We stayed at this place for 4 nights with our dog and 6 year old. The cabin was clean, the kitchen had everything you'd need, and back yard was peaceful. We loved that we could walk to the beach and playground from the cabin. We also enjoyed going to local attractions like Kraay Farms and Aspen Beach. Overall, we are very happy with our stay!
Host was great. Firepit area was great. Inside of cabin was clean but could use some maintenance (ie bathroom door). Outside needs some TLC, windows are very dirty and covered with cobwebs, weeds growing up through steps and in eaves troughs etc.
Beautiful and quaint cabin at the lake. The house was stocked with everything needed in the kitchen as well as linens for the beds and bathroom. There were some toiletries which were wonderful as I had forgotten my shampoo and conditioner. This house is a great stay and the backyard was huge! The bbq was also super awesome to have, and it is a VERY nice bbq.
Very inpressed with the cottage. Theresa has been there every time we had consern. The secound day we realised the TV screen was cracked so we reported it then the next day we had a new TV. Excellent service during our stay. I will definitely rent it again.
The accommodation was great with clean bedding and towels, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. Firewood was provided and appreciated. The cabin is so cozy, somewhere we would return to again. Host was accommodating and good on communication.
Our family had tons of fun at this beautiful cabin! They had so many essential items that could easily be forgotten to pack by travellers! My kids had a blast!
We loved our stay at this cute little cabin. The kids ran wild in the yard and it was a quick walk to the beach and campground. The cabin came with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend, already planning next year.

Thank you for staying at our cabin and for your feedback ! We are in the process of updating hopefully will have it completed by next summer :) would love to have you back. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
We three ladies enjoyed our stay very much . We flipped to see who shared the king size bed and the other took the single bottom bunk . Both quite comfortable . I am not a fan of futons and it’s in the upstairs hall so not truly a bedroom . Gorgeous back yard fire out area and sunny deck made for a really nice little weekend !
Theresa's cabin is a peaceful forest oasis suitable for all ages and people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.
The location is perfect -- nearby trails, beaches, parks, and close to Bentley which is a great town to visit while you're there.
The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend including some lovely amenties like toothpaste just in case you forgot to pack some.
We will defintely be back for a visit and might just make this our annual getaway/vacation spot in the future. Thanks to Theresa for making our getaway a smooth process and being such a lovely host!

Our stay at The Cozy Cabin at the Lake exceeded expectations. Theresa, the host, provided everything we needed, from a fully equipped kitchen to bathroom essentials and even kids' toys. The cabin is dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like poop bags and bowls available. We loved the fire pit area off the deck, perfect for evening relaxation. The Birch Bay community is welcoming and peaceful, with a well-maintained, shallow beach just a short walk away. The cabin's proximity to nature and the lake made for a perfect getaway. We're already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend booking this beautiful cabin for a memorable stay.
The cabin was exactly as advertised with some extras. Lots of DVDs and board games. Private yard and short 5 minute walk to the beach through a forest path. Bedding was comfortable and massive King bed was a treat. Coffee, tea, bathroom essentials, spices and cooking materials were available. The lake was decently warm for the last weekend of September. The host was readily available whenever questions arose. An excellent weekend away!
We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful location, and the host was very helpful throughout our visit. We arrived later than expected and had some difficulty entering the cabin, but Theresa responded promptly and assisted us right away, which we truly appreciated. The cabin itself is charming and well-equipped with everything you might need. We happened to visit during an extremely cold spell, and the indoor temperature was quite low when we arrived. Although we tried adjusting the thermostats and using the space heaters, they kept tripping. Thankfully, plenty of warm blankets were provided, which helped the first night. On the second day, we started the wood fireplace earlier (with the firewood kindly provided by the host), and the cabin was much more comfortable.Due to the extreme cold, the bathroom pipes also seemed to freeze and drain slowly. A plunger was available, though it didn’t resolve the issue, likely because of the weather.Overall, while the cold made the stay a bit adventurous, we still enjoyed the experience and the peaceful setting. We would definitely love to return—perhaps in the summer when the weather is warmer!
Had a great long weekend getaway at this little cabin in a nice community. Grateful that my therapy dog was allowed to stay. Reliable wifi was a must for me as I was attending an online course and the owner’s internet provider did not fail. Theresa was very prompt in her communication. Loved having a fire in the woodstove inside as well as sitting by the firepit outside. Kitchen had all the basics, but no dishwasher which is quite typical in cabins. Comfy furniture in the living area and a comfy bed. I have stayed in many rental properties and would stay here again.
The area is nice and is a short walk to the lake. We enjoyed the backyard hammocks and fire pit. It was very peaceful. It was great for our puppy too. The yard was full of weeds and the shed and deck areas could use a good sweep. The bathroom door was broken on arrival, but the host was responsive and was able to get a contractor in the next day. Overall, the place could use some updates, like wall touch up’s and new pillows. If you are a tall person, this property is not going to be a good choice. The wall cuts in to where the toilet is and therefore a grown man would not be able to stand in front of the toilet. It also cuts in by the staircase. The kitchen was well stocked and made cooking very convenient. The fridge was huge and the coffee maker was great.
I flew into Edmonton and heading south, we found the Co-op Store in Rimbey ideal for shopping. The cabin has a very large fridge, so we stocked up and enjoyed most meals on the large deck with umbrella for shade. The weather was low 20s and mainly sunny, so we made good use of the bar-b-que for dinners.
We got lots of exercise walking or riding bikes to the beach. My 2 grand-daughters, ages 10 and 12, went swimming every day, played basketball, read books while relaxing in the hammock, watched DVDs and helped gather kindling to start our nightly fire.
We had 4 adults and 2 kids, so my son brought his camper for 1 adult to sleep in. The upstairs futon shouldn't be opened because it blocks the hallway, but would suit a child if unopened.
I appreciated the well equipped kitchen, very clean out-house used occasionally and especially being secluded in a natural environment of trees, flowers, birds and squirrels...a truly refreshing experience!
