Great place to relax!

I'm amazed at the way the owners have preserved this old farmhouse while providing every modern convenience you could need. It's in a pretty remote area so it's perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. The spacious room and bathroom above the garage allowed our group to have extra privacy. I'm always appreciative when I find a nice place to stay that allows dogs. We've stayed in quite a few VRBO homes and this one tops the list. It really is perfect!

A little piece of heaven

This property is now my favorite. I absolutely love everything about it. I treasured sitting on the bench on the bridge listening to the stream and watching the falling leaves float down stream. The inside was so cozy and comfortable. Excellent beds and furniture. Perfect for pets.

Sitting on the back deck playing cards and listening to the Creek was pure relaxation. The home was clean and the decor was welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Mountain Retreat Really Rocks

Quaint country home, beautiful setting and landscaping with glorious flowers and the tranquil sound of a brook babbling behind and below. Our caravan of family members decided this year to use the residence as lodging during an annual reunion in the wilderness, as it was a short distance away from the campground where it is traditionally held. Aside from a GPS mishap that once sent us driving down curvy and crumbly backwoods mountain roads, our stay was splendid as the amenities are top-notch: comfortable beds, warm showers, scenic and spacious everywhere you look. Additionally, our son was tickled to find a compelling novel left on his nightstand and which captured his attention during downtime. All told, this is a highly recommendable vacation home for anyone seeking to experience the deer and butterflies and abundant greenery of the great outdoors in mountainous terrain without giving up basic hygeine, just be sure to get directions from someone who knows the area! ;)

Quite, Quaint, Beautiful

Finding the place, online wasn't hard but deciding on this home from two others was.abit of a challenge . I have 2 teens and certain things are a requirement, I am a bit easier then that since I really enjoy quietness over hurry up and wait. The house is beautiful, 3 bedrooms in the house and one over the garage, we'll I gave the kids the house and I ENJOYED the peaceful time in the apt over the garage. I just want to say thank.you so much to Cassi for a quick response for any question I had. I would think of this location again if I am in the area to stay. Sgt. K

Perfect getaway!

Our group of high school English teachers needed a little getaway before we started our new school year, and this house was the perfect spot! There was plenty of bedroom space for all of us to be comfortable, love the open feel between the kitchen and living room area hay allowed for fun conversations even when prepping food or fixing drinks. The outdoor seating offered lots of options for a little quiet time or time to read a book, plus the screened in porch helped those who aren’t as comfortable with the bugs still enjoy the beauty of the location. (Not that there was a big problem - definitely not - it’s just what you expect when you’re in the woods 😉) When it came time to leave, we all wished we had planned to stay longer! We will definitely be back!

My Dream Home

I had no idea what my dream home actually looked like until we stayed here! We plan to retire to the mountains (many moons from now) and this house had everything we needed and more - it's an inspiration for our forever mountain home. It was built in the late 1800's so it's got character and charm, but it's newly restored so it's also got comfort and a modern touch. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 and fur-babies to spread out (the apt above the garage was perfect for my husband and I to have our own little space away from the two teenagers). And there are SO many neat, vintage items in that apt! We had a little "scavenger hunt" and it was really neat to find so many cool items in one room. My daughter loved the bedding on the downstairs King bed so much we had to find it online & order! The furniture/beds were all comfy and the decor was really unique, quaint, and eclectic. The kitchen was unbelievably stocked and the few things I brought from my own kitchen were not even needed. LOVED the screened in porch with the hammock swing and the small dog run with a doggie door was perfect for those quick morning & evening "potty calls". The larger dog run area with the fire pit was a great hang out area for us and our babies. We enjoyed several evening fires with s'mores and wine. :) The grill worked great and was utilized several times as well. You will need to use the lighter (in the kitchen drawer) to light it though, as the starter button is broken. The fact that the back deck had a gate so our dogs could be outside with us while we ate and grilled was a PERFECT touch. So much thought for pets put into this property and as a dog owner who is always looking for a pet friendly place to vacation, this one has been hands down the best stay we've had, by far! You will have some insect visitors in the house/apt, but being an older home in the mountains/woods, you have to expect that. Comes with the territory! Nothing that bothered us though. Wonderful communication with the host - zero complaints! Cassi was super nice, hospitable, and responsive. She even provided a few suggestions for things (in addition to the handy guide they have in the house when you arrive). If I HAD to "find something", I think eventually adding a TV to the apt above the garage would be an awesome touch. And the streaming connection was slow (that's to be expected). But that's me grasping for straws! :) 10 out of 10 - 5 Stars - Highly Recommend! Miss it already...

Peaceful Mountain getaway.

Besides a slight issue with check in our stay was exactly what my family needed. The home was clean, cozy and spacious. Freshly renovated and yet it felt homey and comforting. The creek served as natural entertainment, adventure and soothing white noise the entire stay. We needed help with one of the heating units and the owners had their contractor come out almost immediately to remediate. He was so kinda and generous. We love this property and will return whenever we need to disconnect from our overwhelming city lives. A treasure for sure. We stayed in winter after a heavy snow. All wheel drive vehicle suggested.
