home just minutes from wineries, shopping, museums, and hiking is the perfect place for family and friends to gather. Big Red sleeps up to 16 guests.

This 8 bedroom, 4.5 bath home offers two living areas, a kitchen fully-stocked with professional-grade pots, pans, knives & utensils, and a swimming pool for your ideal getaway.

It's perfect for night owls and early birds, as no one is expected to sleep in the downstairs common area. 11 ft. ceilings and 8 ft. solid-core doors accommodate even the tallest of Texans.

Downstairs there is an open-concept living/ dining/ kitchen great room, 2 primary bedrooms (both with king beds) with en suite bathrooms, a 3 bedroom suite (bdrm 1-queen, bdrm 2- twin, bdrm 3- queen) with a full bathroom, bedroom off kitchen with queen bed, half bathroom, and laundry room.

Upstairs you will find 2 more bedrooms (bdrm 1- queen, bdrm 2- two twins), a second living room (with full daybed and trundle), and another full bathroom. Outside relax on the wide back porch, in the pool or the picnic tables under the shady oaks.

It's easy to take advantage of all the attractions just minutes away- 7 minutes to shopping on Main Street, 10 minutes to HWY 290 wineries, 15 minutes to Luckenbach, and 30 minutes to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. Groceries and supplies are also nearby- 10 minutes to Walmart, 12 minutes to HEB and 7 minutes to nearby convenient store.

Big Red offers the serenity of the country with the convenience of the city.

Big Red is situated on pastoral farmland. The home feels very private, but there are neighbors nearby and ask that all guests act accordingly. Quiet hours must be observed between 10 PM and 7 AM. House Rules must be adhered to; no guns, no fireworks, and fires are the biggies. These rules protect our neighbors. Violating these will result in losing your deposit and being asked to vacate the property without a refund. We want everyone to have a good time at our home, but we can't stress enough how important it is to protect those around us.

Everything about this place was perfect. Maybe our favorite rental property we have ever stayed in. The hostess was so quick to reply to questions, and when we walked in it was immaculate AND there were cookies waiting for us. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was so nice and cozy. This house was very spacious for our entire family. It was very well stocked with amenities for cooking. The open floor plan allowed our family to never be separated while cooking, visiting, and playing games. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the livestock and wildlife. Start of Summer Tradition

We get a VRBO every year for two families over Memorial Day Weekend in the Texas Austin/Hill Country area. This was our favorite to date. Easy drive to all wineries and Main Street Fredericksburg. But the rustic spot was such a plus!!! The patio and pool and tree swing and cows were blissful. Fantastic set up for 3 families with kids or a girls trip.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The views are excellent and the barn feels like home. Some of our favorite times were spent eating around the dinner table, and hangout on the couch or in the back yard. Lots of room and an excellent place to stay. Family trip.

This house was the perfect size for my family. The backyard view was breathtaking and the peace and quiet it provides at night is something extremely special. Will definitely be coming back if given the chance.

We live in Austin but have deep ties to Fredericksburg. Our family settled in Fredericksburg in the 1850's.

Why they chose this property

My father grew up on this land, and this is where our family has gathered for generations. We feel very fortunate to have built a home to share with family, you, and future generations to enjoy. This particular parcel of land offers pastoral views and views of the hill country in the distance. It is quiet and secure; the property is fenced and gated. And a final small but important note... even though our home is very private, we do have neighbors and we expect all guests in ways that protect them... Please no guns, fireworks or fires.

What makes this property unique

We designed this home to accommodate lots of folks to come and enjoy time together. There's a big 'ole great room where everyone can be together, but there are also 8 rooms that offer privacy when you need it. There is ample parking for guests in our driveway. Watching cattle and deer meander through the pastures is a favorite pastime.
